2009 Chevrolet Impala owner complaints

I have a 2009 with 77000 miles 0n it I have fix the knocking noise under dash 3 times now it is a actuator there are 2 of them. I have also found by spraying Carburetor cleaner in the throttle body just remove the the big air hose and spray all around in side this stops the the speed reduction control lite from coming on saying you have no power. The problem I'm having now is while I'm driving the dash lights go out and radio light goes dim. after a while the lights come back on bright and working great they go on and off when they want to The lights showing me the mileage works great all the time its just the dash lights going on and off and my car just pass smog in California in June. I now live in Texas ,I have to have my car inspection here and it failed do to a EVAP and a 02 sensor

Key stuck in ignition for no apparent reason,no issue or warning. *js

2000 Chevrolet impala. Vehicle wouldn't start. Took it to service dealer and got it fixed. Recall was issued for same reason. *ta the key, and tumbler were replaced, and the key switch was re-programmed. *jb

My car started putting an everything was dim while I was driving the brake light an check engine light both were on

ABS and traction control lights intermittently come on causing car to jerk with acceleration, or occasionally, to slip during braking. Wheel hub assemblies have been replaced multiple times and the same faulty issue keeps reoccurring. Low quality wiring and position and tautness going into the harness are a recipe for disaster. Sensors can be set off with as little effort as gently rocking the car, definitely going off if there are any bumps or potholes in the road. Also had other annoying although less dangerous issues: door lock actuators and heating/ac actuator, causing door locks to not respond and causing a horrible clicking noise in the car, respectively. Low beam headlights quit working driving in the city , traction control and engine loss of power lights came on and car shut down while driving down the interstate doing 70 MPH . Door locks malfunction and quit working . This has happened to many times . Affraid to let the wife drive it to work because it has shut down quite a few times .

Driving 65 on freeway car slows down to 40 check engine light says service traction control. *tr

I have gotten serveral error with check service traction control since I purchase the use chevelot impala ls 2009 back in 2012. It already had 88,000 miles on it and about a year after I had the car I started to get this message. The second it occured I was on freeway and the error came on and after I got off on the exit my car shut down for about 5 minutes before I was able to start it back up. Now I have this error this time and every now and again it feel like the car wants to jerk every now and again and if I press the gas pedal down to quickly the light error flash with the car sign swirling message on the dashboard.

I was driving on the highway when the service traction control came up on the dash along with the traction control light, with in seconds of this happening the car read reduced engine power. The car immediately lost power and slowed down to a maximum of 25 MPH. This sudden loss of power caused the cars behind me to nearly miss rear-ending me. I had to drive in this crippled mode 10 miles to reach the closest exit. It is due to a faulty throttle position sensor. This seems to be a very common problem with these vehicles and can cause a sudden loss of power.

120,757 miles and the car is needing a 3rd gas pedal. The gas pedal was already replaced a few years back and gm was made aware of the issue, but I am having to replace it again, $339.00. Did I recieve a faulty replacement? Warning lights for traction control, check engine and message of reduced engine power. I've never had to replace a sensor/accelerator pedal once, let alone twice on a car!!

This vehicle traction control problem never ends

While my wife was driving (with my three kids as passengers) at highway speeds the message was displayed in the dashboard "reduced engine power" and "service traction control" messages were displayed. The vehicle immediately last power and the speed was reduced to less than 30 MPH, while on the highway. She was able to navigate to the shoulder and call me for assistance. By the time I got there and started the engine it was running normally except for the "service engine soon" light was lit. I took it to the nearest Chevrolet dealership who immediately stated it was a faulty electronic throttle control and would cost $580 to replace. I searched on-line and found dozens of complaints exactly like this one for 2008-2012 model impalas'. There is not a recall on this problem so the customers a

Car hesitates on acceleration from a stop. Rpms go up but car goes very slow, like if it has lost a lot of power. Once it stops hesitating it bangs into gear and speeds forward. It can possibly cause a crash if driver is not aware its hesitating.

After getting new brakes put on my car, the low tire pressure light would come on for different tires. It was random and after checking the tire pressure they were all fine. The light is on all the time and when I check my tire pressure on the dash panel they all four read 0 tire pressure. I have to check them manually which sounds petty but I paid for this option I should be able to use it. My remote car starter doesn't work because this error message is on. I've had it reset and it comes right back on. I wad told the wheel sensors were broke when getting the brakes fixed and that they cost around $100 each. There has to be some way to make these so they don't get broken while getting normal maintenance done so I now have a huge additional cost that far exceeds the cost of getting the bra

Takata recall - I have had my vehicle shut off while I was driving down the road. This has occurred at least 3 times. Gm is aware and has ignored my requests for two years. A few months ago, gm attorney told me to take my vehicle to a gm dealership as soon as possible and the recall repairs would be done at no cost to me. I made him aware that my vehicle had already been sitting at a gm dealership for months waiting for the repair and the dealership refused to repair it and will not provide a rental vehicle. Prior to the recall, I had numerous steering issues and had taken it to gm dealerships just to have them return it with the same problems. When the vehicle shut off, I was in a bad crash and the airbag did not deploy, resulting in me going through the windshield.

Airbag light comes on and service airbag is displayed. This is not related to the current recall about the passenger airbag. I took it in to the dealership for the passenger airbag recall hoping it would fix it. It did not.

A dead battery at the airport parking lot in a 2009 Chevrolet impala may not seem like a problem, however there is no mechanical trunk release from inside the vehicle and my back seat doesn't fold down, so I couldn't crawl into the trunk to trip the emergency release, I was unable to get to my jumper cables. Then when I tried to get the key out of the ignition to lock the car to go make a call. Guess what with the battery dead I couldn't get the key out of the ignition either. A huge concern of mine is this; if that car was involved in an accident, where the battery was destroyed, there would not be any means to access the trunk where emergency equipment is stored, such as first aid kits, fire extinguishers. *tr
