11 months after I bought my Buick the engine went out the dealer said it was nothing to do with me the replacement used all my warranty. And there has been one after another problem. My steering wheel locks during turns almost had some real serious finder benders. It's throwing p420 code for bank 2 and now have no sound at all everything works but no blinkers, hazard, seatbelt, backup warning sounds at all with no radio .

Check engine light went on. Car was seemingly working alright, however, after fueling up, it was difficult to restart the car. In fact, at the last fill up I was unable to start the car for over 20 minutes while at the gas pump. This caused a great deal of anger, frustration, and rage in the other drivers who were waiting to fuel their cars at very busy gas station near lax. The dealership stated the fuel sensors needed to be replaced at a total cost of $1700.00. Two months prior the air conditioner/heater required repair as a hose needed to be replaced due to a leak, a $425 repair, furthermore, the steering problem we seemingly had corrected 3 years ago is occurring again and is need of another repair. And lastly, 50% of the time when I turn off the engine and pull the key out of the
When I try to turn left or right at a low speed, the steering locks up. If I stop and start again, the steering works correctly. This is an intermittent problem but is quite serious as it could have caused accidents two of the times it occurred! *tr
Approximately four years ago, my steering started slipping and becoming tighter in tight (<95 degree) turns. Within a short time span, the problem became constant. It is impossible to enter or exit a parking spot. The dealer quoted me $2500 to repair and said the problem is frequent on Buick enclaves from 2010 on.
In the course of annual state inspection and tending to recall issues, was told that the power steering was leaking. Had not noticed any problem with it. Because was a safety issue got repair done; warranty expired (of course) so ended up paying $1400 for replacing power steering rack (including 4 wheel alignment). Contacted gm and they did partially reimburse under "special coverage". That seemed pretty decent of them but not so sure now in light of all the complaints listed re power steering in the enclave in general and the 2010 enclave in particular. There clearly is an issue with 2010 enclaves (and maybe acadias and traverses) and the power steering assembly. There should be a recall issued. *tr
My steering completely sticks when turning either left or right at slow speeds. I have heard other Buick enclave owners having the same issue right around 60,000 miles and around the make/model year 2010. There are over 200 complaints on edmund's Buick enclave forum "power steering noise". It is frightening because it doesn't allow you to properly make the turn. I have taken it into my Buick dealership to confirm the issue and they did confirm that there are issues with the steering pump. *tr
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Buick enclave. The contact stated that she began having issues with the steering that progressively became worse. There were no warning indicators illuminated before or after the failure. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the rack and pinion failed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The VIN was unknown. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

The check engine light came up on my 2010 Buick enclave cxl approximately 3 months ago (september 2017), however, when I went to get the check engine light diagnosed it turned off. This came back on in october 2017, but because it happened late at night I decided to go to a local autozone and they ran a diagnostic and informed me that it indicated that it was the timing chain and needed to be replaced. When I took this to the local dealer, the check engine light was no longer on, and they indicated they could not accept the diagnostic from the local autozone. The check engine has again turned on (december 2017) and indicates that there is a bad timing chain that need to be replaced. Earlier enclave models had this issue, and the manufacturer extended the warranty to replace the timing chai
The timing chains and guides used on this model, as well as some earlier models are drastically undercapable, and subject to stretching at premature times. This can cause a catastrophic engine failure. While some earlier models have been subject to recall, gm has not stepped up to the plate and fixed the issue by redesign. The issue persists, and needs to be addressed. At present, my vehicle is showing the p0008 code, repeatedly, which indicates this issue. While I have been lucky to this point, in that I have not had a catastrophic engine failure, I believe that the problem is imminent. This is a well documented issue amongst the owner community, and gm has ignored addressing it.
I am filing this safety complaint regarding a sudden and dangerous engine failure in a 2010 Buick Enclave CXL purchased from Frankfort Car Outlet on 8/25/2025. On 10/25/2025, while driving on the expressway, the engine suddenly began knocking, lost power, and stalled. This created a serious safety risk to myself and other drivers. The failure occurred only 60 days after purchase and approximately 2,000 miles later, suggesting a pre-existing internal defect that the dealership did not disclose. The dealership has refused to inspect the vehicle, acknowledge the safety risk, or assist in any way. This type of sudden engine failure could pose a serious hazard if similar vehicles have the same issue, and I believe NHTSA should be aware of the potential risk.
I was driving straight on the highway when the engine light came on, the engine started to run very rough, and very shortly thereafter (about one mile) the engine died. The car had to be towed to a mechanic where they found a broken timing chain that caused severe damage to the cylinder head, valves, and camshaft caps and sensors. While it was in for service they did correct recall 14187 front safety belt anchor however they charged me for replacing the rear lift-gate struts which should have been covered by recall 15240. Reimbursement request attached. While researching recalls I came across 10287 - customer satisfaction program addressing problems with the timing chain in several gm vehicles. This turned out to be a very costly repair because of the damage done by the chain whipping

2010 Buick enclave with 116,164 miles, just over 10,00 per year, engine developed a spun rod bearing and quit while driving. Steering lost power and engine stopped. I had to push it backwards to get out of an intersection. I had just started a right turn. 22 month earlier the timing chain stretched on the vehicle costing $2000 in repairs. Oil was changed every 5000 or less miles and used mobile 1 synthetic oil the entire time. This and owners of earlier model years report this same problem from this vehicle. A well maintained vehicle should not have these two problems which points to some failure in design or manufacture. Vehicle is now junk.
My check engine light came on last week. I took my 2010 Buick enclave (82,400 miles) to the local dealer from whom I purchased the car certified pre-owned about 20 months ago. They tell me that the timing chain is worn and must be replaced - an extremely expensive repair that should not be needed on a car with 82,000 miles. Since the manufacturer's warranty only covered it to 5-yrs/100k miles, it was no longer in effect and so they wouldn't cover the cost to fix the car.
I own a 2010 BMW.the cruise cont. Has been changed for 2010 & in my opinion is a safety hazard.no failures-no accidents-yet. Standard feature of 2010 BMW 3, 4, 1, series & perhaps all (manual transmissions) is the cruise control does not disengage when the clutch pedal is depressed. This is a new feature for the 2010 models. It has always disengaged by pressing the clutch or brake, and obviously by manually turning off. The result is if the cruise is on, and the driver downshifts for braking, when the clutch is released, the car shoots back to the pre-set speed. Thus no engine braking occurs. This is not safe. If downshifting, driver needs to either touch the brake first to disengage the cruise, or manually turn it off. Not sure why this is considered an improvement by BMW; it is a sa

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Buick enclave. The contact stated that the electronic stability traction control warning indicator flashed. Also, the ABS warning indicator flashed and various warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to the dealer more than five times, but could not be diagnosed. The vehicle was also taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was notified of the failure numerous times for years and provided no repair solution. The failure mileage was not available.
What was happening was the car would just start downshifting by itself, speed was drastically reduced. It didn't matter how fast or slow I was going but it did happen on the expressway and I went from 65mph to 40 MPH in a matter of seconds. Had been happening for a year and has been to the dealer 5 times, this last time they had it for 7 weeks and required gm tech center support to finally get it fixed. This was not only a safety issue but also a fire hazard. Following is the fix: nec to check other data circuits that might back feed into high speed circuit. Found circuit #6060 back feeding in to circuit 2500 causing itermittent communication loss. Found circuit overload at contact point g110. Was serving as a contact point for nine circuits and overheating, causing high resistance and los

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Buick enclave equipped with firestone destination le2 tires (na), size: p255/60/r19 (na). While driving approximately 60 MPH, the contact heard a noise coming from the rear passenger side tire. Within a few minutes, the noise increased and the rear passenger side tire completely split apart without warning. The contact purchased two new tires for the rear passenger and driver side in august of 2016. The contact replaced the rear passenger side tire with the spare tire. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate vehicle failure mileage was 84,000 and the tire failure mileage was 5,000. *tr

Hello, we have just purchased a used 2010 enclave Buick about three months ago and have just hit the 80,000 mile mark and my engine light turned on and the diagnosis for this vehicle is p0008. On line they show the previous models to mine where all recalled for this code issue. My concern is was this issue fixed for these newer models or is this something that will be recalled in the future just like the older models did. There are others concerned with this same issue so I'm aware that we are not the only ones. Thanks you, p.s very hopeful someone can help would hate to spend all that money on a vehicle we have recently purchased and does not have too many miles.
brakes 1 complaint shown
Tl* the contact owns a 2010 Buick enclave. The contact stated that the brake booster failed and caused the brakes to seize while traveling 45 MPH. The contact shifted through each gear and when the brakes were abruptly applied again, the vehicle exhibited a loud pop. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was confirmed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The contact also stated that the ect switch in the transmission failed, causing the vehicle to become resistant to acceleration attempts. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and it was confirmed that the ect switch to the transmission had failed. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 38,000.
