2010 Dodge Journey owner complaints

When I go to start ITIT's sometimes shut itself off or just doesn't wanna start all the way And the killing mission seem to be loose I can wiggle it around power in then we'll around and get nothing at all Ignition seems to we have an issues and sometimes when I have started and I'm driving it all of sudden cuts off and dies just turns off just out of no where While I'm driving

While sitting in the yard, locked ....my 2010 Dodge journey just randomly starts blowing the horn. This is happening on a daily basis for the last few days and even during the middle of the night. There is something wrong with there electrical system because sometimes the radio will go on and off also. Please tell me that there is a recall on this. I have already had to have a lifter replaced and the problem seems to be starting again.... *js

As a Dodge owner I been having problems with the ignition or the ignition key. The car does not start immediately like you would expect it in a normal way to get it to start. Starts when it feels like it. There have been times that I have to wait for more than an hour or get a jump star form a good samaritan, but it will not respond with a jump either. It has been frustrated for the last 2 years. I took it back to the place I bought it from and it was an in and out of the shop for about a couple months and the problems was never resolved. I just had to replace the ignition switch, knowing other Dodge journeys had a recall, but of course not mine, yet there are so many complaints about electrical issues with my specific model I have no clue why they were not recalled! To add insult to injury this may or may not fix the issues I'm having. My airbag light goes on and off randomly and often leaving my car and family vulnerable. My etc and traction control lights along with my engine light come on randomly and throw my car into limp mode while im on the highway with kids in the car. The lights clear themselves out when I turn the car off then on... So it has been impossible to diagnose but has made me susceptible to break downs and near death experiences. I have read that several others online have had similar problems and dealer can not fix it. I have had this car 3 months and at random times when you try to start the car it will not turn over, will not start. It is not the battery, it has been tested. It will not start when jumped, it at times will start in neutral, but the others you just have to wait until it decides to start, hours, sometimes days. It is electrical, possibly anit theft. I do not understand why this has not been recalled.

The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Car will not start. Just clicking noise in gear shifter and near glove box. After about 50 times trying then vehicle starts and is fine until next time which may be weeks, months or days.

Car intermittently does not start. It happens on a daily basis. Replaced starter, battery, alternator, fuses, cleaned all connectors, solenoid , neutral safety switch.. Still has issues. You have to put the car in neutral to get it started. Key fob won't start car, it just clicks. Putting the key in the ignition wont start the car. I've had the car for 3 months and it spent 1 month with the mechanic. Nothing seems to fix this problem and Dodge won't help us.

Kbb shows ignition recall on the 2010 Dodge journey my vehicle randomly shuts off while driving with no other issues. Some days it does fine. Could be a couple weeks and then will randomly shut off making it very unsafe for a family vehicle. Dodge dealership says there no open recall on the vehicle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dec. 29th 2010. I have a 2010 Dodge journey r/t. It is not even a year old. It has taken me several times to turn the car on each time I get in the car. It stalls while I am driving. The lights on the dash and nav flash on and off for some crazy reason. The alignment is and has always been off. The car moves toward the right. The steering wheel shakes when I slow down. Now the brakes are making noises. I have taken it to two dealerships to be serviced numerous times and they can not find anything wrong. Was leaving work and lost steering. Upon checking realized there was no power steering fluid in car. I added power steering fluid and started car it immediately started running out of the car just inside and behind the right front tire. Upon further inspection I discovered the rubber line had simply slid off of the hard line. It slid right back on. The factory "spring" clamp can be compressed with my fingers. I took it off and replaced with a worm gear clamp to insure that it stays on. This could have been a real danger if it had happened at highway speed. I am attaching a picture of original clamp.

Roughly 3 weeks ago, I was driving home from work and my headlights would not come on. When I made it home, I tried turning the lights off and on. They would pop on for a few seconds and then go right back out. After a day or two, ,y son came over and changed the bulbs for the headlights. They worked for about 3 weeks. My 2010 Dodge journey's engine stalls and I have no power steering or brakes while I am driving. This problem happened first in nov. 2015 with around 68000 miles on vehicle and thought it was a fluke or caused by bad weather. It started to happen several times again march/april 2016. Dealership could not find the problem. Took it back in to dealership in june 2016, still could not find issue. Continued to happen and took it in september for that and other issues (horn going off randomly and battery draining overnight). Horn blew intermittently at first when shutting doors, and occasionally for no reason. Windows would go down part way when doors were shut. Ignition would sometimes just click click when key is turned, wipers would move when not engaged to be on. Battery would go complexly dead for no reason and then be ok for a month or two and then do it again. Had to disconnect the horn a few years ago as it would not stop going off. Has been in to kayer Chrysler, Dodge service several times and they could not find issue. They just called and said they founsd. Short in the main electrical component and it will cost $1100plus for part and up to $200 to install. We have had these issues since we bought it. When braking at speeds above 50 MPH, there is a violent shake in the vehicle. Vehicle is only 5 years old, and now needs a third set of brake pads and rotors. This is a clear and well known problem with the 2009 and 2010 journeys, yet the dealer (and Chrysler) refuses to acknowledge or fix it. When called Chrysler, I was told "they stand behind their dealership & the dealership says it's "normal wear and tear", so they will not authorize the repair". So basically, even though you are a loyal customer (one who has never bought anything by mopar), they don't care. *js

The transmission will shift from park into drive with a loud clang and jerk. This occurs when you pull up and stop, turn motor off, restart and put into drive. Then at other times hesitates to shift. Brakes will push themselves down with no pressure given by driver. Front end on uneven patches of roadway will thump as thought it is loose and wobble. *tr

The problem I encountered was that the steering wheel shakes violently if brakes are pressed at 60 MPH. The mechanics at carmax, machined the rotors and replaced the brake pads which seemed to fix the problem. Roughly 3.5 to 4 months later, I had the same problem. This time, the mechanics at carmax replaced the rotors and the front brakes. The vehicle was once again placed into service last wednesday on december 18, 2013. Once again, the rotors were machined and the brakes replaced. I purchased the vehicle o january 17, 2013 with the starting mileage of 34,904. I have put roughly 10,000 miles on the vehicle.
