My car Nissan sentra 2010 broke down on parking lot at my workplace (lack of electricity) on nov 30, 2010. At that time I was not aware about a recall for positive cable to car's battery. With my colleagues at work we tried to use jumping cables to start the engine. After unsuccessful attempts car was towed to kendrick's Nissan in lafayette indiana. The next day dealer's technical adviser told me that ECM is broken and it looks that I burned it during re-start engine attempt using wrongly (reversing) cables. He added that I broke a warranty and I have to pay $871 for repair. I believe that diagnosis is not correct and that the reason for car starting problem was faulty connection cable which could also cause some other damages during a re-start attempt. *tr

Issue with the oxygen sensor. There is a known issue with the knock sensor sending wrong information to the ECU causing the engine to adjust timing. I've gone through 3 catalytic converters due to this issue. Nissan says they're unaware of the problem and know of no fix. Going through forums, it appears the only way to stop engine from over compensating the timing is to isolate the knock sensor from the engine with a rubber o ring. I have done the repair, but can only use premium fuel or risk catastrophic engine failure. It only appears to happen to the 2007 to 2012 se-r spec-v (manual transmission). I have replaced all wiring harnesses, ECU, sensors and everything else associated with the fuel system. It tends to happen after a few minutes of turning car on. Goes away sometimes a

The first incident I was reversing out of spot and the engine just shut off, I had no control of gas however lights and dashboard errors were displayed. I put car in park, turned ignition off and tried to start up car with success . So I thought maybe something strange happened and I went on with my life. Over the next few years this kept happening months even years apart at the strangest times. For example the most recent time it happened I had stopped at a stop sign and when starting to accelerate the car just shut off like it has so many times . By now I started thinking maybe this is more than a coincidence and actually saw a recall online for the same problem. Only this time the car wouldn't start back up. I had it towed to Nissan and told them my suspicions on the recall and I get a

Pulling into parking space and felt a "pop" as the wheel turned. I turned the wheel back and forth and noticed there was no resistance when turning the wheel to the left. I turned car off with the wheel still turned to the left and looked at driver side wheel and noticed the wheel was pointed to the right. I looked at the right wheel and it was pointed to the left. I looked at the left wheel and saw that the tie rod had snapped in half. There was no accident and there were no cement parking barriers present. *tr

On my 2010 Nissan sentra s - ps warning light (power steering) comes on, and I have no power steering (so very hard to turn the car left or right). I re-start the car and ps warning light disappears, though sometimes I have to start the car a few times before the ps light goes off !. This has been happening frequently especially in the mornings/evening and it is a potentially dangerous. I called up Nissan and they mentioned that there is a recall with Nissan altima for this issue, but not with Nissan sentra. On the net I see discussions about this issue with other cars having electrical ps similar to Nissan sentra (eg. Nissan versa & altima) there should be a recall for ps issue with Nissan sentra as well, since this is potentially dangerous and a security risk.

I purchased a used 2010 Nissan sentra sl on july 5, 2014 from a Nissan dealer. The very next day I discovered that when I moved the sun visor down to block the sun rays while driving, each time I moved the visor down or up it hit the rear view mirror. I needed to readjust the mirror before it was useful again. When the sun is just above the horizon it is particularly dangerous because it's impossible to set the visor to block the sun rays from hitting my eyes while driving due to the positioning of the mirror in relation to the visor. This feels very dangerous when driving in heavy traffic because the mirror needs to be reset every time the visor is moved up or down. These seems a major factory installation glitch. I complained to the Nissan service manager where I bought the car. He said
