In august 2016, I received an "important safety recall" #30710 from Buick. The explanation was "the wiring harness for the power seats may contact the seat frame, chafe, a short circuit could occur, resulting in inoperative power seat adjustments, flickering lights on the instrument panel, sparking or smoke under the seat, and possible fire." having not heard anything, I contacted my agency on 9/22/16 and was told "no parts were available." on 11/23/16, burns Buick said, "gm has no solution. I contacted gm and spoke with [xxx] who did not have an answer. On 11/30/16, gm's [xxx] suggested that no date or supplies have been set. Do I need to have a fire in my car while my grandchildren are in the back seat for gm to finally determine this is really an "important safety recall?" why shoul

I have the recall on the power seat wiring and my heated seats heat to a level then shut off continuously. I have a friend had the same issue in a camaro and had chafed wires to the heated seat. I refuse to pay for this repair and now in michigan it is very cold and I bought this car to have heated seats for a reason. The copied information is below on the recall. The dealer keeps telling me no parts are available but here I am stuck with a potential fire hazard with no repair. Manufacturer: general motors llc summary: general motors llc (gm) is recalling certain model year 2011 Buick regal vehicles manufactured november 3, 2009, to march 25, 2011, equipped with 8-way power adjustable front seats. The power seat wiring harness may contact the seat frame, causing the wires to chafe.

My car has been blowing light bulbs very frequently. I noticed that the wire what is chard and burned and naked resulting in the wires touching each other and causing my lights to fail. I replace the wiring harness once and two months later the insulation was burnt off of the wire again. There has been 2 instances where ive been driving and my headlights have went completely out at night time and I live in a rural area where there's not a lot of street lights. It almost caused me to wreck. It's not just my vehicle that has this issue. I have three friends who either drive a regal themselves or have a close family member that has one and all three of them have told me that they're experiencing the same issues. This is definitely a safety concern. And if it were to happen to somebody else wh

Driver side headlamp draws moisture, keeps blowing bulbs at 104.99 a pop. Water gets in the headlight assembly and shorts out the ballast. This happens even when driving down the road at random. It could be pitch black and suddenly you have no headlights and are forced to drive with only fog lamps

12/10/2022 ODI #11496846.0

Moisture has been collecting in both headlight assemblies for the past 3 years, whenever the car is outside or driven in the rain. Recently, this caused both high/low beam headlights to burn out. Replacing the bulbs is not enough, as the bulbs immediately burn out/smoke and blow out because of the water accumulation. On the driver side headlight, there was actually standing water in the headlight assembly that came pouring out when the cover was removed to replace the bulb. Dealership says both headlight assemblies must be replaced entirely to resolve the issue, due to corrosion. The vehicle has never been in an accident (there are NO cracks from collision, etc.). This appears to be a manufacturing defect or an issue with seal. This is a crazy expensive repair, to have to have the entire

Check engine light illuminated at 82000 miles. Using the scan tool from a local auto parts store, I observed that the OBD-ii codes were p0016 and p0017. Around the time that the check engine light came on, I noticed that the shifting done by the automatic transmission seemed jerky, and that the engine was noisier than usual even when idling. Generally the miles on this car accumulate from equal time spent on both city and highway conditions. The engine rough idle and choppy gear shifting were apparent during both types of conditions. The check engine light remained lit for five days before I took it to the dealership for diagnosis. Dealership diagnosis said "jumped timing chain front guide came apart p0011 p0014 p0016 p0017 set in system." the dealership replaced the timing chain using

I previously reported an issue in 2016 with engine failure due to timing chain failure where I was driving down the highway in heavy traffic and immediately there was engine failure, loss of power and was put in a very unsafe position. After I coasted my car, with 4 ways on, to the side of the road I called a tow truck which towed me to the nearest gm dealer which was victory Chevy in milan michigan. After some diagnosis they informed me of the complete timing chain failure and internal engine damage. At the time I had 111k miles on the odometer. I was informed the car needed a complete rebuild and I voiced my displeasure about the failure so soon after the expiration of the 100k warranty. What gm did agree to was to split the repair 60-40 where I was responsible for approx. $2700 of the r

The morning of dec 8 I was pulling into my job parking lot and the engine shut off 3 times. After work on the way home I noted a rough idle. I pulled into a gas station and it shut off again. I was about 100 yards from my gm dealership so I parked it there for service/repair the next day. I was called on the 10th and was told it was the timing chain and this repair would cost approx. $2200. I was then told on the 12th that the timing sprocket and cam shaft would have to be replaced adding cost to this poor material or poor workmanship. I remember a recall on a engine earlier in the year that I thought the dealership repaired which I believe was something involved with the cam shaft but I know they had to go into the engine. This shutting off while the vehicle is in operation really scared
