The night of 12/29/2018 about 10pm at an approximate speed of 45mph I experienced a loss of power steering while driving my 2011 Chevrolet malibu home from the mountains and steering became very difficult and we almost ran off of the road down a steep embankment. A service ESC and power steering light was on the dash. I restarted the engine and the warning lights went out and the power steering worked again and being in a dark remote area with no cell service I slowly drove home without further problem. I researched the reason I had over the internet and found gm is aware of this obvious (potential deadly) safety issue but I've owned this car 6 years and was never notified about this problem. A check VIN of recalls for this vehicle do not show this problem but when I called the Chevy deale

Started the car to go to work . On the screen came up power steering ESC and service traction control, the traction control was also on and the car had no power steering. I had it towed to the dealership they replaced the cable and battery. Was going to go to the store today and the same thing happened no power steering. Not really driving the car this weekend. It's dangerous if it would shut down while driving in the snow. Like everyone else that has filed a complaint if I shut the car off and wait a little bit and restart I have power steering again
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet malibu. While driving at various speeds, the check engine, electronic stability control, traction control, and electric power steering warning lights illuminated. The vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. In addition, in rainy weather conditions, water leaked through the hood onto the brake lever and the steering wheel seized. The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle, but the failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v252000 (electrical system, electronic stability control, exterior lighting, service brakes, hydraulic, vehicle speed control). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Steering wheel "shakes" as of 12/2016 vehicle has approx 92,000 miles purchased vehicle new in nov 2010 four new tires june 2015 full alignment august 2016. Brand new brake pads and brand new rotors, all 4 wheels, november 2016. Description of incident (and condition): steering wheel has been rattling noticeably at freeway speeds (40 MPH to 75 MPH) and while tracking a straight line. This has been occurring since the vehicle hit the 40,000 mile mark. Can feel slight movement in the steering wheel coincident with this rattling of the steering wheel. Does not appear to affect ability of the vehicle to track a straight line while moving. The rattle also occurs at lower speeds less than 40 MPH, but it harder to discern since the city street road conditions in se wisconsin are terr
As I was driving my 2011 Chevy malibu home to tulsa ok from arkansas my car dropped speed, I lost my power steering, the reduced engine power light came on, service traction ESC light came on too. When this happened I was on the highway driving 65 MPH and then the car lost speed down to 15 MPH. I was almost hit on the highway. I made it off the highway and stopped at a store but could not figure out what was wrong. I made it home barely and the next morning my car started and I've had no problems until monday dec. 22nd when I was leaving work to go home the same thing happened. I stopped and turned my car off for a little while then when I restarted it was fine. Had no more problems until christmas eve when my fiance and I were headed to texas to be with relatives. We had to pull over abo

My passenger low beam keeps going out. I have gotten it changed 4 times and the last 2 months. No one knows the problem and the bulbs are no t burning out it just stops working. I have spoken to a number of people that have the same year body and make that has been dealing with the same exact issue as me.
Front passenger headilight keeps going out at any time. It's not the bulb, but the connector.
The low beam portion of headlights started going out and back on periodically while driving I've replaced the bulbs twice within 6 months and it continues to repeat issue the bulbs are not blown. Multiple reports online of this issue but no recall. If headlights fail during dark driving conditions could cause serious or even fatal accidents.the information online suggests wiring harness issues

Once last winter I started my car at 4:30 am to travel to work. I noticed my defroster was not working. My car had been running for 15 minutes and was warmed up. I chose not to drive my car since I could not see out of my windshield. This summer, my car did the same thing after work one day. The blower motor was not working. I got a mile down the road and it started working. It grew more frequent and I asked the dealer to diagnose it. We paid $90 for that. They told me that my blower motor needed replaced and that it would be $500 since it had to have a specialized kit installed. I have driven my car the last 2 days with no heat whatsoever in 15 degree weather. It has not snowed or sleeted so I am able to do so safely except when my windshield starts to fog up. GMC installed a
Drove car this morning and couple miles later the car lost most of its power and service ESC lights became illuminated as well as engine light too. Now car is slower and shaking violently when accelerating. Also shakes real bad when stationary. Driving around 35-45 MPH. Can't drive now due to lost power and ESC issues/ looks like it is a common historic issue with these malibu as internet is polluted with complaints about it and looks like gm can't find problem. As well gm tells me on the phone just now that my VIN number is not part of any recall notice while the problems go back to 2003 and covers every other malibu except mine it appears. Really? Bought is local as a pre owned vehicle with only about 30k on it. Sounds like gm is trying to skirt the issue of owning up to the prob
2011 Chevrolet malibu has experienced numerous occasions with "hiccups" (temporary loss of power) while driving followed by flashing warning light of traction control then followed with "service ESC... Service ECM... ESC off". Service engine light also came on and stayed on. By the time we took the vehicle to gm service the engine service light was off and they could not duplicate the problem or get a code but recommended a new ECM. Problem occurred again and returned back to gm service with same result and recommendation. My wife commutes 1.5 hours per day and also drives our 3 children to school each day. After having the vehicle continue with these issues, the vehicle finally stalled completely, on 2 separate occasions, in heavy traffic but would eventually start and run again. She

Since march 2014, I had instances where the Chevy malibu I was driving warned me on the dash that I needed to service the ESC. It would tell me ESC turned off and traction control turned off. This message would disappear when I turned the car off and restarted. It started doing it more frequently so I called GMC on august 2nd. I had to wait 2 weeks until they could get me in to the dealer. This whole time my car was shutting off my traction control. The malfunction indicator light came on solid and stayed on for 3 days on september 12th. They paid to diagnose and found that my 4th cylinder was missing and was leaking 45%. On september 17th, they suggested $140 for a carbon coil flush to see if it could possible fix the problem. On september 25th they did the coil flush at 10 am.
I was driving to maryland for christmas break on i95 going 70 MPH on cruise control when all the sudden my car made a noise and shook. Then the ESC message came up on my dashboard along with the traction control symbol "service traction ESC."then my car switched to reduced engine power and I was only able to go 25 MPH. I was in the middle of traffic and had to turn on my hazards and make my way over to the shoulder to inch my way to the next exit. When I got to the shoulder the car was shaking like it would stall out and sounded like it was misfiring. I shut my car off and waited about five minutes. When I turned it back on I was able to drive another 20 miles before the same thing happened again. This happened 6 times before I finally made it to a mechanic who told me that I had a bad thr

to begin with CD player stopped working the service tire light stays on the seat adjuster went out this is used to support your back while driving while driving on a residential road the car would not go in drive. The car just suddenly stopped while in drive. It goes in reverse and stays in park but the other gears do not work. It was a good thing that I was on a residential road and not the freeway. I keep having to repair the headlights left and right they keep burning out for some reason. Gets frustrating. And I have been pulled over for a burned headlight but the officer was aware the the make and model of my car have defects with headlights. He didn't site me but said to get it fixed.

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Chevrolet malibu. While driving approximately 20 MPH, a warning indicator illuminated that the acceleration would began to decrease to approximately 5-10 MPH. The vehicle began to shake and the contact depressed the brake pedal. When attempting to apply the brakes, the vehicle lunged forward. The contact was able to pull the vehicle over and place it in park to turn off the vehicle. The contact noticed the warning indicator illuminated again, indicating the traction control, engine, and ESC failed and needed servicing. The contact diagnosed the vehicle at home and received error code p-2135, which indicated that the throttle sensor position needed repairing. The vehicle had not been to the dealer.
