This issue happened back June 2025 when I make a wide turn, the car automatically go into limp mode and all the lights on the dashboard that is related to the brake system comes on, so for example, the advanced traction control sensor, the brake mode, the traction mode and the ABS mode and this is very dangerous because I realize when I am driving locally, and if I’m in the middle of a major intersection, I can be struck because I would have to immediately turn my car off turn it back on and then it will start moving again. Sometimes it takes a while for it to start moving again.

Brakes became hard and vehicle wouldn’t stop. Took to dealer and was diagnosed as a faulty brake booster. Discovered this is a known factory defect specific to our vehicle (letters sent out in 2014 but we didn’t get one) Ford won’t repair free of charge because the vehicle is over 10 years. It’s a granny car driven rarely (51000 miles), in show room shape, and didn’t manifest the condition until now. Even if we had received a letter and had it inspected years ago, we all know it would not have shown the problem as it would not have existed yet. We can’t afford repairs caused by the manufacturer. This is the second time we’ve been screwed by Ford. The first was over Ford Sync and their black screen. This current condition is dangerous and could kill somebody. Ford needs to recall these vehi

I had break issues where the pedal was tight and it took a lot of pressure to stop. Took it to the dealer resulting in the break booster being replaced under warranty. Maybe 3 months later I had more problems breaking. This time the pedal was soft and would travel to the floor while breaking. This time the dealer says it's the hydraulic control unit. Sounds like both parts should be under warranty and replaced at the same time.

During everyday driving the brake peddle appears spongy. Upon applying brakes you hear a hissing sound and the peddle must be pushed several inches prior to the feel of brakes being applied. This is a dangerous condition which needs to be addressed through a recall to prevent injury or death.

12/28/2019 60,000 mi ODI #11291725.0

The SUV gave me a blinking engine light. Decoding to a misfire problem. The first time I had the car looked at they replaced the coil packs. About 10,000 miles later I got the same misfire problem. Some of the coil packs were melted. I had the SUV towed to a garage and they said the engine control module is defective. They replaced the control module for $1500.00. Yikes. Dealer told me that Ford motor company knows the ECM is defective but won't recall so I have to pay for their screw up. Want a refund from Ford.

Door ajar warning - my front, driver's side door constantly states that it is ajar. This causes the interior lights to remain on longer than necessary, the doors will not lock while the vehicle is in motion and the door ajar warning remains on at all times. Others have suggested using wd40 and lubricants to clean the sensor. I've tried this, and it worked for a few times, but this is no longer working.

Door ajar light remains on constantly. Dome light stays on after car is off, draining the battery. Unable to lock doors while car is running. Dome light remains on until speed of 15 MPH is reached, making it very difficult to see at night.

12/26/2016 ODI #10937474.0

Driver door light ajar comes on even if the door is closed. It keeps the interior lights on for long periods of time and I had to replace a battery already. Thought it was just a sensor.now I found out others are having the same problem... *tr

The driver door sensor is not working correctly. The driver door ajar notification remains on once the door is closed, and the interior light will not turn off. I also cannot lock my doors. I end up driving with the interior light on because it will not go out. At night time, this is especially dangerous, not to mention it drains the battery by staying on when not being driven. When I exit the car and shut the door, it takes me up to five minutes sometimes to open and re-shut the door to eventually get the sensor to register and the light to go off. It's ridiculous and frustrating. I hope that this issue will lead to a recall because I have seen a lot of complaints about it. My car just hit 62k miles. I saw others having the same issue at the same mileage.

Takata recall the driver's side door latch does not work properly causing the alarm to go off unexpectedly, as well as "door ajar" displayed when you get into the vehicle and close the door. Manually flipping the switch up with fingers sometimes works, but not reliable and seems to be a concern for driving down the interstate hearing air coming in because the door isn't securely latched. This needs to be addressed by Ford as it seems to be an engineering error. *tr

Upon filling the gas tank, once park in the garage there is an overpowering smell of gasoline. I've cleaned the filler seal, checked for leaks "none noted." no fuel on the ground beneath the vehicle. The tank is not over filled, no residual fuel around the filler neck or running down the overfill drain. Fuel smell goes away after the tank is between 3/4 to 1/2 full. This is a dangerous situation which needs to be addressed by a recall. I suspect that there is a bad seal on the fuel pump or tank my be damaged

I was driving my Ford edge on route 303 in phoenix at about 60 miles per hour when the car suddenly started shaking and losing power. It allowed me to drive a very short distance until I was able to stop the car, in a turn lane with a tractor trailer on my tail ...very disconcerting! A yellow wrench light was showing along with some notice about my traction being off, I believe. After sitting a few minutes I was able to move it off the turn lane and into a fairly safe lane ahead. Fortunately a policeman pulled up behind me and I shut off the engine and called aaa for a tow. 20 minutes later, I turned on the engine which now seemed fine so the policeman suggested that I pull forward into a safer area. After doing sotheby's car seemed fine again so I drove it to my daughter's house se

I was just driving along, and all of the sudden the 2011 Ford edge just stalled completely and would not move, so I was able to pull over to the side of the road when all of the sudden the whole care began to shake violently. The display showed a wrench and said to check owners manual, which according to fords owners manual means power train problem. I was able to restart the vehicle and drive it and it acted like nothing happened, got to work and parked. Later that day drove it about a mile with no incident. Left work and just pulled out of the lot same thing happened, stalled and shook violently so I turned the car off. It started with no problem, went to pull back in the lot and it all happened again.
