2011 Honda Odyssey owner complaints

In 2011 after we bought the vehicle we took a trip to colorado where our brakes failed, I was pushing the brakes gently down a hill and after about 1 minute the car started to shake violently, I thought I had a flat so I pulled over and checked but the tires were fine, than I realized that the disc brakes have warped making the car difficult to slow down, after we made it back home we took the car back to the dealer were they turned the brakes to smooth it out and told us it was fine. It was fine for a little while 2-3 months when it started doing it again, we took the car back to the dealer again this time they replaced the discs in the front but they didn't want to we just had to fight with them to get it done. Soft brake pedal goes to the floor. Took to shop brake system had to be reveled. After 2 weeks doing same problem. Master cylinder been checked with no issues

I have been experiencing a front creaking noise on my vehicle when I'm turning at low speeds. I've add the van in twice for the repair and was covered under the warranty. My van needs to now go in again for the third time and it's not under warranty. There is a service bulletin out for this, 11-038

12/23/13-while driving on i95 at 65mph the vehicle engine shut off without warning but the radio/lights remained on, vehicle became difficult to steer and brakes had to be pushed to the floor, vehicle came to a stop on the side of the road approx 300 feet later. Vehicle restarted and was driven to dealership, dealer stated could not be replicated and that fuel system needed to be cleaned, service performed as suggested. 12/25/13- while coming to a traffic light, engine shut down without warning but radio/lights remained on, restarted and drove home. 12/26/13- while approaching stop sign vehicle engine failed but radio/lights remained on as in accessory mode, steering and braking became difficult to control vehicle, this time the engine light came on and remained lit. Check engine light would pop on for a small amount of time periodically since I purchased it, took it to shop where they stated everything was fine..as check engine light was no longer on. Just started smelling burning when drove for long periods of time. Yesterday, on the way home with my 8 year old daughter, in freezing upstate NY temps, the gears totally went out. Thankfully I was right next to house and able to put in park and back into drive to get it to click into first gear to get us to house. Gears went out in mid drive, going 60 mph.

The contact owns a 2011 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated when entering the vehicle and adjusting the front driver seat there was a loud abnormal clicking noise. In addition, the plastic coverage underneath the seat was unhinged and not connected to the seat. The contact stated while seated, the upper frame of the seat suddenly fell back on its own. The contact checked underneath the seat and noticed the bolts connected to the seat frame to the floor of the vehicle were loose and tighten up the connection however the failure persisted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The engine shutters at low speeds and going up hill. Honda declines to accept the issue. Battery low indicator warning pops up even when the battery is flooded. May need a software update to battery management system.

On 3/8/14, I purchased this van as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from an authorized Honda dealership, but wasn't notified of known defects resulting from the Alex Soto v American Honda Motor Co, Inc class action suit. The suit wasn't finalized until 4/10/14, yet Honda NEVER notified me, as REQUIRED by the settlement. Had I been notified prior to purchase, I would NOT have purchased the van. If I'd been notified per the settlement's requirement(s), I could've used Indiana's Lemon Law to nullify the purchase. Honda PURPOSELY withheld the suit's settlement and associated SB 13-081 from me, even though I did receive OTHER SBs and recall notices from them (which is UDAP/fraudulent concealment). Since 5/1/25, I've spent over $10,000 repairing the van, caused by these known defects and it require

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Honda odyssey. The contact was driving 57 MPH when the vehicle crashed into a deer. The front passenger side air bags deployed but the driver's side air bags failed to deploy. The vehicle was not destroyed. The police were contacted and a police report was filed. There were no injuries. The vehicle was towed to a local repair shop and the manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileages were 9,955.

An unlocked second row outboard seat need to be replaced. Recalled on last dec 2016, but still incomplete

Rear seat passenger of uber vehicle struck by another vehicle in high impact collision wound up on floor of vehicle. She believes she engaged the seat belt prior to collision & questions why she was thrown on to floor of vehicle. Both vehicles in motion. Other vehicle ran a stop sign at 60 MPH on city street.

In june of this year my wife took her van in for TPMS lite being on. Was told the the tire valve nut holding it to the wheel had come loose and replaced the entire valve, nut, and washer. Also told by the service advisor that they see a lot of these was a common happening. This month december 2017 she took it again for the TPMS lite came on again. As before they replaced assembly she paid her bill and left. Here's my concern for her safety as well as mine. If traveling at a high speed and this nut came loose the lite would come on, but if valve came totally loose and tire overheated and blew out wouldn't this be a safety concern? Most of this was overnight once and then driving it once.

Replaced the spark plugs for 2nd time in about 5000 miles or less, many error codes I cant erase.burning oil, Honda says it needs piston ring replacement, but they said it is out of warranty I called Honda another location they said the delivery date is 12/3/2010, but they never released the sale date. They have given me estimates of $4,000 to replace the motor or $2,000 to fix it, but I believe it is still under the 8-year warranty period. I have lost business now because I do not have a vehicle I can use for my taxi/shuttle business. I do not know if I should throw a used motor from junk yard in there. How do I know that Honda is not trying to scam me over on the warranty? This issue only says it has affected about 1.5 million vehicles and Honda has settled a class action lawsuit

This vehicle usually surges while moving slowly in a line of traffic. It doesn't happen all the time but it makes for very nervous driving because it will continue happening until I'm away from other traffic and moving at a normal speed. It will also happen when I turn into a parking area which requires going up an incline. If it's very steep , I may spin my tires not expecting the sudden acceleration. This surge seems to me as if the carburetor fuel bowl is empty while idling and when it refills, by my pressing on the gas pedal, it causes the car to lunge ahead. I have asked my local Honda dealer if he has a solution to this hazard and have been told that this something that the " Honda manufacturer has installed" and that my complaint is not the first they have heard of this happeni

The TPMS cannot be reset, all tires check and the alarm still on. *tr

I purchased a 2011 white Honda odyssey from a small time dealer on nov 2012. I observed that the roof of the car had its paint peeling off after about a year 2013 nov. I went to a reputed dealer, who acknowledged the paint issues with Honda but told that 2011 models are not one of those. He contacted Honda and came back with an offer of $400 to cover the paint issues. But that would no way cut it and I feel cheated and ripped to have bought a Honda. Will never buy a Honda again.

I was at a stoplight on 11/16/23; when it was my turn to go (green light) I went to accelerate, and my engine seemed to sputter/choke or misfire before accelerating at a slower than normal rate and then the engine light came on -flashing- and then the traction control/VSA system indicator light came on my dashboard. I was able to make it home, but when we googled the symptoms: Rough idling Lack of power Engine vibrating or shaking Decreased fuel efficiency Illuminated check engine light Illuminated traction control/VSA system / VSA indicator light we saw that we could have a traffic safety issue and did not need to drive it as normal- take it to repair as soon as possible. I contacted our local EXPRESS OIL Mechanic to see if he could read the engine codes, advise us, and possibly fix ou
