On the reported date my 2011 Jeep compass 2.4l 4x4 was remote started and ran for approximately 15-20 minutes before getting in and driving off. The engine had warmed up about half way to operating temperature. The temperature was 13 degrees fahrenheit outside. Once I left and pulled out onto the street the transmission threw out 3 small and quick jerks. This happened 3 more times before getting onto the interstate. This is a brand new CVT less than a year old. The last CVT did the same shudder in the cold before it blew out a month later with 115,000 miles on it (barely out of warranty). The Jeep CVT seems to be under built for cold temperatures because the new transmission only has about 15,000 miles on it and is doing the exact same thing. Note: I was babying the throttle to get up to o

When I drove it would seem to lose power and not accelerate like when on highway changing lanes. I was almost in a big accident, had to limp off mass pike highway to garage and after cooled down was able to limp back home instead of continuing to my destination, staying off highway. It often smelled hot. Since then it got worse just driving around town and made a squealing sound and now won't drive at all even though motor is running. Last week it stopped in middle of street when driving and had to have it towed. This is very dangerous and I cant afford a $1500 plus repair for something that is a design flaw. My sisters 2015 Jeep was recalled for same issues.
While driving the vehicle is magically stopped accelerating going 55 MPH on a two lane highway in the country. There are/were no issues with the engine as the car would not move forward or reverse as I pressed on the gas pedal. Credible/nationally recognized vehicle repair shop stated the transmission needs replacement (123,500 miles).
The transmission overheat light comes on often and causes the car to lose power and or stall. This happens on any type of driving scenario highway, residential or stationary. I will take my foot off the gas and the light will go off. The windshield wipers will come on my themselves and I will have to physically turn them on and off for them to stop. More recently my oil change indicator came on when I have at least 1000 more miles before my car is due for an oil change
speedometer doesn't work, ABS, Brakes, engine and traction light keeps on. THE SHIFT LEVER CHANGES BY ITSELF FROM D TO M while driving. ABS module has to be replaced at my cost when other 2011 jeep compass have a recall F 50 for the same issue.
I was driving my car and started to press on the gas and the RPM went up really high and my car wasn't moving. I was getting onto a main highway. I had lots of cars beeping at me. It was scary because I thought I was going to be stuck there forever.

Involved in side impact vehicle collision on passenger side of my 2011 Jeep compass. Side air curtain did not deploy resulting in my wife being knocked unconscious and suffering a concussion from hitting the passenger door glass. Impact was to her door and should have set off the air bag system and avoided her injury. *tr

Most of the time when making a slow right turn on uneven road, you can hear a load popping or snapping sound coming from the left front area, of the lower control arm. Almost sounds as bolts are snapping apart. *tr

Horn dose not work, but believe it goes deeper than just horn issue. I have seen a trend with these vehicles thru numerous sources such as internet forums ect. Being that the horn can be considered a safety feature.I think the root of the problem is a computer, electrical or a fuse box issue. Took vehicle to Jeep dealer yesterday to get fixed, called later that day to pick up vehicle said it was fixed, got home horn did not work.
We (my husband and I) were driving down the freeway to work at 7:00am when it is still dark outside, when all the lights shut off (headlights, dash lights and the hazards would not work). The windshield wipers then shut off and it was raining outside. We had the Jeep towed home. I then did some research and found that one of the complaints that compass owners have is the tipm will go out and cause some serious problems with the whole vehicle. I had to have it fixed at the dealership for $651.00 because it is a dealer specific part. I don't understand why this part has not been recalled in the compass when it has been recalled for the grand cherokee, wrangler and durango. This could have caused a horrible accident if my husband wasn't so quick to get the Jeep off the road and get us out of

Tried to get inspected and refused dealer said subframe is rusted and rear-crossmember rusted , dealer smail said. Not covered under extended warrenty !! So my question is why would my jerp frame be rusted when it's a 2011 !!
2011 Jeep compass 4wd. Had shaking in steering wheel and a wheel wobble. Even at driving 40mph or lower. Mechanic said the cradle/crossmember was rusted out. At 8 years old, the engine cradle should not be rusted out. Huge safety hazard.

The contact stated that the window shattered and caused a hole the size of a volleyball in the rear window. The manufacturer was contacted and was unable to provide assistance. The dealer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 91,000.

When changing burned daytime running bulb I noticed that the socket was very hot and burned brown. At the same time I noticed that the frame reflector had lost its reflecting surface. I controlled the other side and the same had happened to the other side frame and socket and was burning hot. I was upset if there was a danger of fire. Please note that I cannot but my address there below, because the system does not accept european addresses and cannot delete the "alabama". However I want to report this incident because the car is us made.

Wipers go off when making a turn and/or turning signal light on. Vehicle randomly gets engine light on cold days (new england winters). The Jeep will jolt when trying to accelerate or stall for a moment before being able to accelerate when stopped (at a light for example) and some nights the Jeep will not accelerate even when pushing down on the accelerate and no "revving" sound occurs as though the car does not register that it needs to accelerate and acceleration slowly increases to no more than 25-30 MPH and stalls at an incline. No light comes on when accelerating issues occur. When accelerating issues occur, they ten to occur inner city rather than highway.
brakes 1 complaint shown
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Jeep compass. The contact stated that while driving approximately 20 MPH, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop until after several attempts. The failure occurred continuously when driving at various speeds. The vehicle was taken to three different authorized dealers who stated the front brake pads and rotors would need to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 31,000.

We had our Jeep at the local mechanic for a pre winter check up. He found the rear crossmember broken and the front crossmember had holes in it due to corrosion. The vehicle has 211,000 km on it and we’ve owned since new with zero collisions or even a fender bender. Jeep had an extended warranty on these pcs but has denied our claim as 10 years have passed. In my mind this is a safety issue as the wheel assembly could physically break free causing loss of control of the vehicle. These are parts related to the structural integrity of the vehicle and not a normal wear and tear item. This vehicle has been serviced by our local journeyman mechanic licensed in Alberta. It was at our local dealership on September 15/2017 for a recall but there is no record of inspection of these crossmembers. Je
