Engine fire, extinguished by the fire dept. Car was parked at the time. Dealer informed us that the fire recall was completed on 10-29-2021 and now we are over the 150,000 mileage warranty so no repair can be done by Kia. I will submit 2 more claims for transmission and brakes for the same Kia.

I can not open both driver door and rear right passenger door from outside it seems the latches for these doors are broken I have always to jump to the passenger side to open these doors.I think there must be a recall to be reported to Kia manufacturers to fix this defective doors.
The driver's door does not open from the outside
Numerous times over the past couple of months, both the ESC and dbc indicator lights will come on and stay on as I'm attempting to park the vehicle. This has prevented me from shifting the car into 'park' after pulling into a parking space as I can't get it to shift beyond 'neutral.' when this happens, I've had to shut the car off, and start it again. If the indicator lights go off after restarting, I can then shift the car into park. I brought the car into my local Kia dealer this morning but they were unable to replicate the issue, and since they didn't have a technician on duty to look at it, I now have to return on monday in the hope that they can figure out and fix this issue.
When I quired about vehicle recall was told to contact nhtsa to get a recall fixed with my vehicle
Tl* the contact owns a 2011 Kia sorento. The contact stated that the passenger and driver side door failed to open from the outside of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the latches fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

Engine light flashes fast then Kia will slow down to about 30 mph when going up a hill, I've make claims on this Kia for the fire loss, transmission, brakes and now it won't run unless I pay $85 to have the sensor reset which lasts a short time and the light starts flashing again. Was told it doesn't qualify for a new engine because the mileage is over 150,000.
While driving through a shopping plaza, going about 15mph,the vehicle suddenly shut off, causing the loss of all power assist functions and electrical operation. The electrical came back on-line right away, but the car had to be restarted. The second time it happened was in rush hour traffic, 4 days later. The car was coasting at about 25 MPH when it shut down again. *kb
While driving the vehicle and while pressing the gas pedal the vehicle starts to come to a stop as if the gas pedal is not being applied. I have to release the gas pedal and press it again for the sorento to respond and continue to accelerate. I took it to the dealer and they have no clue as to what is the problem. They reset the computer and released the vehicle to me but the problem persists. *kb
The engine on my 2011 Kia Sorento has failed and the mechanic at the Kia dealership told me it was because of the rod bearings. My car was serviced at the Kia dealership in April 2021 and apparently 2 weeks later an ECU update recall was placed on my vehicle. I did not receive anything notifying me of this update. In November of 2021 my engine started making a loud noise and then failed to turn on. The mechanic at the Kia dealership told me had I had the sensor updated prior to the noise starting it would have alerted us to the rod bearings causing damage but since the update had never happened the rod bearings caused my engine to fail. According to the dealership I should be covered under the recall but Kia headquarters are denying to cover it since I am over my mileage warranty. I h

I'm supposed to park my 2011 Sorento outside and away from structures, and not drive it until Kia comes up with a part/solution to fix the engine compartment fire issue relating to NHTSA Recall # 23V652000 (manufacturer recall # SC284XM). This warning was issued Sept 25th, 2023. It's now been over 3 months. Am I supposed to walk everywhere, use a Ride Share service, or take public transportation??? If Kia won't fix it, they should give me another vehicle to drive....or purchase the vehicle back from me for what I paid for it in 2022, less 1 year's depreciation.
The headlights will go off at sporadic times while driving. This condition is frightening, particularly at night since we live in a rural area with no street lights on many of the roads. It is extremely dangerous to find yourself in total darkness on country roads that have deep ditches on either side.
Passenger side headlight bulb went out. Went to replace bulb and the connector was melted

The airbag light came on when the vehicle was in motion. When able to safely pull over to the a parking lot the vehicle was shut off and turned back on. The light stayed on.
My vehicle was traveling at about 50 miles and hour and a car turned in front of me and I t- boned him. My car went up onto the 2 front wheels and then skidded into a telephone pole at about 30 miles an hour. My car is totaled. My concern is that the air bags never deployed during either impact and I think they should have. I have pictures to show the condition of the car...updated 01/21/15 */bf updated 01/26/15*jb
Airbag light has been on for miles. Kia states it is not under warranty, but that the entire airbag system is deactivated due to this error code. They quoted at the least $1,500 in parts alone, not including labor and they can't guarantee that will fix the problem. I am finding this a common issue in 2011 Kia sorento. This should be a mandatory recall. People can't afford to fix this problem. But this is a major safety issue. Nothing caused the airbag light to come on. My car has never been in one accident nor have I ever hit anything with my vehicle.
suspension 1 complaint shown
Transmission, shocks and struts had to be replaced. Kia was having a hard bump knock when it changed gears driving down the highway, we had it looked at several times by the Kia dealer and they couldn't find anything wrong. Eventually had to replace the parts above.
brakes 1 complaint shown
Rear brakes failed, had to replace them. This is the 3rd repair not covered by Kia.
lighting 1 complaint shown
Headlights go on and off while driving at night, especially when using turn signals. We cannot use Kia Sorento at night. All bulbs are OK
steering 1 complaint shown
I was driving to work on a 2 lane road with people behind me. My car made a sound like a rock rolling around in an empty water bottle then all the dashboard lights turned on and the engine died. Luckily I was able to pull over with a great deal of strength applied to the steering wheel. I called Kia immediately and they had it towed to a dealership within the hour. The dealership is now claiming I had a coolant leak which caused the car to overheat but I had no indications prior that the car was overheating. They said this is probably not covered by warranty since its a leak and it should have been discovered earlier. *tr
