While driving down the 95 highway my car showed a fuel supply error then powered down and stoped and wouldn't restart. I had it towed to a hotel and the following morning it started while the tow truck loaded it to take to the dealer. I had a full tank of gas at the time. I could have been killed with my kids. Towed it to BMW and all they told me was to replace my battery even though I had a perfectly good battery and the and everything requiring a battery worked like radio, lights etc. I bought a new battery from them and the tech drove the car for 30 miles. Within 2 hours after leaving the dealership my car did the same thing while exiting the highway and slowing down at a stop light. A diagram flashes on the console and then a message about the fuel supply. I was assisted by call

Vehicle was starved of oil. No warning showed up in the instrument panel. The vechle died on a high speed roadway and could not be put into neutral to get it to a safe location off the road. The tow operators could not move it either. Cars were swerving and braking to avoid hitting my vehicle. BMW told me th oil issue was my fault. Come to find out there are 2 letters sent for warranty extensions for oil pump drive chain and engine oil feed line. Because I do my own oil changes BMW stated the oil issue was my fault. This is a safety problem and should not be a warranty extension but an official recall! There are dozens of complaints online regarding the safety issues when this car dies in the roadway. Something needs to be done about this!!!
While driving my certified 2012 BMW 528i, which has an n20 engine, the "drivetrain malfunction, maximum output no longer available, drive moderately" warning light appeared on my dash and alerted me that there was a potential issue with my vehicle. Prior to the alert signaling my attention, I was driving on a heavily trafficked highway with speed limits ranging from 35 MPH to 60 MPH. I drove approximately 20 minutes / 13 miles to my destination before the "drivetrain malfunction" indicator light alerted me. Luckily, I was near a driveway to pull off into a parking lot when the warning light appeared. As soon as the warning light appeared my car immediately began to idle roughly, and my engine was not running at full capacity. I was only able to pull into a parking stall and moments followi
On a rainy october 13, 2018, while riding on the highway(rte. 422) with my 7 year old son my BMW 528i stopped running; without warning. Miraculously, we coasted on the highway ramp into the dealership driveway. The vehicle was diagnosed with an internal engine failure, which required $12,000+ to rebuild/repair. Currently, the payoff is $13,895.32 till 11/25/18. The monthly payment is $425.00 and the date of maturity for the loan is 9/15/21. I purchased the vehicle under a pre-owned certified guarantee, which expired in july. The car was regularly serviced and I kept all of my paperwork. Upon researching the engine failure, I discovered that this is a common problem. In fact, presently, an acquaintance of mine has his car at the BMW cleveland dealership with the same problem.

The vehicle lost power, while in motion, in the middle of the road after accelerating. The car gave an error code of drivetrain malfunction. My car lost power in the middle of a busy city street, and it could have easily LED to a terrible accident. Possibly related to NHTSA campaign number: 16v746000 but my car was not included in the recall.
The car was leased new. A heavy 'chemical ' smell occured whenever the ventilation system was activated. Driver suffered headaches and sinus problems. At 14 months into the lease, driver had an air quality test done on inside of the car. Results came back with elevated unsafe levels of benzine. Other persons riding in the car experienced vision problems. Benzine is a known carcinogen and something was very, very wrong with this car. BMW is now in possession of this car. *tr

Last month my car was approximately 52,200 miles (out of warranty) and leaking oil all over my driveway and under the hood. It cost me $1570 to fix by replacing the fiter casing. Luckily that the oil leak was in my driveway. What if I was on the freeway? This is totally unsafe car to drive. The local shop told me that the filter housing (2012 version) was made of plastic and the current BMW one 2014 is made of metal. The local shop told me to call BMW if there is any recall for this. So before fixing it local shop, I did call the crevier BMW in santa ana, ca and the service advisor told me that there is no recall for the filter housing and my car was out of warranty. I told the BMW advisor that I cannot believe that a 2012 BMW 528i with 52k miles on it and leaking oil all over

On two occasions vehicle suddenly offers an alert and stops accelerating and stalls on the freeway leaving us stranded. The car was taken to the BMW dealer and corporate was made aware of the situation after the first incident and didn't fix it. They kept it for about approx10 days and only replaced the battery. Three weeks later the second incident happened. This time we took a picture of the alert on dash screen which said fuel supply problem. They replaced the fuel pump but obviously their parts are faulty. They didn't convey to me that they fixed the problem with the pump but only that they put in a new one. The car placed us in life threatening situations and we are not secure driving it. I asked for BMW to reacquire the vehicle but they refused. There is no guarantee the car will n

I had been having problems with my seatbelt alarm coming on for a while with nothing in the seat of the passenger and then as I was trying to turn in to park I heard a click from my steering wheel as if it didn’t want to turn and the driver seat restraint malfunction error popped up . Now my horn will not work as well . I’m told that the dealership is the only place it can be repaired. I’m worried that it will deploy on me while driving . I’m sure this is an issue others have experienced as well .

Was driving down the street and car stopped. Dealer said I needed a new engine on a 3 yr old car. Engine covered under warranty.a few years later the drive shaft failed as I was driving. Believe it was related to removing engine and not securing all parts. How could this happen to a 5 yr old car? Dealer nor BMW usa would not cover the 2800 costs.
