My motor blew due to a oil leak and seized in the middle of traffic I owned the car for 37 days and I owe 18k on it.
Recalled motor was recalled due to engine oil consumption gm failed to replace bearings and hone cylinders that showed signs of burning dealer agreed to replace pistons rings and pistons nothing else .did not do any much to resolve motor problem should have repalced motor completly
Car stalls and jerks really hard under light acceleration, the check engine light comes on and stays on when it happens, had it checked and it shows bad camshaft sensor, but it has been replaced and still have the same issue, this is all after they fixed my engine from using too much oil. It starts fine and idles fine but stalls and jerks under acceleration, but it doesn't always do this, it mainly happens when you drive a few miles stop at the store then go back out and start it up. Which it still starts just fine, then when you go to take off it does the stall/jerk when you try to accelerate. I'm not the only one with this vehicle and issue and something needs to be done.

There was no warning light illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that the engine was experiencing excessive oil consumption. The contact stated that she had been adding a quart of oil in the vehicle every two weeks. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under an unknown extended warranty coverage. The dealer advised the contact to complete an oil consumption test. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. Problem began at the beginning of the month when my vehicle stalled on the highway during rush hour traffic..luckily I was not hit or killed. The issue is with the engine and high oil consumption. I took it to the dealer and they ran the test and I now have to take the car back 2 more times to prove the pcv has to be replaced. Meanwhile I have to keep 2 quarts of oil in the car and check every 1000 miles to ensure oil lever is proper so car won't stop. I'm a single parent with a 2 year old and this "condition" with the vehicles is dangerous. Shame on gm for not placing a recall out and just doing the repair across the board. I am literally afraid to drive this car but stuck with it cause it is my only car and who can afford a new one. I have had 2 oil changes or top offs this month alon
Vehicle stalled while driving on highway. Engine seized up while driving due to no oil. No dash indicators, lights, audible tones or other warnings were evident to indicate any problems with oil level, or oil pressure. Total engine failure resulted, leaving me stranded on the highway. General motors' "2.4l ecotec" motors are known to exhibit severe excessive oil consumption, due to faulty piston rings. While driving at or around 30 MPH on a city street a pop was heard in the back of the car. After parking, to assess what happened, the right quarter glass was found to have shattered, yet it stayed in the frame. Two weeks prior, the car had been in a minor rear-end bumper collision which left minimal scratches

On dec. 14,2019 while driving on a busy parkway in new jersey in the pouring rain, my wipers stopped operating in the middle of the window. This caused a loss of visibility, made me violently swerve off of the road and injure my right knee. I am suffering a knee contusion and possible ligament damage due to the sudden impact. I reported this complaint on dec. 16, 2019 and after reviewing it online, it is evident that the representative listed that there wasn't an injury reported; which is false information. I made it very clear that I injured my knee from the direct malfunction of the wipers. I have since visited the er and my primary care physician.
I was driving on the highway duringthe day in heavy rain. Without warning, both wipers stopped in the up position. I tried turning the wipers off and back on and nothing happened. I turned the wipers off and finished the drive home ' fortunately only a mile away. Could barely see out the front windshield but drove slowly with emergency flashers on.when I got home, I located the fuse to check. It was ok. I then turned on the wipers and could hear the motor running but the wipers were not moving. I called the local Chevrolet dealer to get it fixed ' the next day when it was not raining. Fortunately I was close to home but if it had been raining or snowing, it would have ben impossible to get it safely to the garage to get fixed. Briefly, for the last month and a half I have experienced rough idle on start and rough idle & stall with the car losing power and going dead at red lights and in traffic while in drive. I took the car to the auto mechanic and stored codes suggested replacing o2 sensors, the catalytic converter and a tune-up would resolve the issue; I replaced all of the above to the tune of 1400.00; the issue of rough idling, stall & losing power, going dead at the light/ sitting in traffic has not resolved. The 2012 equinox is not safe to drive; it just keeps stalling and going dead/losing power while in drive. I have spent almost 1400.00 trying to diagnose and fix this issue since december 1. The transmission jerks, while vehicle rolls back when accelerating after a dead stop or from a slower speed. There have been multiple complaints. Why has there not been a recall for a problem that can have a fatal consequence?

I was driving my equinox coming up on a red traffic light. Upon pushing down on the brake pedal the radio shut off and the dash started flashing all of the lights very rapidly. The light turned green and i pushed on the accelerator, and there was little or no power and the car killed. I was in the intersection so I quickly put it in park and the car restarted, but had very little power. I was now on a slight incline so I barely made it into gas station and before I could park the car stalled again. Now the doors were locked and I could not unlock them. Did I mention I live in MN and the temp was -9 (31 below windchill) and I was stuck in my car. Horn, doors and windows would not work. It got very cold very quick! After trying and trying 15 min later the doors unlocked. I am 64 and disabled

The windshield wiper transmission was replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. I was stopped in traffic when a vehicle rear ended my vehicle while traveling around 40-50 MPH at the time of impact. The force of the impact pushed me forward into the vehicle in front of mine causing extensive damage to my vehicle and the causing vehicle and minor damage to the vehicle in front of mine. The impact caused the airbags to activate which prompted onstar to come on. The airbags never actually activated. The amount of damage caused by the crash was $17,000 to repair which caused the vehicle to be totaled. The amount of damage upon inspection shows that the airbags should have deployed. *tr

There was a recall for major oil consumption so I took it to the dealer and they checked, said everything was good...bs!! I changed oil in oct, completely dry in dec! I have had to replace intake/exhaust position actuators twice now. Fluttering sound in the engine when cranked. Now I have (4) different codes 3 of which pertain to fuel pressure reg/system rail and the other once again for the position actuator. And it ran fine before being parked in garage for only a couple hours, once started it shook and vibrated violently.

Vehicle had been stalling at least every other day for the past couple of months when stepping on the gas to go. It has turned off on several occasions when coming to a stop or red light at the point I step on the gas. Additionally, the vehicles engine sounds forced and trembles on it own on a daily basis, even when in park mode.
