Ford previously issued warranty extension for this vehicle 18-M-01 related to the replacement of the reductant heater unit. I acquired the subject vehicle above and had the repair done at my expense on September 9, 2015 with 115,710 miles on the vehicle using an OEM part. Eventually, Ford would reimburse me for this expense. The truck currently has 150,000 miles and once again the DEF heater failed . So, roughly 35,000 miles on a single unit. That seems ridiculous to me that an emissions part would fail after a mere 35,000 miles. My experience is far from being alone and others have reported similar experiences on internet forums. I will preserve this unit that failed for 60 days after the submission of this claim in case Ford or you would like to inspect it. Unfortunately, the result o

While driving my truck on a busy side road, the message center flashed a warning, "stop safe soon". A audible chime was heard and the truck shut off. Complete lose of power brakes, power steering. I was not able to get the truck off the road completely since it happened so fast. Traffic was stopped in both directions while we did our best to push the 7,500 pound truck to the narrow shoulder. Since the shoulder would not fit the entire truck, it was basically half in the road. Traffic has backed up and we had to wait close to an hour for a tow truck. After speaking with the dealer, he told me the truck has a bulletin out about a faulty egt exhaust gas temperature sensor. This small sensor fault shuts the truck down and will not allow the engine to run. *tr

This is a diesel engine f250. Egt sensor failed and engine immediately shut down in the middle of the road. CEL was on and message said " stop safely now". The failure of the egt sensor was known by dealer and he showed me 2 tsb s on the problem. Problem was fixed in 2 days but the safety aspect of this failure has not been addressed by Ford. A almost immediate shutdown of the engine without warning is very dangerous. In out case we were in town on a side street but what if this had occurred on the interstate or going up or down on a mountain road or towing a trailer, etc.. We do all this and now that we know we have a over protective computer waiting to kill the engine at its whim we feel much less secure. The computer should give adequate warning before a shutdown and probabl

Driving through a farm field and something hit the oil pan and cracked it with a hair line fracture, 1/8 inch, and oil leaking. No visable damage or marking until pulled from truck, even than no marks but a slight dent in plastic. No other visable damage anywere else under truck. Asked if all oil pans are plastic and I was told by dealer, yes. This is a truck designed to for off road heavy duty work. *tr

The contact stated that when they passed that point the vehicle suddenly displayed the death wobble despite there being no significant bumping of the vehicle. Death rattle you hit bump in highway and starts to shake all over, like the wheels are going to fly off.

12/10/2020 95,000 mi ODI #11382889.0

At highway speeds when going around a curve the vehicle began shaking violently. Ford dealer replaced the damper assembly, front suspension arm bushing, installed 1 degree adjusters, replaced the track bar bushing, and did a front end alignment. Ten months later I experienced a similar violent shaking when going over bumps at 75 MPH. This happened 3 times in a 2 day period. The shaking would only subside after slowing down to less than 15 MPH. Many other f250 owners have experienced the same problem. The shaking is so violent is could easily cause loss of control and an accident. This vehicle is unsafe.

I continue to experience violent shaking of vehicle when traveling around 70MPH. I almost lost control before I could safely pull over on the highway. I purchased truck with 55,000 miles on it and I replaced all the tires after it happened the first few times. New tires did not help.

Firs started vibrating beyond my control when I hit a small bump while travelling approximately 50mph, had worn bushing and other replacements and continues to occur periodically. The shaking is so severe that the truck cannot be steered and only stops when I get below 20mph. It has now occurred at speeds from 35 to 70mph and the truck is unsafe to drive.

I bought this truck used from a dealership in 2022-23 haven't really had any problems till about 2 months ago. Front end started a wobble. A friend of mine just sent me information NHTSA put out about the Death Wobble. I believe it expired in 2024. I never received any kind of recall on this. I was wondering if it would still be something I could get looked into. Thank you.

My 15 year old daughter was driving my truck when someone slammed on brakes in front of us to turn, with no turn signal. We hit this persons vehicle in a 55 MPH zone at 55 MPH and then hit the ditch. None of our airbags deployed. With the damage that occured, I would think a sensor would have triggered. This needs to be brought to the attention of Ford motor company.

There is no way to secure rear facing infant child seat into vehicle. No clips or rings to attach the carrier to. Seatbelt alone is not sufficient. Infant carrier is equipped with clips on both sides to attach to secure rings at base of seat. My Ford focus has clips for three rear facing sears. Why not the truck? *tr

I got on the highway and was doing a turnaround when I accelerated to enter the highway lanes a warning light that said reduced engine power appeared on my dash. Approximately 200' later my truck died on the highway. My high pressure fuel pump went out and apparently disintegrated sending aluminum shavings throughout my entire fuel system. The fix is to replace the entire fuel system at a cost of $11,200. The Ford company is claiming the fuel was contaminated and caused the pump to rust and go out. I have never got a water in fuel warning light on my truck and have had all the required maintenance done on the truck. The insurance company had a lab do a sample of the fuel in my truck and the fuel met all the astm requirements. *tr
