I received a recall letter from GMC about a knocking in the engine which just started happening in my vehicle. The recall does not show up when the dealer checked the VIN number in the computer. But before I could take my car in to be checked my engine died when I arrive at work which is 25 miles from my home. I had it towed to a GMC dearlership and was informed that my timing chain jumped and threw valve timing off causing internal engine failure.. I then had to replace the engine in a 5 year old vehicle, my warranty expired 3/2017 so this was not covered. When I called GMC I was told they may be able to cover some of the cost but since I did not replace the engine with another GMC engine which would have cost more I had to pay out of my pockets for this.

Wipers in "on" position, wiper motor audibly running, neither wiper blade would move across windshield, both remain stationary. Can manually move both blades freely, no binding, in unison validating linkage between the two blade arms were still connected. Suspected motor shaft/spline connecting to the "blade transmission" was disconnected, stripped, or fell off. To ensure not an electrical issue, removed 25 amp fuse (no. 29) from engine compartment fuse buss and inspected fuse. Fuse intact and in like new condition. Reinstalled the fuse resuming motor function. Drove the vehicle to valentine GMC Buick, fairborn, ohio and asked service mgr if a tsb referencing this safety issue had been reported. The service mgr did not comment; instead he showed me an illustrated parts breakdown of

Driving in heavy rain south on the I-5 at 545p. In peak traffic and wipers suddenly just stopped while going 60mph in the carpool lane. As we past the exit for I-405 There was no shoulder to pull off of on my left. I had to cross over 5 lanes until I could safely get off the freeway. Then drive another 5 miles on side streets getting out an manually moving the wipers every few blocks so i could see. I'm female and over 50 yrs old. There was not a place I felt safe to just pull over at night. I stopped at a friend's. I can hear the motor moving but the wipers are not. I do not recall ever seeing the recall on the ball bearings and nor the wiper linkage but found one. However I'm have 72k miles and have owned it for 10 yrs.6 months. So it may not be covered, which I believe is not f

The rear tailgate on a 2012 GMC Terrain has auto lift and close. The tailgate opens, but wont stay open then closes hitting you in the head. The heavy tailgate comes down hitting you in the head, and it takes a lot to hold the gate up. I called the dealer who said it could be the power lift. He said there was a previous recall to fix the same issue, but that part is not holding. I spoke with the dealer and found issued on line. No warning lamps or messages appeared.

I own a 2012 terrain sle2 with approximately 20,000 miles. On friday, december 13, 2013, I joined the innumerable owners of gm products (found on the various owner forums on the internet) that have experienced the service stabilitrak light coming on with rough idling. Other owners have expressed the loss of power when this event occurs. Luckily, I was backing out of my garage and not traveling on the expressway so I cannot advise whether there was loss of power since I was going so slow. The light went off when I turned the vehicle off in order to come inside and call the dealer (woody Buick GMC in naperville il). The dealer was able to find code po300 (random cylinder misfire) but they could find nothing wrong. I was told the vehicle fixed itself (which I find highly doubtful and very dis

Prior to the engine failure, the contact also stated that the vehicle revved and accelerated independently without warning, while driving at various speeds. The contact noted that prior to the engine failure,

Issues with the passenger side seatbelt not pulling to lock. It's jammed off and on. Doesn't work.

12/09/2018 80,000 mi ODI #11157128.0

Seat belt retractors fail to retract and belt clip gets stuck in closed door. Dealer fixed once but refuses to fix at their cost. I believe this is a serious gm defect and a safety hazard because a half open jammed door will not open.

In may 2018 my rear camera and backup lights stopped working. When I went to the dealer, the dealer tol me that the rear camera was bad and it was tied to the back up lights. They would not fix it for free. I was charged $175 dollars to disconnect the camera. The camera should be linked to the backup lights when it malfunctions. I almost hit a person because the backup lights would not turn on this is a serious defect. Sunrise Chevy should not have charged me for this problem.

To whom it may concern: please note that I have observed my vehicle a profound amount of water entering the vehicle somewhere within, at, or in vicinity of the front passenger side of the vehicle and driver's side (front). This occurs during rain-fall. My vehicle began displaying an odor and showing white-yellowish colored matter in the carpet area. The water is now developed into a puddle on the passenger - side and carpet soaked on the driver's side (the lost of footing on the driver's side, makes it sometimes difficult when driving, and shifting my foot from the accelerator to (and) braking (to steer, and performing turning maneuvers). Once again, timing chain incident, this time while driving, wasn't expecting it, suddenly my Terrain steering when became stiff to turn, and happened to realize the car motor had shut off and rolling to the right, nearly hitting parked car. I tried to start vehicle, but made a whining sound, but did not start, yet check engine light was on. I had my OBD reader handy, and got p0011, p0017 codes, which tell me it was the timing chain again in this car. This very dangerous because we could of collided with a parked vehicle, if not for me struggling so hard to steer vehicle while steering wheel was stiff.
