For weeks car would not start in the mornings before work or after being parked for several hours. Car battery needed to be boosted/jumped in order to start, after a few weeks of this battery drained, bad battery (had to purchase new battery and told this was the issue.) even with the new battery car would not want to start after being parked a few hours or overnight, especially in very cold weather. Car cranks but not start until after several tries of turning would start to run then shut off after a minute then would start after a few times of stalling or turning off. Car has stalled and/or refused to start several times with my children in the vehicle leaving us stranded a few times and inconvenient and unsafe for my 4 and 5 year olds, especially my 4 year old who is a type one diabetic
Long overdue recall fix Chrysler recall notice p25/NHTSA 14v-234 a recall was issued, Chrysler p25/NHTSA 14v-234 in may of 2014. Seven months later, 12/26/14, Chrysler still has no parts available to fix the problem. This is a switch they need to replace or waterproof. If it gets wet or moisture collects, it may catch fire. *tr
One night 2 years ago I was driving my van. I drove it as usual on my daily routine. I went home and about 30 minutes of being home I went and got in my van and started it up and it started normally just as it always did. It ran for pry 3 to 5 seconds only and just died. I tried to start it back up and it would not start. Tried starting it for an hour and it would not start. That's when I researched and found out about the tipm problem that Dodge has. I never knew for sure until recently if that was indeed what the problem was. Until recently and only found out because I sold my house and had to get it moved out of my garage where my van sat since the day it died. I was not able to drive my van for pry over 2 years. My van is a 2013 and has about 80,000 miles on it. We are the only owner.
Not sure the problem, but when the push button start is used it sometimes wont start even though it is trying to turn over. Checking the internet I see lots of people are saying its the new computer board. This could be a problem if I have my wife out on a trip and the board or whatever it is fails. Also could be a fire hazard if its fuel related.
2013 Chrysler town & country. Consumer writes in regards to rear quarter vent window switch recall and lack of parts. *smd
Horn, and door locks activate randomly. Now vehicle will crank but not turn over. Research and troubleshooting confirms a bad TIPM which was recalled in other Dodge and Jeep vehicles, but not the Chrysler Town and Country.
Fuel pump continues to run after shut down, draining battery. Related to my other report (11498461).
Tl* the contact owns a 2013 Chrysler town and country. While the vehicle was parked and idling, a noise similar to a gunshot was heard. The contact realized that the rear passenger side head rest air bag deployed. Afterwards, the passenger side sliding door did not lock and all the electrical components, including the radio and GPS malfunctioned. Ever since july of 2018, the contact made numerous attempts to schedule a diagnostic appointment with the dealer (black Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, 831 salisbury rd, statesville, nc 28677). The dealer stated that the repairs could not be scheduled unless the headquarters authorized the diagnostic test. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 84,662.
Vehicle is 3 years old however we purchased it 1 year ago. We have had electrical issues multiple times since purchase. Dash lights will illuminate which include, electrical light, batter light, gas light, check engine light, tc light, and ABS light as well as wipers will run even though wipers are off. Dealer wants to hook us for $1000 repair.
My vehicle randomly shuts off while driving. This has happened multiple times at speeds up to 45 miles per hour. I lose all power including steering and I assume air bags.
My airbag light comes on and off continually when I am driving my vehicle. This issue has occurred since the vehicle was purchased. I believe if this issue continues it may cause the airbag not to deploy or to deploy in error. This is very concerning. Dealership has failed to repair this issues after 3 attempts. The vehicle is on a street or highway when issue occurs.

Headrest exploded with broken pieces sitting in my driveway. Van was sitting in my driveway.
I bought this van about 2 weeks back. The dealer had filled up the gas tank. Yesterday I wanted to refuel and then I realized that this was the most unsafe car I have seen. Anybody could have access to the gas cap. There is no key lock or lever lock to it. Just flip open the cover and unscrew the cap and put anything into the gas tank or draw out the gas if you want to. This car costs about 30,000 and has all sorts of features but I am scared to take it out of my garage and park it anywhere else. I hope the manufacturer does something in regards to the accessibility of the gas cap to ease the mind of the owners of this vehicle. I would not have bought this car if I had noticed this at the time of purchase. *tr
