While driving during a rain/snow event, the driver side windshield wiper stopped working. The driver side wiper was suspended while the passenger side continued to move. As visibility decreased my 17-year-old daughter had to pull over and call for assistance. She could no longer see out the driver side windshield.

Driving in very heavy rain around 5:30am, so also very dark out. Windshield wipers on auto, medium-high speed. Going around 30mph and hear a moderately loud "clunk" come from area in front of dashboard and steering wheel. Suddenly my wipers no longer worked, and within seconds it was impossible to see out of my windshield. I had to litterally stick my head out of my driver side window and look for a side road/driveway to pull over at, not easy in the dark with heavy rain. Turns out the sound came from just under my wiper arms, which became disconnected from the wiper motor, as the linkage arm popped off at one of the plastic bushing ball joints. I was driving on a well-paved city street, with no harsh bumps or pot-holes, linkage arm disconnected just from use of the wipers. Thankfully I wa
My wife was driving on interstate 40 during a heavy rain when the windshield wipers suddenly stopped working. Because of this she was nearly in an accident. We had to have the vehicle towed back to our home as it was unsafe to drive in the current weather conditions.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V165000 (Visibility) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated while driving 45-50 MPH on a rainy day, the windshield wipers ceased to operate as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact was able to continue driving. The local dealer was contacted and informed the contact that parts were not yet available. The contact contacted a second dealer, Mall Chevrolet (75 Haddonfield Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002) and was provided the same information as from the first dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacture
While driving home in a rain storm, I heard a noise from my wipers and then they stopped working. The motor can be heard running, but the blades do not move. This was extremely dangerous as I was on the highway and could not see. After researching, the linkage has broken off and the wiper blades will not move. I cannot operate the vehicle safely in rain/snow and I live in new england. This created a very dangerous situation as I had both my children in the car as well.
Second occurance -- both stationary and in motion the windshield wipers either do not move, move very slow and stop mid-windshield. This part was replaced with and OEM part just over 1 year ago and is doing the same thing again.
Car was in motion and wipers were in use during rain and wiper just stopped! While driving one evening in the rain, driver's side wiper abruptly stopped mid-wipe and stuck upright on the windshield. I was forced to pull over and inch along to a service center as visibility was severely limited. Chevy dealer determined that the wiper motor and transmission had failed and that part recall had not yet been expanded to 2014 year in the us. I am furious to learn that the recall was expanded only to canada! Besides the $350 I am out for the repair I am disappointed that gm is not doing the right thing. Safety was the biggest factor in my decision to buy an equinox and with a teen driver in the house, a failure like this could have been catastrophic!!

Oil consumption. I have already paid $2,500 to the Chevy dealership where I live to replace the timing chain, and it's doing the same thing again. I'm having to continuously put up to three quarts of oil in it every 2 to 3 weeks. The dealership says there is no bulletin on my VIN number. I've only had the car a year and a half and barely put 4,000 mi on it. I purchased this car from the Chevrolet dealership. My next step is to speak to an attorney.
2014 model year Chevy equinox. My car was produced in 9-2013, and has had continuous high oil consumption since purchase. Every few weeks it is making a loud noise after start up, and I am having to add oil (3 qts yesterday of the 5w-30 dexron oil as listed on the cap).
My car is equipped with the 2.4L ecotec engine and has insane levels of oil consumption. Since my last oil change 2000miles ago I've added 5 quarts of oil. A few days ago the car started making a ticking sound while driving, the car then began surging and tried to take off while i had my foot on the break, and started to overheat and then shut off at a light. I was able to restart the vehicle and had no per on the rest of the drive. When I got home I checked the oil and the dipstick was dry. I received no warning light or indication that this was the case.
My 2014 Equinox is going through engine oil so frequently. I have to put at least a quart in every time I fuel up. My oil light that indicates when I am low on oil never comes on. It never warns me that I am low and I first figured it out after my engine started to make a clicking noise when I had my engine oil changed only 3 weeks before that and I had no oil left in my vehicles engine. It does not leak the oil as I never have a puddle under my car. It does not burn it out the exhaust. This is a huge issue and safety concern as it can potentially damage my engine causing more money worth of damage than the vehicle itself is worth and leaving me stranded on the side of the road and without a vehicle is not okay, especially with children potentially being stranded. If my car were to break d
I won a 2014 Chevy equinox and I started to smell exhaust but my car passed emissions. Found out later this engine is known for cracking in the exhaust manifold. Now my vehicles engine is really loud, the smell of exhaust is really bad when idling and driving, also now my kids and myself are have breathing problems. I would like to get this fixed as soon as possible for my families safety.
Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet equinox. While driving 55 MPH, the engine revved and the vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to restart the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who stated that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. A dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 107,000. The VIN was not available.

The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle was stopped, and the vehicle was parked at a local shopping center while shopping. The the service traction control service stabilitrak lights with the engine light came on and I lost engine power and was "reduced power." this was while driving slowly getting up to speed. Happened again a few days later when going about 40 MPH and I could not go any faster, I had to pull over and stop driving. Parked the car for 3 hours then it was fine. Still not clear as to what caused this. Engine light is still on.
I was driving in busy traffic with no warning signs, no check engine lights when all of a sudden my engine lost power an would not restart. I had to get a tow from Kentucky to Michigan to a near by Mechanic where he ran a boroscope. The timing chain failed which then valves hit the pistons. I know this has been a big problem for this year equinox.
My husband and I bought brand new 2014 Chevrolet equinox. Thinking that this would be an investment as a reliable and safe family car, it has been nothing but a headache. It currently has less than 60k miles and it has engine failure problems and isn't drive-able... The engine unexpectedly lost power while my husband was driving down the 91 freeway from irvine to riverside around 70 MPH. The engine literally slowed to about 10-15 MPH. My husband is a decorated marine corps war veteran who has survive three tours in afghanistan, who would have thought that a humdrum commute to work almost cost him his life. And now the check engine light is on and I am too afraid to drive it. This life threatening situation is only the most significant sometimes the car get stuck in back up cam mode or

On December 23rd, shortly after 530 pm, I remote started the vehicle, 6 min prior, to entering/driving the vehicle. On my way to work, approximately 4 minutes into the drive a woman pulled up next to me. She seemed to be in distress, trying to get my attention. I rolled down the window and she told me “your car is on fire” I quickly pulled over to the side of the road and exited the vehicle. The vehicle was dripping firey liquid. I called 911. And 12 minutes later, when the firefighters arrived, half of the vehicle was engulfed in flames. There were no warning signs. No warning lights. No sudden loss of oil or fuel. Police had the vehicle towed to a junkyard where it still sits. Unfortunately I had liability insurance only. So no claim was filed. I do have a police report and videos/pictu
