2014 GMC Sierra owner complaints

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 GMC sierra 1500. The contact stated that the headlights on vehicle failed to illuminate properly. The headlights were dim and impaired the contact's vision. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 3,000.

The headlights on this truck are unsafe. They do not put out enough light on dark nights and especially on nights were there is rain. They do not reach beyond the edge of the road way past the fog lines,. Or extend that far up the road in front of the truck. *tr

The headlight performance on this truck is the worst I've seen in any vehicle, but for a truck, I cannot believe they are allowed on the road at night. The owner's manual states they are factory set and do not need adjustment. That information was obviously not checked during the quality check or checked but felt it was as good as it gets. On high beam, the driver's side light is pointing so far up, it's in the trees and above the road. The right side high and low beams are inadequate for all purposes, especially seeing around curves and turns. You are literally blind on a dark street, even with the fog lights. Very poor illumination of the road. I've taken it in to the dealer for adjustment and they did not change anything. This will be the last gm product I buy since it seems the

The headlights are very dim. I can not see very far down the road and I can not see the shoulders of the roadway. It is not very safe to drive this vehicle at night with the factory installed headlights.

Headlights are too dim in 2014 GMC sierra. To the point of dangerous to pedestrians and wildlife. The lights hinder the ability of drivers to see and avoid anything that may wonder into the vehicles path. By the time the headlight illuminate the object it'll be too late! "save some life", persuade general motors to fix future vehicles and possibly recall existing ones. *tr

The headlights are very poor. I have owned many cars and the lack of night vision with the 2014 sierra is the worst of any car I have ever driven. I used to work on my family farm back in the 1980s and our old tractors and combines had better night visibility than my brand new sierra. GMC, you must fix this now! I guarantee you will have a major lawsuit on your hands if you don't. This is such a simple thing to get right, do the right thing and recall all these vehicles and install proper headlights. *tr

I bought my 2014 GMC sierra brand new in dec 2014 and had it back to the dealer within 3 weeks because I was sure there was a defect with the headlights ! You can only see maybe 30 feet in front of you and nothing if you make any turn on a dark road with no streetlights ! The mechanic at the dealership said there was no problem with the lights and they meet all general motors specifications ...I have read many many complaints from other 2014 GMC sierra owners with this same complaint so I know its not my imagination or a problem with my eyesight !! I sure hope that GMC doesn't wait for fatalities or a class action lawsuit before addressing and correcting this problem , I have been a loyal GMC consumer for 45 years but this obvious problem with the lighting and GMC's refusal to acknowledge

Lost normal braking going down a steep hill at 25 MPH , had to use both feet on the brake pedal just to stop.

Hello, I am driving a 2014 Sierra truck with 17,761 miles, my father’s work truck. The first week I had No problems, the 2nd week the Trailer Brake warning came on relentlessly. New truck, scary Warning sign! I took it to GMC to dislocate trailer brake, they sold me a $340 trailer brake control switch. Upon my return to where I live a loud sound came from when I was idling to wait for construction to accelerating. I noticed once I got home, my back wheels were hot and a burning smell! I hate when you take your car in for one warning sign and you get something so much worst and you paid outrageously for that! Karma!

While in motion, applied brakes and the pedal went to the floor without stopping. Checked brake fluid and it was near empty. Only 50,000miles.

This vehicle has the same issue as other recalled GMC Sierra vehicles - the brake booster pump is failing, causing braking difficulty, particularly at low RPM and after repeated presses of the brake pedal.

While traveling to denver colorado, my power steering shut off at random on the interstate. I pulled over and turned my vehicle off, and it came back on. A few days later while driving in the snow, it went out permanently and I was stranded until a tow truck arrived. It took 3 days to get my truck fixed, and the whole steering system, rack and pinion, had to be replaced. It cost me over $2,500 to fix and get back home safely. I was traveling on a straight road at 75mph on I-70 west when the steering went out the first time. The second time, I was making a left turn and it went out and nearly caused a wreck.

2014 GMC sierra 1500 4wd ~75k miles. Sometimes when I roll up my windows or use my blinker and it shuts off cruise control (hwy). And sometimes when I hit my breaks my headlights will dim (hwy, city streets, parking lots). When I'm turning slowly (in parking lots) the steeling will occasionally lock up and once it lost power entirely. My battery was tested at bigo and said it was fine. I've seen this online a lot for this truck and similar years, but no one seems to have a resolution. With so many incidents I'm shocked they don't have a fix or any idea what is wrong.

Steering wheel springs/snaps (hard) in the opposite direction that the wheel is being turned and steering control is lost. When this does not shut the engine off, the only way to regain steering control is to restart the vehicle. When this does cause the engine to shut off the steering is restored with the restart. The stabili trak indicator appears just for an instant on the dic when this happens. Note: this is not the 'service stabili trak' indicator but more like stabili trak has been activated indicator. This happened first in reverse while backing into a parking spot. (three times in reverse). Then it started happening in drive, twice while pulling out from a stop sign and once while doing 15-20 MPH turning onto a side street. The 15-20 MPH turning instance caused the engine to shut

Losing power steering intermittently and suddenly. Wheel becoming extremely difficult/heavier to move. Truck turned off.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 GMC sierra 1500. When the vehicle was started, the service air bag indicator illuminated on the passenger side. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 52,900.

Driving down the road aprox 45- 50 MPH transmission kicked into neutral causing vehicle to slow down suddenly ,almost got rear ended due to sudden slow down . No where to pull over , after letting off the gas kicked into gear and got it home. *tr

The engine light stayed on after the truck had an oil change at the dealershiptechnician checked and found oil pressure control valve solenoid circuit open technician scan for codes and dc tcpo6 da is snap technician performed system test and measure the resistant of the oil pressure controls solenoid at x15 for the solenoid and the internal harness read open technician removed the oil pan and found the solenoid connection has been disconnected which was not properly assembled at the manufacture and technician also discovered transmission lines leaking

I have a 2014 GMC sierra, I started my truck to warm it up. I went inside and after a few minutes I went outside and my truck was engulfed in flames. Luckily I was not parked in the garage and nobody was in my truck. It was parked in my driveway at the time. I am unknown...however there is recall for electrical/computer problem for my 2014 sierra but my truck has not been part of this recall. My truck is totaled!
