The contact stated that when driving at various speeds the vehicle would hesitate before accelerating and when attempting to turn left or right the vehicle would briefly stop and then jump/surge forward. Parking brake got stuck was able to disengage after looking at manual instructions % sevral attempts attempted to drive pb went off then the autohold light in yellow and ABS went on. Still on attempted per instrrctions to disengage the auto hold ..you tube indicated yellow hold means take to shop/dealer. Also on Kia forum others have had similar issues one took to dealer & dealer advised needed brake work. The Kia forum said that was not so it was a system error or switch error but it locks of the car brakes which happened to others & myself lastnight they had to tow backwords cause front brakes locked would only allow rear towing. The vehicle has been carefully maintained and received the 144,000-mileage thorough maintenance service which was performed at the KIA dealership in August 2023 three months prior to the incident. While driving in November 2023 the Malfunction Indicator Light came on. I took the vehicle to the same dealership. After 3 days in the service department, I was told the engine is burning oil. They found code P0021, but further diagnosis is required. The "Service Department" told me the vehicle requires an engine replacement. I purchased the 2014 KIA used in 2015. The warranty is for ten years (2024) yet evidently, according to the Service Department and KIA, because the car was on the sales lot in 2013, the warranty is expired. The ABS, traction control, and several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact's left foot and left arm were burned by smoke and an unknown fluid coming from the air vents. Medical attention was not received. The dealer was made aware of the failure; however, the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. There is a clatter at startup of the engine. I researched the issue and KIA has a service bulletin about the issue and a resolution for the problem. I had the vehicle brought to the dealership for the windshield recall and asked them to please apply the service bulletin since the timing chain has the discussed rattle at startup. They will not fix the issue. even knowing that it is causing internal engine damage for a defective part. If these vehicles are not fixed properly, the engines will expire prematurely and may cause serious injury.

The MOTOR DRIVEN POWER STEERING (MDPS) FLEXIBLE COUPLING in the steering system has been making noise, clicking and leading to a sense of slipping in the vehicle steering for several months. I took the vehicle to a Kia service center who confirmed the MDPS was the problem and told me that this a known and common safety problem in my Kia model year. They stated there had even been a warranty extension for this safety concern. They reported that they have observed and repaired this issue many times. However, Kia refused to cover the repair under warranty because my vehicle was just over 10 years old. They suggested I file a claim with the NHTSA since this is a known safety issue. On saturday - november 22, 2014 around 6:30 pm the car engine stopped and car rolled for few feet and stopped in the middle of the street. Also steering jammed and didn't move. It was stopped and didn't start back on and steering became very hard to crank it. The battery was running fine. Due to electrical and/or mechanical failure we were exposed to the unsafe environment. Fortunately, we were not on the busy street/freeway otherwise it could have been ended up in major safety incident. Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Kia cadenza. While driving different speeds, the vehicle decelerated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed and replaced the fuel injector. The failure recurred and the dealer replaced the high pressure fuel pump. When the failure recurred a third time, it was unable to be diagnosed by the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure; therefore, nothing could be done. The failure was not remedied. The VIN was invalid. The failure mileage was 3,416.

Front passenger headlight is no longer functioning properly. The bulb is brand new. While driving, the light will flicker on and off, then turn off completely. All of the fuses are intact and functioning, multiple shops (including the Kia dealership) have been unable to identify the problem and are recommending a complete headlight assembly replacement.

The front passenger wheel fractured completely around the wheel after driving over a pothole at a slow speed causing the driver to lose control over the vehicle. This nearly caused an accident. All 4 wheels on the vehicle were replaced in july 2014 due to a Kia factory safety recall number sc107. The vehicle is not safe to drive since the factory recall replacement wheels are also fracturing identical to the OEM installed 19in. Non chrome premium wheels.the vehicle was traveling at about 25mph on fox mill road northbound between fox view road and fairfax county parkway in fairfax county va. The tow truck driver replaced the defective wheel with a spare tire. The vehicle is currently at ourisman Kia in chantilly, va.

The 2014 cadenza does not offers a height seat adjustment for the front passenger so it is almost impossible for my wife to get it and out. I called Kia and I was told that they were not able to fix the problem unless I get the 2015 model. So I bought a seat cushion to increase the height . The problem now is that the " off warning light" for the air bags does not activate to on when you seat, which means that if there's is an accident, those bags will not deploy and could lead to catastrophic injuries.
