2014 Kia Forte owner complaints

Flex coupler went bad - $500 replacement. The Optima was already recalled for this same part. Please recall the Forte lines so that we can be reimbursed for this obvious Kia issue.

Popping noise from steering and play in steering wheel. Was informed by a local mechanic that is was the steering coupler for the MDPS unit. Checked and saw a recall for the same issue with the Kia Soul but saw nothing for the Forte even though Hyundai had a recall for the Elantra and Sonata for the same issue. This is a vital part of the car and if it breaks as easy as it does it needs to be recalled on all the vehicles that have it and not just certain ones. I have not had it repaired yet but will be doing so shortly as well as talking with an attorney about the issue.

Clunking sound in steering column. Steering Coupler in Steering motor defect Has failed in my steering column. Dealer refuses to repair under other agreements.

We are a driving school with about 100 different cars from Kia, we have about 95 vehicles right now in use that are forte models between the years of 2010-2017. This is now the second vehicle this has happened to of ours over the past year. The last time was the Kia forte 2015, and now this time it is the Kia forte 2014. The steering wheel becomes misaligned with the wheels and eventually the entire assembly of where the steering wheel column is falls down completely into your lap and you lose all control of the vehicle. We took the 2015 vehicle to the mechanic and they were able to fix it, now the same thing happened again with the 2014. The specific part which failed is called the "reinforced beam"- Kia. My vehicles steering coupling pings and sounds like it's come loose or broken. Same issue happened to another Kia in the family a 2012 Kia soul my brother in law owns. That Kia had a recall for the steering coupling, the 2014 Kia forte does'nt have this for a recall yet by Kia. I contacted Kia complaint #13202206 for resolution but no resolution rec'd to date 12/13/2019.

Engine seized while driving. Car had just over 60,000 miles. Approximately 61,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2014 Kia forte. While driving, a ticking noise was heard from the engine, and the vehicle hesitated and almost stalled twice. The vehicle was taken to alm Kia south (4310 jonesboro rd, union city, ga 30291, (678) 827-8900) for an oil change. The contact was informed that a new engine was needed because oil was burning in the engine. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was later taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the engine was burning oil. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic who stated that there was no oil in the engine. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.

I was driving 65 mph and all of sudden the speed got lowered to 45 mph even I was pushing accelerator. Also I heard the engine knocking noise when I pushed accelerator hard. I had to stop and parked nearby church parking lot. I called a mechanic to diagnose, and he said the engine was broken and needed to be replaced with a new engine.

Car died in reverse. Check engine light came on and turned off. Took to mechanic replaced spark plugs. Then 6 days later had another misfire replaced coils. At that a clicking noise was heard. Brought to kia dealership who said knocking come from engine but did not say what. Upon parking car completely died in drive. Engine failed.

The contact owns a 2014 Kia Forte. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V750000 (Engine) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for the recall repair; however, the dealer failed to update the Knock Sensor Detection System software. The contact stated while driving 45 MPH, the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who updated the Knock Sensor Detection System software; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer who diagnosed that the engine needed to be replaced. The dealer advised the contact that they would send a diagnostic report and video clips to the manufacturer to obtain the manufacturer's approval for the engine replacement. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the

Back up camera only whats some of the time. When it sometimes works it is when the outside temperature gets around 65 degrees or lower, but even then it works some of the time. The screen flickers sometime when it working as well.

Takara recall I would smell something burning under the hood and then my ac stopped blowing air/heat from the two center vents.

I had a brake system failure of some sort happen today. My life and the lives of many others were put in extreme danger. I was driving at about 40 MPH and was approaching a red light. I pressed down on my brake pedal to begin slowing down, but I got absolutely nothing in response. Out of panic, I pumped my brake pedal. This again, did not slow me down at all and my brake pedal fell to the floor then went stiff. After it fell to the floor and went stiff, I pumped and pressed down on it again with all of my strength, at which point I was able to get a very small response and slow myself down to a stop. This is the 4th time this has happened to me in the past 45 days, I took the car to a local AAA shop but they found zero issues with my braking system (cylinders, fluid, lines, drums, pads,

Large Buck deer hit car with force, did not loose control, did not slam brakes attempted to pull to side of road. The hood flew up and had to use the emergency brake to come to full stop, put in park but the gas was full throttle. Neither airbag deployed and definitely should have.

Airbags failed to deploy when vehicle involved in a front-end collision.

The air bad light is on and horn dose not working currently there is a open recall on the clutch spring for the air bag but my vin say no repair

2014 Kia forte. Consumer writes in regards to cracks in vehicle tires between treads. Consumer has different vehicle complaint in artemis. *smd

UNKNOWN. The clear coat paint is peeling on the roof, trunk, door handles, and A-Frame of the vehicle.

Brake light failure on both tail lights. The problem started by finding mold in the trunk. This was caused by water pooling in the bottom space where the spare tire would go if it came with one. Water leaks were observed from both tail lights into the trunk. The culprit seems to be bad gaskets for the tail lights. The gaskets have cracks which let rain water through. The poor design of this part has caused both brake lights to stop working. I fear water damage with the wiring / electrical system. The 3rd, center brake light still works. Will KIA pay to fix this important safety feature?

When I engage the left turn signal the headlights will intermittently shut off. They sometimes come back on and sometimes do not. Usually after completing a turn they come back on. It's unpredictable and this has caused some scary situations. It is a continual problem that needs to be fixed by KIA.
