On 7/21/2019, my 2014 Volvo s60 (with 58,582 miles) would not start. There were no error lights, and I had my vehicle fully serviced in april 2019. I had also driven my car the day before, and there were no issues. I called my roadside service company and had my battery checked, but the battery was not the issue. I had to tow my car to a repair shop. The first repair shop stated that the 'serpentine belt failed and worked its way into the timing cover, causing the timing belt to become misaligned. This condition caused the valves in the cylinder head to contact the pistons and bent the valves. Car has no compression. Will require cylinder head replacement.' this facility indicated that I would need the assembly head replaced ($7,424.03), a/c belt replaced ($57.41), alternator belt re

Vehicle Make/Model/Year: 2014 Volvo S60 Mileage at Failure: 111,000 Incident Description: I am reporting a complete engine failure in my 2014 Volvo S60 due to excessive oil consumption, a known defect in these models as documented in Volvo’s Quality Bulletin P10207. I purchased this vehicle used only 7 months ago, unaware of this defect. There was no notification of any warranty extension or known issue, and the vehicle showed no signs of oil leakage —it simply failed. Volvo has refused to assist me because the vehicle is now beyond 100,000 miles and 8 years, despite their documented acknowledgment of this design flaw. This is a serious safety issue that could have resulted in an accident had the engine seized at highway speed. I am requesting NHTSA investigate further or reopen the matter
I was driving my car and one day I got a warning to stop car immediately that there was no oil. I get regular oil changes and maintenance. I checked the oil and it was empty. There are no leaks, nothing burning out of the exhaust. I added oil and 2 weeks later same warning, I have to add oil 1-2 times a month. I took the car to Volvo and they couldn’t find an issue. I took the car to family mechanic and he said there is a known issue w Volvo cars pistons rings going bad and causing oil to burn. He said there is a class action law suit about this very thing. I took the car back to Volvo dealer and they found the issue and want $8000 to correct it. Volvo knows about their faulty piston rings. They even acknowledged it at the dealer and told me to put something in my oil and keep adding oi
Vehicle Odometer less than 7K Miles. vehicle was serviced with full synthetic oil in November 2022. March 2022, Vehicle had consumed all the synthetic lubricant and failed while driving. Report was made to both dealership and Volvo USA. only answer received as to why or how the lubricant evaporated was that ' it was a well known issue' and that since it's out of warrantee they could not assist any further. This incident mechanical failure incident scared me as a Father as my son found out while He was driving on the interstate and it puts his life in danger.
Excessive oil consumption at 75k miles. Oil change was completed in november 2020 by Volvo authorized dealer/service. "no oil pressure" warning message came on on 3/19/21. Checked oil and it was nearly dry. Added 5 quarts of oil and called Volvo on 3/22/21 to report. Scheduled an oil consumption test but based on what I've read with other complaints, this is a known problem with Volvo and pistons/rings going bad. From reading other complaints, it seems Volvo may not be easy to work with on this. Why is this not issued as a recall?

My car has been at bergeron Volvo for one month. I had taken it in due to rear head rest intermittently not staying up. They could not reproduce so I picked car up and it did it again I took it back. They again could not find. I went in and it did it with service manager except other side rear headrest. I called today to check on and they said it was because we hit it 5-6 times and overheated implying not an issue. They said switch was getting hot on dash and 1400 to replace. I told them to replace as under certified warranty. He then avoided replacing I told him I would pick up car if he would write on paper safe to drive as I did not want it to fall down in accident and break someones neck. He declined and said he would call Volvo again. Please help. I am worried it will fall dow
Eco friendly soy based materials used for wiring attracts rodents and results in moderate to severe damage. Had my car "eaten" by squirrels twice in 3 months, the first time the damage was around $300, the second $2500! I have no guarantee that this wont happen again, in fact it likely will because the wire casing is still soy based!!!!
2014 Volvo s60. Consumer writes in regards to defective passenger side door lock safety recall. *ld the consumer stated the door could not be unlocked, rendering the passenger seat unusable. *js
It has come to my attention my 2014 Volvo s60 has a well known and documented problem of excessive oil consumption internally. It has to do with the pistons and the pump rings and is well known by Volvo since 2013. It is not a leak but an issue with the manufacture which seems like an obvious reason to recall and make them fix it. How do we not know more crashes or fires aren't caused from this when the company is clearly trying to cover it up??!! I was not aware of it before I purchased the vehicle but received a letter from Volvo stating the issue and the extended warranty will be added from 8 years or 100,000 miles. However, the years start from when the vehicle was first sold, in my case 8/31/13 so even though I have not exceeded the 100K miles they will not fix my problem. They quo

I purchased the car on friday, october 18, on saturday, october 19, the car went haywire, windshield wipers would turn off, no turn signals, no headlights, and no instrument panel. Totally unsafe. Contacted dealer, and he said, "wow, you're the 2nd person today to call with these issues. We think there may be a recall, but you'll have to take it to the german dealership on monday." no help, no concern for safety, nothing! Had the vehicle towed in on monday, and german dealership has to order the software. My car sits, the dealership that sold the s60 to us, denies that there is a recall on my vehicle! Capitol motors should be closed down! I am paying for a new car, I cannot even drive! *tr
The engine oil pressure sensor is not activated in my 2014 volvo s60 software, also combined with what i found out was a known issue of excessive oil. My car engine oil pressure got too low, and there was no warning displayed in the Driver Information Module (DIM). the car started stalling while driving and i almost had a crash. I found out there was a recall on the 2012 volvo S60 but there was none on my 2014 which had the same issue. I have since taking the car to the dealership and not only did i almost lose my life in a crash i was also told the engine was permanently damaged. i have reported the case to volvo they need to expand the years the recall was on and also need to fix my engine which was due to manufacturers defect

My Volvo S60 has developed excessive oil consumption consistent with the condition described in Volvo’s “Engine Oil Consumption” extended-warranty notice. I only received this notice after my vehicle had already passed the 8-year/100,000-mile eligibility period, preventing me from accessing the program intended for this defect. I visited an authorized Volvo dealer regarding the oil-consumption issue, and the dealer recommended performing Volvo’s official oil-consumption test. Before authorizing the test, I asked Volvo to cover the cost and confirm reimbursement eligibility. Volvo declined these requests, requiring me to pay for the test and any related repairs. I proceeded with the official oil-consumption test at my own expense, and the results confirmed abnormal oil consumption. Despite
