"service airbag" warning on 2015 volt, which apparently is a well-known issue for which general motors refuses to take any responsibility. Airbags should not be a concern on car--ever. They want over $800 for the repair when it is clearly a manufacturing defect.
The service airbag request keeps showing up and I was told it was the Passenger presence module and sensor. This puts people at risk of the airbag not deploying correctly.
Car was purchased used on 9/12/18 with 50k miles and soon after purchase the service airbag warning pops up intermittently everyday during short or long drives. Common complaint is passenger airbag sensor but I have not taken it to be diagnosed since common repair costs is over 800 dollars.
When a passenger gets out of the front passenger seat a warning will flash saying to service the airbag. Problem will persists until the car is shut off and won't show up again until a passenger sits in the front passenger seat again. Seems to be a problem with the passenger occupancy sensor.
