2015 Dodge Dart owner complaints

Finished driving, pulled into parking lot at my apartment and tried placing car into park and it would not go, it is in neutral or is displaying neutral and key is stuck in the ignition and the gear shift will not go into any gear. The vehicle was stationary when this happened. I was just parking the car.

I was stopped at a 4way stop and when I tried to move forward the car stalled on me and did not move. I pressed on the brakes, let go and pressed on the gas again and it did the same thing but this time the dash read "gear not available, switch to neutral and then to drive or reverse." I did that but it still stalled on me and then the dash read "service transmission" and the engine light came on as well. After one more try I managed to get it to move so I just parked it in an empty parking slot and called my dealerships service department. The car was towed to the dealership and as I type this I'm awaiting a call from the service department of my dealership so they can tell me what went wrong. I hope it can be fixed.

The car is stuck in neutral and not switching gears for drive. Unable to drive the car. Pressing gas pedal and car does not move in drive.

Car stutters when you crank it up. check engine light cuts on and off. Windows , Sunroof , Trunk all don’t work. Trunk won’t open. Sunroof and Windows won’t roll or close . Car staggers at 28mph. I have been locked in my car and locked out. Rearview cameras and charger port don’t work. Headlights blow every 2 weeks resulting in multiple tickets. Car will say brake lights , and headlights are out when they are not. I have been locked in my car before for several hours, because it wouldn’t let me out. Car doors will not lock. When you unlock the car lights won’t flash. Have to get an oil change often because it burns ALOT of gas. Car has cut off in the middle of a busy street after an oil change , because it needed oil.

My number 3 cylinder is the only problem. This had been the the third time I've had this problem in the last three years.

I turned my car off and walked into work and while I was gone and my car was off it caught on fire in the battery compartment and is now totaled.

I have had the brakes replaced twice due to it shaking while trying to stop. I also have put on three sets of rotors due to the shaking and even with brand new rotors the bouncing and shaking will not go away. The newest problem now is the brakes not wanting to work. I have had them checked by mechanics and they say there's nothing to do but change them out again!

Last night I was driving onto a highway entrance. I went to switch from 1st to 2nd gear. I was going about 25 MPH when this happened. I pushed in the clutch pedal to shift gears and I heard a loud click. I lifted my foot off the pedal and the pedal was stuck, pushed all the way in. I had to pull off of the road, and by hand, pull the pedal up. Now every time I push the clutch pedal in to shift gears it gets stuck and I have to wedge my foot under the pedal to pull it back up with my foot. I only did this to drive my car back home. I haven't driven it since.

While driving at various speeds, but mainly at lower speeds and while at a stop, the engine will stall and all power is lost to steering and brakes while several warning lights then appear on the dashboard - I have read on chat rooms of hundreds of these occurrences, and most seem to pint to a low oil condition that does not first light the oil light on the dashboard, but some indicate other electrical issues.

I purchased the car the last week of february. I began having car problems in mid march. I called the dealership and was scheduled to come in for service. Was told the software needed to be updated. Got car back and it stopped on me twice and had to be towed to the dealership. In may I was given a loaner car and was told my oil consumption was bad. Received car back in june and car was reposed for nonpayment. I got car out and it stopped again. In july the dealership then gave another loaner and told me my car will be a Chrysler buyback. From july to september never heard anything from Chrysler till sept 24 advising me to go to the dealership to choose another vehicle. Engine stalls, has happened 4 times while driving in past 2 months, vehicle mileage 69,000. Dealership, pocomo in hampton, va. Had vehicle for 5 days and could not duplicate.

When the oil life in this vehicle gets low the vehicle randomly stalls. This week my vehicle stalled in the middle of an intersection putting me at risk of bodily harm. I had to have my car towed to the dealership because it would not start. After speaking with the service person at the dealership they said that this is a "safety feature" to protect the engine. This is not the first time this has happened, but it is the first time my vehicle wouldn't start at all.

The vehicle intermittently would not engage gears, was experiencing difficulty shifting. Vehicle was towed to mechanic, fred drake auto whom installed new clutch and master cylinder. A week later, vehicle showed identical symptoms and became stranded on the highway. A burning order coming from engine, shifter would not engage gears. Vehicle while in gear, peddle dropped to floor and would not release. Vehicle was towed to ig burton, diagnosed complete failure of the clutch system.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 Dodge dart. While driving 25 MPH, the vehicle stalled and lost power. The check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to musselman's Dodge (5717 baltimore national pike, catonsville, md 21228) where it was diagnosed that the oil needed to be changed. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. Each time the vehicle was due for an oil change, the vehicle stalled without warning. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 40,000.

While driving, there was a snap and a loss of power brakes. According to the repair report from Dodge, brake fluid from the master cylinder leaked into the power booster causing loss of power brakes. This car is a little over a year old and just out of the warrenty at 37,000 miles and since we bought it with 20,000 miles on it, Dodge would not help with the repair cost. The 2013 and 2014 Dodge darts were recalled for oli leaking into the power booster, but this appears to be a failed master cylinder. I've had experience with master cylinders over the years and always got more than a year out of a brand new master cylinder. Maybe I got the only fluke Dodge dart master cylinder problem, or maybe Dodge has been putting sub-standard brake parts on these cars for years. I saved the old parts

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 Dodge dart. While driving various speeds, the contact had to apply excessive force to the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. In addition, the brake assist warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 15v800000 (service brakes, hydraulic). Sahara Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (5050 w sahara ave #3400, las vegas, nv 89146, (800) 506-5050) and the manufacturer were contacted and stated that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 33,400.

No check engine or warning light driving on the interstate in 6th gear car blew up loud noise and caught on fire! Only 85,000 miles with regular services. Lost all power and clutch pedal dropped to the floor and coasted to shoulder with a lot of smoke coming from engine opened the hood and there were flames where transmission fluid goes. I had noticed the transmission was slipping a couple days prior but it was christmas time so thought I could have it looked at afterward.

On my way home early morning I lost full function of my car. Luckily I was pulling into my home but my car would not go in any other gear but reverse. I could not properly put it in park or cut it off. Now it would turn on because it cannot shift into any gear. If I had made one more stop before heading home I could have been in a very bad accident or worse. This happened on 12/1/25. I immediately put on my parking break and chocked my wheels. I called the recall line for Dodge. We called several dealerships that are refusing to look at it the car because no repair is available. This recall notice was originally sent by email from CarFax in October and it's very serious. This recall notice should tell people not to drive the car but it doesn't. I finally receive a notice a few weeks a
