Is there a fix? Manufacturer service bulletins

The manufacturer has issued service bulletins covering electrical on this vehicle — documented repair instructions, service campaigns, or warranty extensions sent to dealers. A TSB isn't a recall (it's not a free safety remedy), but it's the manufacturer acknowledging the issue and how to fix it.

Service Bulletin SSM 54601 Feb 2026

Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with wired keyless entry keypad systems and accessory wireless keyless entry keypad systems may or may not come with a wallet card containing the master code. Unlike the integrated wired keypad, the accessory wireless keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool or from the label printed on the body control module (BCM). The Factory Keyless Entry Code application within the diagnostic scan tool will not provide an applicable master code for the accessory wireless keypad. If the wallet card for an accessory keypad is not available, the "Wireless RF Keypad Diagnosis Guide" can be referenced and provides direction on how

Some 2011-2019 Fiesta vehicles may exhibit various concerns following IPC replacement. Symptoms may include: no crank, 'Contact Hotline message', odometer displaying incorrect English or Metric units and/or diagnostic trouble code (DTC) U2101 in multiple modules. If programmable module installation (PMI) has been performed on the replacement IPC, disconnect the IPC, start a new session using the appropriate Ford scan tool and perform a PMI on the IPC. Do not reconnect the IPC until after the scan tool states it is unable to communicate with the IPC, then allow the PMI process to complete. This will automatically load the correct configuration and address any related DTCs or symptoms.

The failure pattern owners describe

Owners report unintended acceleration happening three separate times over the vehicle's ownership. In each incident, the driver's foot is on the brake, the car shifts to Drive, and the vehicle takes off as if the accelerator is stomped—with brakes providing little or no response. Two accidents happened when pulling forward from stops; one occurred on a snowy uphill road. All three resulted in significant property damage and safety risk. Steering remained functional, but braking failed.

Stalling and hard-start problems emerge in two forms: one owner reports the car stalls 3–5 minutes after refueling and won't restart quickly; another says it stalled four times while driving on the freeway over three weeks, with check engine and battery lights flashing. A third complaint describes sputtering and shutdown at idle or below 20 MPH. One owner's extensive diagnostics revealed a defective body control module (BCM), which was replaced, but the stalling and check engine light persisted. Dealers have denied service or offered no solid answers regarding recall eligibility.

Cold-weather defroster failure is documented: in subzero conditions, the cabin blower froze and the defroster produced no heat even at operating temperature, leaving only two small cleared spots on the windshield. Ford's service document SSM 44942 reportedly indicates engineers were aware of this issue.

Secondary electrical complaints include A/C actuator failure (replaced once under warranty but failed again after 20,000 miles), voice command and Bluetooth dropouts, airbag warning light with steering column noises, and speaker crackling.
