The engine began, without warning, consuming the oil. The engine then began making a knocking noise that is now irreparable without replacement. This knocking noise, due to low oil, was not preceded by the "oil light," as I had recently received an oil change. The car now struggles to accelerate and I have to add oil every 2 weeks or so. This is a similar issue with other Kia models, with the same engine, that will be involved in a class action lawsuit in january 2021.

We were not experiencing any issues with the vehicle. My husband was driving home from work in the city and the car stopped running due to engine issues. It appears to be exactly what is in the recent recall but our car is not included. There was an oil leak that was not noticeable at all.

12/18/2025 ODI #11706002.0

The vehicle began experiencing persistent engine misfires and rough running. Fuel contamination was found in the engine oil, and the spark plugs were fouled with oil and fuel. The catalytic converter has become clogged and failed multiple times due to excess fuel and oil entering the exhaust system. The Kia dealership documented these conditions but refused to perform recall-related engine repairs. Kia Consumer Affairs stated the vehicle does not meet warranty extension guidelines and would not repair the engine. Due to fuel in the oil, misfires, overheating exhaust components, and repeated catalytic converter failure, the vehicle is unsafe to drive and presents a potential fire risk.

Loss of engine power results in rapid engine deceleration of vehicle until stopped at which point the engine regains power. Was driving to work and heard a sound of metal as if something fell from the car. Looked back in my rear view to see a trail of fluid. Pulled over immediately and the car started to stall out at the same time. Called a tow. They advised to contact police and fire in case it was gas. Fire department came and confirmed it was oil. I had gotten my oil changed two weeks prior at valvoline. Towed the car home where it sat. Called valvoline and they sent a technician to confirm the oil dispersed throughout the engine bay. Lifted the car to redo the oil change and witnessed oil leaking from the engine with no seals/caps missing. Towed to a local mechanic where it was found that a bearing went out- rod shot through the engine. Confirming the noise I heard last week. When looking through K

2015 forte with 1.8l engine. Rod nock noise developed after 104k miles. Loss of power and drivability is decreasing. No diagnostic lights on. Called Kia and was told that the 1.8L are not under the recall. However there are several 1.8 motors exhibiting the same symptoms. Oil changes have been done at suggested intervals. I believe the recall needs to be expanded. Kia wants me to take to dealer to verify. ASE mechanic has looked at it.

While driving, my car just shut off and wasn't working. I was unable to start it again. No oil lights, no engine lights, or any other warning lights came on prior to it dying. The dealership is telling me there is no oil in the motor and I am not understanding. I had the oil changed every 3-5,000 miles. The car shouldn't have stopped operating with no warning lights. The car was in motion when it abruptly shut off. I was traveling on a city street during that time.

My car has or should I sat had 143,000 miles when I was driving like I do any other normal day to go home. I gad to take a slight detour before going down the road and my car completely shutting off and having all the lights on my dash pop up. After I pulled into a safe parking spot my car would not turn on at all. The engine kept making a ticking noise. I had to be towed to a shop then to my house!! The car stats on for 10 seconds before shutting off! Why is this not being recalled. I have seen stories and similar comments to mine. This is ridiculous now my car has been sitting for two months

Received inspection letter dated 8/19/22 from Kia to inspect/replace if necessary brake line. First available appointment was 9/27/22. Inspection revealed a severely rotted brake line and invoice notation that vehicle is unsafe to drive. I contacted 3 other Kia dealerships and was given the familiar response that the parts are on back order with not estimate time for arrival. I contacted Kia customer service for a remedy but experienced hour long wait on hold only to be disconnected. Several attempts later customer service suggested I seek an off dealer shop and pay for the repair and be reimbursed by Kia. I was not able to get service through a third party either. I was assigned a case number 15188053 but no viable resolution.

I purchased a 2015 Kia Forte5 car (Pearl White) used but I noticed the paint peeling. It seems to be getting worse because the same spot is getting bigger and now a new spot on the top has appeared. I took the car to a body shop and was told it was a factory paint defect. I went online and saw that Kia and Hyundai had a factory issue with the pearl white paint for several years around my car year model. I was wondering if the paint chipping can be fixed or me compensated for the repairs. The damage is on the rear hatch and passenger side top of car next to sunroof. One is about a quarter size and the other a little smaller than a dime. Thanks in advance, [XXX] INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
