2016 Dodge Journey owner complaints

Takata recall for a 2016 Dodge journey. My Dodge journey is experiencing multiply issues that may be deemed as electrical issues. The first issue is the cruise control is still malfunctioning from a previous recall under recall number 18u49182. Whether cruise control is off or on the vehicle still maintains it's same speed. The second issue with my vehicle is also the vehicle constantly veers off the road. I almost crashed on the expressway because of this issue. This issue pose a safety issue because it can cause an accident. The third issue with this 2016 Dodge is the tire pressure systems seems to be faulty. Vehicle was stationary and remote started for about 5 minutes. We loaded up our children in the car and started smelling a strong plastic/rubber burning smell that stings in the throat. The smell was coming out of the heat vents, could be smelled outside the car and under the hood. We shut off the vehicle and I looked for the source of the burning, but didn't immediately find it. I loose control of the windows most of the time. I had the main window control switch replaced, and the problem still did not go away, please help.

My vehicle has been stalling out while driving, to the point of the brakes lock up, once it’s in park you can’t get it out of park, or can’t get the vehicle to turn off while stalled out, literally have to disconnect the battery, and reconnect it to maybe get the car a fresh start to turn over and return power to systems. The check engine light pops on when stalled but not normally and is coding for crankshaft position sensor a circuit. My vehicle apparently doesn’t have an open recall; but have seen this same issue has been a recall on the same year, make, and model, just not mine. The dodge dealership would rather me sell them my car and buy a new one.

The door locks continue to lock even if the key fob is in the vehicle. This happens especially in the mornings when it is cold. *bf*jb

Backing out of driveway in reverse and the transfer case twisted out of the vehicle, snapping hardware and breaking off aluminum casing also found lose hardware. Vehicle only has 65,000 miles on it. This occurred on level grade there was no inclines

Additionally, while accelerating there was abnormal winding noise detected. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to keffer Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram (8214 e independence blvd, charlotte, nc 28227, (704) 532-1050) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the contact was informed that the transmission pump needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was contacted but no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 146,000.

Takata recall, researching my car VIN 3 recalls flagged up and I have never been notified of the recalls my car has breaking issues the breaks work at times and not other times , the transmission will not change gear randomly and will lung forward when stopping lastly it pulls to the right so hard its hard to drive the car dealer said there is not issues with the car.

I was driving 65 MPH in a middle lane on the freeway when my engine suddenly stalled out. I lost the ability to steer or brake, and my vehicle quickly lost speed. I barely managed to get to the side of the freeway before it completely stopped. I called my husband to come get me, and he managed to restart it and drove it home while I followed in our truck. About 5 miles down the road, the engine stalled out on him. We took it to the Dodge dealership, and the mechanic who took it for a test drive freaked out when the problem happened to him with my husband in the passenger seat. The contact exited the vehicle and noticed a puddle of fluid on the ground underneath the vehicle. The contact stated that the fluid was possibly power steering fluid. The vehicle was in an accident on november 26, 2015. The steering wheel was shaking uncontrollably. This has been an issue since purchase. The braking was not accurate. The car would lose steering functionality along with braking capacity and has become hazardous while driving. On november, 26th, 2015, an accident occurred due to the malfunction of this vehicle. At this time, the parts to replace the malfunctioned parts were not available. I have received 2 recall notices for my brand new truck. When making a turn and accelerating the gas the vehicle pops. This vehicle is a 1 time owner has 36,385 miles and is the rear differential and electric clutch assembly on rear differential is out. This vehicle should not have something this major occurring with the low mileage. So far no recalls. However I have seen multiple complaints within google search. This is a safety issue as it feels as though the vehicle is going to delay in turning and could cause an accident.

Passenger headrest activated without warning striking passenger in the head while driving. x84 recall in effect. Dealerships wont return phone calls for the repair. no trouble indicator lamps

I have had the crankshaft position sensor replaced two times now. This is a dangerous issue as the car becomes disabled while driving.

The transmission would not shift out of first gear loss of power.

When I first start the vehicle it makes a loud whine noise for about 2 to 5 min. Then seems to go away. If the vehicle sits for 3 to 4 hours it will do the same noise again. Dealer told me that all the six cylinders make that noise and it's normal. Have never owned a vehicle that makes a whine noise where something wasn't wrong especially at around 6000 miles on the vehicle. The vehicle was stationary when it happens but if you drive off right away the noise continues as you're driving. *tr

Engine oil filter housing made of cheap plastic. Sitting under the intake in the V part of the engine between the cylinder heads. PLASTIC housing with hot oil trapped in the middle of the engine. Dries out the seals and causes housing to crack. Well known issue, all aftermarket housings are made of aluminum because of this. Due to location oil leaks into that V area and pools continuously. After driving around a corner large amounts slosh over and down the back of the trans and onto the exhaust and on the drivers side wheels. Well known fault costing consumers at least $500 to repair a faulty part due to no recall. Please make them do a recall this can start a fire or cause crashes from oil getting on the tires.

Had about 20,000 mi on the odometer and brakes start to pulsate very bad, causing lots of vibration in the steering wheel. Had dealer check brakes and showed little signs of wear on the pads. This continued till I finally had the brakes and rotors replaced with aftermarket ventilated rotors and new brake pads. After only 200 miles, vehicle is again vibrating very bad on hard braking and steep inclines. Going to have dealer check the calibers on the front to see if one is sticking, where brakes were changed. Never had this occur in any other vehicle where the pulsating returned after replacing brakes and rotors.

Head on Collison with light pole high speed the no airbags deployed. Vehicle was towed to tow yard is awaiting insurance to estimate damages.
