At approximately 53,000 miles, 2.0l i4 ecoboost engine needed to be replaced due to coolant leek into block - #2 cylinder failure. Although cost of repairs were covered under warranty, it took a lot of effort to get this all accomplished. Bought this car brand new for $40,000 and have had all maintenance meticulously completed at local dealership (where I purchased the vehicle). Worried now about the durability of the installed replacement engine. That engine now has nearly 20,000 miles on it and is out of warranty.

My 2016 Ford Edge SEL AWD 2.0L (65,000 Miles on engine) Ecoboost Engine started to experience a rough idle on a cold start, which would run normal after about 15 seconds, I also noticed the smell off coolant and a low level coolant in the reservoir but could not find a leak. These symptoms went on for about a month, then one day the engine light popped on while driving. I attached my Code Reader which resulted in a P0302 Engine Misfire Code. I attempted to remove the #2 spark plug. The spark plug was seized in the engine head. After research on-line. I found out this is a known issue by Ford for this engine. Engine coolant leaking into the cylinders (a design flaw which was corrected in 2019 for new vehicles). Technical Service Bulletin 22-2229. For Motor Company is only repairing vehicl

Coolant is leaking into the engine cylinders and burning through coolant rapidly. The exact issue that is referenced in recall 20V469000. My vehicle is currently not eligible for this recall, based on a VIN search on Ford.com and from speaking to a Ford customer service rep. It's my understanding that this problem can lead to engine failure or fire which is a significant risk to me and my family. No warning lamps or messages came on at any point. I only realized that the coolant tank was completely empty once I noticed that my heater was blowing cold air and did some internet research. My local Ford Dealer (DeNooyer Ford, Vicksburg, MI) has inspected and diagnosed, confirming that this is indeed the problem and that the vehicle requires a long block engine replacement. I was driving down the street on 12/27/18 when the right rear passenger door opened. I parked the car and tried to close it but I couldn't. I turned the child proof lock and it still wouldn't close. Called Ford in woodbury,nj and brian told me there were no recalls and they were busy but they'd try and take a look. I took it to our local gas station and mike, the mechanic, said the same thing happened to his Ford truck and other peoples cars. He got a screw driver and he was able to close the door. My 5 yr old granddaughter was sitting there when it opened. We were going to be riding on the nj turnpike and garden state pkwy. Thank god it didn't open then. The mechanic said the lock froze.

10 nov 2019, used the key fob to close the rear hatch. Came back home and found the rear window completely shattered but still intact. There were no holes other indications of anything thrown at the window. The vehicle was parked twenty-five feet off the roadway in my private driveway. There is no reason why this window should have shattered.
Rear Windshield shattered spontaneously. 28 degree morning 7am commuted to work without issue. 40 degrees sunny after work 4pm and glass was shattered. No foreign objects or impact.

I was driving home christmas night after spending the weekend with family, it was raining hard and windy (20-30mph gusts). While driving with my wipers on at 70mph on interstate 35 south just north of albert lea minnesota my wiper blades started to get caught in the wind, I heard a slapping noise a few times and then all the sudden as the wipers went to wipe the passenger side blade was lifted by the wind and was dropped on top of the other blade. The latch that holds the blade on to the driver side wiper was blocking the passenger side blade and caused the wipers to become non functional. At this point I was getting very nervous because visibility rapidly diminished because I could no longer use my wipers. I tried turning them on to high and low and they would not work. The wipers did try
