Steering becomes stuck in a curve and doesn't return to center. This creates a very dangerous condition when the steering "unsticks" and causes the car to veer from side to side. Condition is caused by a failure inside the electric power steering rack.

About 5-6 months ago, when turning left or right, the steering wheel started essentially locking in that position, and I have to yank it back to center. It will not self-center. The dealer was not able to fix it, and it's a very dangerous car to drive now. I will not let any other members of my family drive it. Also, I've had a severe drivetrain vibration for about a year, and over $7,000 was spent on a new driveshaft and transfer case. It is now worse than it was and the dealer doesn't know what to do. Even with only 34,000 miles on the car, it is out of warranty, and Hyundai doesn't seem to care. I have installed brand new tires hoping that it might help both situations, but it didn't. I'm just at my wit's end now. I guess I will just have to park the car. Any help would be greatly appre
After my trip, when I drove the car the handle of the wheel did not move. Don't rotate a steering wheel caused by an outside influence. Hyundai says that an outside influence is a damage caused by rodents. If I drive the car on the highway and the steering wheel does not work. The problem makes the big accident. I think it's a serious problem of the steering wheel which should use thing that is a strong materials and design against external influences. It is necessary to investigate whether the strength of steering wheel parts is proper. I know that the company has recalled similar problems in other models.
Purchased this car from a Hyundai dealer and immediately after multiple times the steering has stuck in place while making a left hand turn, not allowing the car to come out of the turn. Also does it slightly while driving on highway straight, but not as forcefully as when in a turn. Very dangerous and Hyundai nor the Hyundai dealer We purchased it from will even take a call from me over it. No check engine lights or warnings. Yes, it was very dangerous for us in the car as well as the other cars on the road. Could have been a very serious accident. I wish Hyundai would take it seriously. The dealer I purchased it from said they had thoroughly checked it out but they wont take any calls from me since purchase. Yes the car is available for inspection upon request.

I purchaseda2016 hyundia Genesis on dec. 17, 2015. I enrolled in their blink service that night and attempted to enroll in their remote car starting service that is an added service to their blink connect service. We were unable to add the remote package due to an internet server problem. We were able to successfully enroll in the remote starting service until dec 21. On the morning of 12/23 I logged on to the smartphone app and proceeded to remote start my car for 2 minutes. My car was parked 3 car detached garage with double door garage door opened. I stood at backdoor to watch the car start successfully. I walked away and 5 minutes later I when to see that my car was no longer running. It was not. I left my garage door opened. I was in my office and at 1:10 pm my next door neighbor
At around 18500 miles this car started to make a very loud grinding noise and vibrates only when the ac is on the dealer and the Hyundai engineer first said it was bad gas / clogged fuel injectors / noise does not appear when the ac is off - ruling out bad gas then they said it was the fly wheel - changed that and the noise and vibrations got worse then they said is was the motor mounts - no change in the noise of vibrations then they said it was a fan for the ac unit - noise is still there but a little quieter noise and vibration only appears when the ac is on and it does not matter if the car is moving or sitting still overall they have no clue what is wrong with this car and I hope the government forces Genesis to do a major recall on every Genesis sold
The engine makes a very loud noise and the car vibrates when the ac is on. The dealer has yet to resolve the issue after 6 weeks

Car is shutting off when stopped. When it shuts off, the engine light comes on, the battery lights, the EPS, the master warning light, the FCA system light, and the EPB. When the engine shuts off, I still have power to my car and the radio still playing but nothing to my engine. I brought my car to 2 different mechanic and brought it to the dealership today and they are saying there’s nothing wrong with my car. My car have been shutting off all this month and that’s not normal,
Dear NHTSA, I am filing this complaint to formally report a serious vehicle safety hazard and to express concern over how Hyundai/Genesis has handled it. My 2016 Hyundai Genesis 3.8 AWD experienced a n engine compartment fire originating from the starter motor, which subsequently melted the engine wiring harness and surrounding components. This fire could have easily caused serious injury or death, as it occurred shortly after starting the vehicle. Fortunately, I was able t o shut the vehicle off and get t o safety before the flames spreadThe dealership and Genesis Customer Care opened a case (Case #41642221) but later informed me that this was "not related" to the existing Hyundai/Genesis recall involving the same starter and wiring harness fire risk. Their explanation was that my inciden
Sometimes the car won't power on until I slam the door or go through the trunk to wiggle the battery cables. If I turn the steering wheel left it knocks the power out. Sometimes while driving when dark the headlights and go off suddenly then flash back on.

The shark fin cover fell off for no apparent reason. No automated car washes, no inclement weather and the screw holders (plastic) broke. Has to be a manufacturing defect. I can't find replacement cover. I was driving on a highway on a clear night.

"takata recall" I was in motion driving less than 30miles/hour in traffic, stopping few times and kept a good distance. All of a sudden, I applied the brakes to stop but the vehicle did not stop and kept moving fast. I applied the brakes soo hard, vehicle did not stop the collision system that was suppose to stop the vehicle and avoid the collison did nothing. I reported the same issue when I took the vehicle to the dealership during my 1st service and expressed concern regarding the sensors not working. The car has only 6,000 miles. The day was sunny and this happen during rush hour off on golf road in des plaines illinois

While driving during the day or night, the headlights switch on and off. This occurs when the lights are in the auto mode. The dash shows the lights go from auto to drls to off then back on. This happens randomly and is extremely dangerous when driving at night. The dealership refuses to fix the issue because they 'say' they cannot replicate. There needs to be an investigation before something tragic happens and not after something tragic happens. I have a video of this occurring but cannot upload it to the site.

I was in a turn lane with the car running in park. When the light turned green, the car would not shift to drive. I was blocking traffic. I turned on my hazard lights. I then turned the engine off/on. The car then shifted to drive with a harsh jerk!. I was able to get to my destination. When leaving, my car again would not shift into drive and I noticed that the "check engine light came on. I tried stopping and starting a few times. The car would not shift to drive. It would only go in park, neutral and reverse. I had to have the car towed to my house. I will have the dealership check it on monday.
