Component: Air Bags / Occupant Classification System (OCS) Problem Description: The Occupant Classification System (OCS) in my 2016 Infiniti QX60 is malfunctioning. The passenger airbag indicator light flickers on and off even when the passenger seat is empty. When an adult passenger is seated properly with the seatbelt fastened, the system frequently fails to detect the occupant and does not consistently indicate that the passenger airbag is active. The issue occurs intermittently and unpredictably, both while driving and shortly after vehicle startup. Dealer Repair Attempts: I have brought the vehicle to the Infiniti dealership multiple times for this issue. Each visit resulted in a paid service where the dealership “reset” the OCS module and stated the issue was resolved. However, th

The contact owns a 2016 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while making a left turn at a low rate of speed, another vehicle attempted to drive around the contact's vehicle. As the vehicle attempted to drive around, the contact was hit by the passing vehicle. The contact stated that they could not recall the immediate events after the accident; however, they did note the side air bags did deploy while drive side air bag did not deploy. A police report was filed at the scene; however, the police report was not available due to an ongoing investigation. The contact, the contact's mother, and the contact's son and daughter were all taken to the hospital for a check-up; the contact suffered emotional distress due to the accident but no physical injuries were reported. Infiniti qx60 now has created a constant yellow false warning picture/light on in car indicating that the passenger air bag if off even though no one is sitting in the seat. If an infant or a small child is placed in the seat, since the yellow warning picture/ light is always on, a true and actual hazard may be overlooked. There is no need for a false constant warning light when no one is sitting in the seat. Ask Infiniti to fix the problem with the air bag so that it works as the manual indicates. When no one is sitting in the seat the warning picture will illuminate for 7 seconds and then cut off. When an infant or small child is sitting in the seat, then the light will remain on indicating that there is a true hazard. Allowing Nissan/infiiniti to get a way with a quick fix by leaving

Air bag light began blinking notifying me of an issue. The vehicle is available for an inspection. I took car to dealer for diagnostic check. The dealer informed me that it is the drivers side airbag causing the issue. This is a safety component of the vehicle and puts the driver and all occupants at risk should their be an airbag failure in an accident. Issue has been through a diagnostic check by the dealer and confirmed. They recommended 1) that I replace the seatback which is a costly repair. In their words, "we have seen this occur in several Infiniti models and recommended that I contact the Infiniti Consumer Affairs office as it is not under any recalls. Seatbelts are covered under the lifetime warranty of the vehicle but not the airbags." Car has had the warning lamp display f

Passenger airbag does not detect any adult sitting in the passenger seat, causing the light to stay on and possibly not deploy during an accident. The vehicle make and model has a recall for this exact problem, but has not notified for a recall service.

Vehicle was in motion on the interstate, no other cars around nor big trucks and not under an overpass. Vehicle was moving around 70 MPH and the sunroof exploded. No windows were down and thankfully the screen wasn't opened.

My family and I were driving down the highway, when we heard a large bang sound. My husband looked out the rear view mirror to see pieces of glass flying off the car, and realized our sunroof had exploded. We were not following near other vehicles, nor had we gone under an overpass. We pulled over and saw that it had clearly exploded with no external influence (the glass was pressed upward, and there was no other damage or debris other than the glass). We were thankful to have had the interior shade closed as our young children were in the vehicle.

The sunroof exploded. I was driving on the highway when I heard a loud explosion which caused me to swerve to avoid collision with other vehicles. There are some glass shards that flew out. I had minor cuts on my hand when I tried to inspect the damage. No other factors involved, no weather changes, etc.

While driving down a clear road on a beautiful day, the sunroof in my QX60 randomly exploded, outwardly. It sounded like a gunshot hit the car. Glass went everywhere, hit oncoming traffic, the windshield, and hood of car. We immediately pulled over and noticed the sunroof was expanding outwardly towards the sky, not inward. It was making a concerning sound in the process. The sound scared all of and almost caused a wreck. I was 6 months pregnant at the time and my husband was in the passenger side and my 20 month old son was in the back seat car seat.

The contact owns a 2016 Infiniti QX60. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked outside, she noticed there was water leaking through the sunroof onto the floor of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the sunroof drain tubes needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the failure was an environmental issue. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000.

Tl* the contact owns a 2016 Infiniti qx60. The contact called from the bluffton south carolina fire department. While driving at an unknown speed, the vehicle crashed into a deer. Moments later, flames were present near the b post on the driver's side of the vehicle. The fire department extinguished the fire and determined that the flames were either caused by the window motor or the side air bags. The driver sustained a left shoulder injury that required medical attention. The vehicle was towed and a police report was not filed. Traveling I-10 going 75mpg, and the sun roof exploded. Sounded like we had been shot. Nothing was in front of us when it happened. The interior shade was not opened , so no glass was blown in. There was a big hole with the glass being bulged outward (up.)

2016 Infiniti QX60 93,000 miles The battery light was on. I have noticed that my CVT transmission goes into limp mode. This has happened several times with no help from infiniti. I can only go 10MPH and it revs only 1000 RPM, then it'll be fine after I turn off and on again. Had battery and alternator checked and they're 100% good. This is very dangerous when it happenes in traffic and infiniti won't do anything.

The car was in park in our garage. My husband was sitting in driver seat with one leg out and the door open. The car made a sound and started moving in reverse. It only stopped because the door hit our garage wall and he was trying to stop the car. He cut his hand in the process and the door frame bent and glass shattered. *dsy

The electric controlled coupling failed and as a result, the AWD failed. There is vibration when turning and driving 25 mph. The grinding noise remained after I got new brakes and I was told it’s from the coupling trying to power the AWD. I took my 2016 QX60 to the dealer and also to a foreign car auto shop and they both confirmed it needs to be replaced. When the coupling is unplugged, the noise is not present.

2016 Infiniti qx60. Consumer writes in regards to dealership refusal to repair an old 2gb navigation system to an upgraded 4gb system. *smd the consumer stated he was unable to download directions. *jb the consumer stated the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time completing a recall repair. Also, the vehicle experienced a clunking sound when making a sharp turn. The dealer advised it was unrelated to the recall and needed to be diagnosed immediately. *js
