Blue tooth connection via phone will be dropped after 7-10 seconds post connection to the vehicle. Audio player can be connected separately but once the phone connects the display console resets as if the car was just being started. Car can be stationary not moving. No difference

I purchased a new 2016 prius four on february 16, 2016. The literature on the Toyota factory website says my prius is equipped to switch from english to metric units. Unfortunately, Toyota failed to disclose that any prius manufactured in january and february and delivered to the united states did not have this feature working correctly. Without the ability to switch to metric units, by government mandate, my prius does not meet canadian motor vehicle safety regulations. Apparently some 2016 prius vehicles sold in canada also cannot switch to english units when driving in the united states presenting a potential safety hazard. Toyota has apparently failed to reveal a material fact that the prius sold to me does not meet the canadian motor vehicle safety regulations. There was no disclos

I recently purchased my 3rd Toyota in august (2016 prius). I upgraded my 2011 prius because I really needed built in navigation due the nature of my job and my commute. I am currently experiencing issues with the radio/navigation system, which is very frustrating because this is a "brand new" car. The navigation system and radio turn off and on continuously during the most dangerous and inconvenient times (I.e. When I am navigating though unfamiliar wooded areas in the dark when it's raining). This also causes one of my instrument panels to go blank. I have had to stop using the navigation system altogether at times, which again is the reason that I upgraded my car in the first place. This began happening intermittently in september, and the problem has gotten progressively worse over time

I previously sent in a complaint but there have been developments and I needed to explain more clearly. Our Toyota has less than 18,000 miles and has been very well taken care of. Despite this, our vehicle has not been in operation since earlier this month. It started by flashing warning lights 2 weeks ago and then wouldn't start up. Saturday when I opened the driver door to get something out of the inoperable vehicle, this initiated a very lengthy terrible sound coming from under hood on driver's side. It sounded like something would explode under the hood. This horrible process appearantly drained the whole battery. It has absolutely no signs of life now. All of this happened while the vehicle was stationary.

I had previous problems when I first bought my prius where I received 2 cracks on my windshield within a week of owning the car. I never heard a rock hit my car. I reported it here and Toyota called me to replace my windshield so they could keep my old one for quality control. I was fine with this but just today I go out to my car and see a 6 inch crack that started from the bottom of the windshield that wasn't there before and I didn't hear a rock hit it either. I feel like my prius windshield problems will never ever end

There is something wrong with the windshield design of the car. I had debris or road gravel hitting the windshield twice in last 2 months and got a crack on windshield in 2 occasions. I was driving car at 65 MPH on highway in both instances. I also realize a flaw with wiper design that the wipers do no clear the full wind shield. This reduces visibility specially winter when there is lot of salt and snow on roads.

Since purchase of the car, the vehicle has shifted from drive to neutral upon braking hard. This has occurred while driving on the freeway. The car will not return to drive without turning off the engine and restarting. It is not safe to drive. Toyota of carlsbad couldn't reproduce the event after a few tries on a test drive, so they will not do anything about it. I am concerned about having a fatal accident while driving on the freeway. The events happen randomly.

The contact owned a 2016 Toyota Prius. The contact stated that while switching lanes, the vehicle was rear-ended by another vehicle driving at 30 MPH. The contact's front driver's side seat backrest inadvertently moved backward, which caused her shins to hit the dashboard under the steering wheel during impact. None of the air bags deploy upon impact. The contact later received medical attention at the hospital for injuries to her shins. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a tow yard and deemed totaled by the insurance company. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,000.

Upon start up this Toyota prius vehicle emits foul smelling chemical air into the cabin of the vehicle. It is unknown how toxic these smells are but aggravate respiratory conditions and asthmatic conditions. Toyota acknowledges that they have a service bulletin with "thousands" of complaints from consumers reporting noxious air being emitted into the cabin of the vehicle. However they are requiring consumers to pay for fixes, even if the consumer has a full warranty for manufacturer defects. This vehicle only has about 9.2k miles on it (2016) and is getting worse. The problem always happens on vehicle start up when at rest, especially in warm ambient conditions. The ac will be foul and noxious. In cold temperatures the first few minutes of heating will also emit foul and noxious

At night on dark streets with no other lighting, you cannot see to drive unless you use high beams. There is a line across the windshield; a horizon. You can see below that horizon (a thin area), but it's black above it, making it very hard to see. Visibility is only a few feet. I contacted Toyota and the sales and management team claim that they have never heard of such a thing. I contacted service and was told that this is normal. There is no fix. I am demanding that my headlights be aimed higher in hopes that I can see to drive. If this does not fix the problem, this car cannot be driving at night. It is not safe to drive with such low visibility. I was driving very slowly and still felt that I should have just stopped. *tr

Seatbelt on drivers side does not retract, gets caught in door when exiting the car. Dealer won't fix it. It's a safety issue in that the driver when exiting has to stop deal with extended seat belt caught in door, could be hit by another car in a parking lot or the street. It's been like this for months. Very annoying.a google search shows this is a common problem for Toyota cars.
