The driver side passenger door is stuck on lock, it will not open from outside or inside or with the fob, this creates a safety issue for removing my children in case of an accident or being able to get to them in case of an emergency.
The drivers side door remained locked when all other door are set to unlock. The drivers side door will not come unlocked whether by remote or manually pushing unlock. This happened on its own. A mechanic looked at it and said he would not mess with it because he was scared he we break the door and suggested going to a dealer. The car manufacturer issued a recall (Mopar X98) for this very same issue but it didn't include my car serial number. So, they don't want to honor the recall on my car. This is a serious safety concern on this vehicle as it is used for the transportation of several children and should an accident happen the chance of being trapped is very high since the door will not open at all. I located a service bulletin 23-036-21 that was issued and a Mopar Warranty Extension
My wife hit a deer going 70 MPH driving northbound on i65 right after crossing the tenn. State line. The deer hit the front center and passenger front of the van and the airbags never deployed. The airbag lights came on and stayed on but the airbags never deployed. The fender molding was ripped apart, radiator was pushed into the the engine block, passenger light was demolished and pushed in to the engine compartment, all the electric warning lights came on except the engine light and the fender well was pushed back 1/4 inch and in 1 inch into the passenger door. A red lightning bolt came on and the vehicle stopped running. Tow truck came and they were not able to get the vehicle out of park.
The sliding door drivers side has malfunctioned. Stuck in lock position. Cannot unlock or lock. The door is stuck closed. I’ve tried everything to try to open it. Will not open. Passengers cannot get out. I presume it’s the acutater that I cannot afford to get fixed. This is a safety issue.
Driving on highway about 75 MPH with cruise set. It was almost as if the vehicle shut off, I lost all connection and my computer went whack. All the check engine lights came on etc . It slowed my car down, and reset my radio etc . But than all of a sudden it all came back on and I proceeded . But scared me and this could have caused a serious wreck. It's scheduled to go into the shop and be checked over this week.
Rear door makes a buzzing sound when door is unlocked. Door also does not seem to function properly when closing and opening.
The issue is with the door locking system making a very loud buzzing noise when the doors either automatically lock/unlock or the lock/unlock buttons on the key fob are pressed. Not only is it irritating, but it is incredibly distracting as the loud noise is unexpected. This can be dangerous because the driver can be startled should someone accidentally press the button on the door while the vehicle is in motion, or when the doors automatically lock as the vehicle is starting to move. Sometimes not all of the doors lock or unlock and the buttons have to be pressed several times before all doors are locked or unlocked. This is also a safety issue.
Check engine light codes match possible recall for vehicle now I'm having the same issues
I have 2017 Dodge Caravan, I loves this van I recently went to the shop to do routine repairs. Also get the engine light checked, the mechanic stated I need a tune up. A few days later after getting the tune up check engine light came back on, and van begin to ride rough and shake. The van was struggling to keep up with city speed limit and engine light came back on so I took the van back to the shop they checked engine light and it read cylinder 2 is back firing and get a tune up. That did't seemed right so the mechanic checked previous work, there was no problems with the parts they used for the tune up, the mechanic looked a little further to find out why the engine light still on. The mechanic said I need a cylinder, they told me to go to the dealer because they don't have that specia
2017 Grand Caravan - check engine light came on at about 90000 miles. Confirmed that it is a cylinder 2 misfire. Repair shop indicates that the cylinder needs to be re-machined (or the entire engine replaced) and also indicated that the cylinder 2 issue is well-known with the Chrysler/Dodge engines and was part of a recall for earlier models. Estimated repair cost is $4K - $5K.
My engine has begun the "Pentastar tick", which is surprisingly well-known, but not recalled. This is a serious safety issue because it can cause engine failure, which would cause an accident. Dodge has known about this problem for years, but refuses to fix it. I cannot afford to replace the engine and my van is sitting at the dealership, as of today. Please make them fix this! Why is there not a recall on these engines!?! Thankfully, there was no accident and I had the vehicle towed to the dealership, only to be told they are aware of it and I'm looking at $3,000-5,000 to "fix" it. However, the replacement parts would be the same as the original parts, so it's just going to keep happening. They are willfully and knowingly endangering families by not fixing this!
While entering freeway onramp engine power reduced and vehicle following had to swerve to avoid collision. Believe engine output lessened by cylinder 2 misfire issue common with Dodge engines creating failures and loss of compression and reduced power with sporadic loss of acceleration when needed.
I bought a 2017 Dodge grand caravan in february 2019. December 20, 2019 I was driving home and all of my dash lights and warnings came on, my windshield wipers came on, and the odometer and gas gauge went down while turning onto my home street. . We took it to a Dodge dealership and after looking and testing things they said it was the instrumental cluster panel.
The contact owns a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that the rear driver’s side sliding door would not open manually or electronically. Additionally, the door failed to lock securely. The contact took the vehicle to a local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rod in the door was loose and needed to be replaced. The rod clips were replaced however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 60,000.
Passenger side sliding door will not open. It is stuck in the lock position and will not unlock even after attempting both manual and electronic unlocking. Faulty lock actuator likely cause.
Driver's side door is stuck and locked shut. This puts my precious cargo, my children, at risk of having to exit the vehicle on a potentially more dangerous side with traffic. In the event of an accident this door locked shut can't be used to escape the vehicle if need be. No warning lights. Online this appears to be a very common issue in Chrysler/Dodge vans.
Van started to studder and not wanting to go while driving and starting the van. A current U87 Chrysler recall is in effect for my year of van. I called and they said that my vin is not currently affected even though I am having the same issues as this recall.
Our 2017 Dodge grand caravan gt suffered a torque converter failure at 63,095 miles while driving in gear at approximately 50 MPH, creating a whining sound while moving until we were able to get the vehicle to a stop, and then shuddering and revving high without power while we moved it briefly to a safe location to park it for towing. The vehicle had to be towed to a dealer because the transmission was inoperative. Upon diagnosis, Dodge dealership confirmed torque convertor had failed and that the material from the transmission had to be disassembled and overhauled to remove the material from the transmission. We were very fortunate to have been traveling at a low speed and near a parking lot that we could pull of into and immediately stop the vehicle, as I had my wife and two children
Airbag sensor light turns on and off intermittently. I have tried to figure ot what is causing this but cant seem to find anything. Its happened alot over the last 6 months. Nervous the airbags might deploy for no reason.
The brake switches on these vehicles may malfunction, keeping the brake lights illuminated. This is the same warning in the recall for 2017 Dodge caravans, yet my VIN is not included in the recall, and Chrysler is refusing to fix. The current recall says " Chrysler (fca us llc) is recalling certain 2017 Dodge caravan and Jeep wrangler vehicles. The brake switches on these vehicles may malfunction, keeping the brake lights illuminated and/or allowing the vehicle to be shifted out of the park position without the brake pedal being pushed."
