An electrical short can increase the risk of a fire. Turn signal, instrument cluster or seatbelt pretensioner problems can increase the risk of a crash.

An electrical short can increase the risk of a fire. Turn signal, instrument cluster or seatbelt pretensioner problems can increase the risk of a crash.

Fix: Ford will notify owners, and dealers will add a drainage hole in the driver's door stepwell and incorporate a fuse into the vehicle's wiring harness, free of charge. The recall began on February 9, 2018. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17S34.

Unlike the integrated wired keypad, the accessory wireless keypad master code cannot be retrieved from the vehicle using a diagnostic scan tool or from the label printed on the body control module (BCM). The Factory Keyless Entry Code application within the diagnostic scan tool will not provide an applicable master code for the accessory wireless keypad. In various 2017-2023 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, customers may receive a message in the FordPass or LincolnWay App stating Feature Unavailable. Since this is a fleet vehicle, it cannot access the (SYNC Connect) FordPass or LincolnWay app through the TCU Embedded Modem. If this message appears, the vehicle may be equipped with a fleet telematics module. Replacement of the TCU or TCU related repairs will not prevent this message from appearing. Refer the customer to in app FordPass Guides or LincolnWay Concierge Teams to aid with fleet telematics removal. Open app, select Account > Help > CHAT or CALL option.

2015-2023 Transit vehicles equipped with DRW have a high mount rear marker lamp that does not illuminate with the stop lamps. This lamp assembly may appear to be a stop lamp but is intended to illuminate with the parking lamps only. This information is available in Workshop Manual Section 417-01. The JDDAB feature code description, found under OASIS additional information, is common between single rear wheel and DRW vehicles, and incorrectly reflects stop functionality when applied to DRW units.

My VIN number is not included in the backup camera recall. It says the recall includes the 2017 Transit. My back up camera stopped working about a year ago. Also when the camera stopped working my cruise control stopped working also. I believe this is a larger electrical issue.

Our fleet of Ford transits are all having similar issues. This is the 2nd time this particular vehicle has lost power while driving causing extremely dangerous safety concerns. Vehicle loses ability to control acceleration going into a "limp" mode while on the highway. This poses a serious safety risk to the driver, passenger and all other drivers on the road.
