2017 Honda Accord owner complaints

All the warning lights came on in the dashboard. Took it to the dealer, replaced the steering sensor. Couple months later all the warning lights came on again.

Several instances where my 2017 Honda accord loses power or performance. Two instances are (1) stopped at traffic light and when I hit the gas to pull off it moved but would not do anything after that. The engine was on but no power. Thankfully I was close to a parking lot. The car rolled into the parking lot and a few the cut off on me. The 2nd time I was driving down the road, felt a little jolt and once again the car loss performance and I had to guide it to the side of the road.

All wrong lights came on the dash and all components had failed. Took it to the dealership and they weren't able to diagnose, they reset the system and said that if it failed again I would need to purchase a Honda battery as it had recently replaced with another brand. Everything worked for about two weeks until I was on the freeway with the cruise control set at 75 and suddenly the brakes took me down 35. Very frightening experience. Took it in again and they said I needed to replace the camera in the windshield at $1,900.00: my car only had 42,000 miles and 4 years old. Reluctantly, we replaced and paid for the camera and once again the cruise and lane assist failed a week later. My screen also appears to be defective as it goes black and pixilated and the dealership simply resets it

I was driving on the interstate when the car started to sputter like it was about to kill then several warning lights came on. The check engine light, the steering light and the road traction lights. I got off on the nearest exit and call the tow truck because I was afraid to drive it. It was hesitant to start. I had my new born grandson and daughter with me at the time. This was a very scary situation!

Fuel delivery is starved as if the fuel pump is failing causing a delay in acceleration.

Sunroof shattered while driving down the highway with no apparent cause.

The car battery does not hold charge. If the car is not used for three days to a week, the battery is completely dead. The car must be jump start. I have seen a lot of complaints online regarding the same problem. Based on my previous experience, car battery lasts seven to ten years before experiencing any trouble. I think either there is a faulty sensor or a system in the car that stays on when the car engine is turned off resulting in the complete discharge of the battery.

Rear camera display went black except the guidance lines are displayed when shifting into reverse. Dealership indicates a new display and camera are needed. Disappointed in the quality issue here. Outside of warranty now. There was a recall on 2018 Honda accord rear camera.

Speakers produce full volume static, this loud static sound is unavoidable, it occurs randomly when the car is on and when the audio is on, but once it starts making static sounds, it won't stop. Source input also does not matter. Some observations I have made are that: •It is extremely cold in New Jersey and after the heater is on high for a while and when the car is warmed up it starts to make these unavoidable static sounds. •When the audio is turned off sometimes the static goes away but sometimes it stays even when the audio is turned off. •Once it starts making static sounds, even turning off the car and turning it back on with the audio off doesn't make the static sounds go away. While driving on the highway with my family on Tuesday, [XXX] the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) failed and created a dangerous and hazardous situation for my family and others on the road. The D3 warning light and check engine light appeared and simultaneously the vehicle shifted to a lower gear. The vehicle was only operable at a lower speed and gear. We called the nearest Honda dealership for guidance, and they advised us to proceed slowly to the dealership. We drove the very stressful distance with our hazard lights on the entire way while we drove at a lower rate of speed on the highway. This slow rate of speed also posed a hazard as well. We financed a 2017 Honda accord sport CVT on july 17, 2017. We have noticed various issues with the lag/hesitation upon accelerating as well as braking and steering. We searched online to see if anyone else was experiencing the same issues and found multiple complaints revolving around this model vehicle. Driving at highway speed and sunroof glass spontanious exploded. Wasn't under any over passes or behind any vehicles. Luckily, I had the inside cover closed or I would've gotten shards of glass on my head and face while I was driving.

While driving this Honda accord the sunroof suddenly exploded into thousands of little pieces.It rained down pieces of glass all over me and the interior of the car. Nothing hit the glass and I had never heard of this occurring until I began researching to see if it had happened to others. There are many instances where people have talked of this happening to them on the Honda forum and other places online. This is definitely a safety concern. I have had two major issues with my 2017 Honda Accord sport since buying it brand new that the Honda dealership will do nothing about even though I’ve specifically been told twice on two separate occasions that the car was manufactured defected. My mitigation systems has failed multiple times where it just stops responding losing control of the steering and accelerating on its own. One of those times caused me to run off the highway into the ditch. It just randomly iluminates all “mitigation systems failure” at the most random times. I purchased 4 new tires from Braman Honda on 2/2023. I drive the car daily but I also have a take home vehicle for work. On 12/4/25 and 12/5 my son, who is on military leave took the car from Boynton beach to Miami for an appointment. when he returned, he showed me a picture of the dash showing the low tire pressure light on. Up until now, there was no warning of any issues with the tires. I thought that there may be a nail in the tire but to my shock, the front driver side tire was missing chunks. The following week I had the car towed from my house to Braman Honda. My service advisor called to inform me that all 4 tires had tears and cracks in the sidewalls and must be replaced.
