I had a passenger seat belt light on and took it to Jim Coleman Infiniti in Bethesda,MD. They then were going to charge me a diagnostic fee to fix it, but instead proceeded to perform a zero point seat reset and got the error code B00A0 and then the passenger air bag light came on. They subsequently said that the vehicle was not covered under any recall or warranty and said that the seat needed to be replaced and informed me that it would be around 8000 at that time. Now it must be more. Looking at the recall campaign 16V244000 my vehicle does not qualify since it is one model year later, but I have seen others have the same issue that I have with the 2017 Q50. My airbags are currently disabled due to a faulty occupant detection system. I see that this was an Infiniti recall on many2017 Q50s, but my car is not included in the recall. The dealership confirms that my car is not part of the recall. The specific part involved in the recall is the front passenger Occupant Classification System (OCS), which triggers the error code being produced by my car.
The seat belt light went on without a passenger and the dealer decided to perform a zero point reset on the passenger seat and that resulted in a failure and now the airbag light is on. This causes the passenger airbag to not be operational. Before it was just the seat belt. They are now asking for $8000+ to replace the seat and OCS module and they said that they would cut the price by 50% but that is still $4000. The seat belt is covered by 10 year warranty but the airbag is covered only 7 year. I feel that since the seat belt was the iniial problem that it should all be covered under the warranty. I took the car into the dealership to diagnose the reason that I was getting a Seat Belt light and they said that the guide suggested to do a zero point reset on the seat. When they attempted this they said that it failed and now the system has an airbag light on. There is no more seat belt light on now for the passanger side, but there is a hard error code for the airbag system on the passenger side. The Dealership now says the cost to repair is over $8500 when the car is only valued at $10000. Driving 62-67mph on the highway, sunroof shattered. Loud sound of shatter. I was in the very left lane (passing lane). There was a vehicle that cut me off and passed the car in front of me on the left shoulder which may have kicked up debris when it got in front of the vehicle in front of me from shoulder, but video doesn't show it. In October of 2023 I was driving onto the high way and my car just started to slow down I could not accelerate that gas while I was on the highway which is very dangerous when you are on the highway. My car turn off completely the engine light started to blink. All the lights were blinking. The only thing that was on was my radio. I could not move the car I was having. Trouble putting the car into park. Everything was stuck. Good thing I was not in the middle of the highway and not on a really busy highway but it was late at night. When starting up from being parked the wheels steer the car to the right while I have to pull the steering wheel to the left to keep the car driving straight. The moment I remove the pressure from pulling the wheel left the car takes an immediate right turn. This is not a front end alignment issue as the problem will correct itself. It has taken as short as a couple of miles or as long as a few short trips for it to correct itself. It has happened first thing in the morning, in the afternoon and evening. This safety issue started when the outside temperature was still warm. When the steering does correct itself I can feel the steering wheel being pulled to the right and then the car drives straight again without me applying pulling pressure one way or the other.

The car needed new sprockets after 105K miles. I haven't seen anyone else have this problem, so my car maybe a lemon. But just in case more people start reporting it, I just want to make sure it's on record. The dealership has no idea why they'd fail, as I have had regular, full synthetic oil changes. It's a hefty repair.

The sunroof leaks when it rains creating water inside the interior that holds standing water. It has caused issues with mold which my son it highly allergic to. This issue seems to be a common defect in sunroofs for Infiniti. I've had it repaired, but the problem persists. I have to park it in the garage but I'm not able to when I'm at work.
