The contact stated that the fracture occurred near the rear cabin of the vehicle. The vehicle was later towed from the scene. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 268,967.

The vehicle was then taken to lafayette Ford (2051 sagamore pkwy s, lafayette, in 47905, (765) 447-9444) but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted.
