The contact owns a 2018 Ram 3500. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V896000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The local dealer was contacted, and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the ABS warning light remained illuminated while operating the vehicle, with an audible alarm activated inside the cabin of the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 60,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

The HCU failed twice under warranty illuminating the ABS and TRAC lights disabling ABS functions (obviously fixed by a dealership). This is a safety hazard trying to stop a RAM 3500 without ABS, this in poor weather is beyond UNSAFE. Now, it has failed again not under warranty, same issue, same part. That is four units that have failed in my truck with only 27,000 miles in five years. The brushes in the electric motor start to fail so the ABS/TRAC light will flicker when hitting bumps, or in cold weather. The finally, they stay illuminated disabling crucial brake components and safety systems. I can have my vehicle looked at if necessary, I plan on replacing the HCU myself when the part arrives in a week (I work for a dealership).

Abs light/ warning goes off and on continuously. Brought truck in to repair and was told that they aren’t making the parts to repair this known issue on many vehicles. Was told parts available In February which has now been changed to April. This is not acceptable. Along with being very annoying with warning light flashing off and on. It’s also unsafe. My Safety As Well As My Passengers Safety is At Risk Because Apparently My Brakes Dont Work Properly.

Part: 68143491AB The abs, traction control, hydraulic fails. The part begain to fail around Dec of 2022. Progressively has gotten worse. Ram dealership cannot fix or replace. Warning light and chime is off and on roughly 10 times a minute. Pressing on brakes off and on will randomly fix and reproduce the problem.

Service Electronic Brake System Warning. This warning started coming on sporadically. When the warning appears in my dash, I will lose abs function, traction control, and cruise control. This appears to be a common problem with this year Ram truck. The fix is an abs module, and or, a hcu module.

The Anti-Lock Brake & Electronic Braking System error caused the internal Trailer Brake system to shut off trailer brakes just like it shuts off the cruise control when warnings come up on the dashboard. The incident happened Aug 28, 2023 while following my son and my wife in a vehicle ahead of me. I had to change lanes to try to avoid something that suddenly came across in front of my vehicle. I applied the brakes and then the trailer acted like it didn't have any brakes fell over & was totaled. If this was in traffic someone could have been killed. Recall C4B with known issue and known remedy but “no parts available.” Contacted RAM and with no parts they have no solution. You can rent an auto out of pocket and possibly be reimbursed. No option for buyback or solution. Recall came out 12/5/2024.

Traction control and abs lights have been coming on randomly while driving over the past several years. Seems worse and more frequent in cold temperatures. Scanner reads code C0020. Cruise control suddenly shuts off when this happens causing a safety hazard especially to those traveling behind. Dash lights and constant chimes are very distracting while driving. No abs makes winter driving more dangerous as well. Seems to be a common problem with this vehicle. There should be a recall issued to fix this.

Right before 36000 miles the ABs and Traction control lights come on and off intermittently. I took the truck to my local dealer and was told 2 components needed to be replaced. They informed me it was not covered under warranty and they did not have the parts nor knew when they might get them in. This has been 4 or more months now and the lights stay on more often than they are off. I can’t use cruise control and it will not pass inspection with the lights on.

12/19/2022: While driving, brakes were not working properly. Depressed fully to floor or pumped to try to stop. Check engine lights coming on and off. PERFORM SERVICE, SERVICE DPF SYSTEM, CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Perform service light prior to failure and taken to dodge dealership. Vehicle was inspected by 2 Dodge Dealerships. Extended warranty company National AutoCare failed to show to inspect vehicle both times at Dodge Dealership. Problem was diagnosed by dodge but never fixed…. Safety is at risk when driving vehicle and is available upon request any help is appreciated!

Continually gets abs stability error. Unit has been replaced once less than year ago. Comes on if vehicle sits or hits a bump. Lose of abs cruise and continual dinging.

In September 2023 I started getting a warning to service the ABS system. The warning and associated annoying tone would appear and than disappear at different times. I spoke with the service manager from Lithia Dodge where I purchased the truck. He told me that he was unable to service my truck because the ABS parts are not available. I was told that like a great number of Ram truck owners, I had to "hurry up and wait for a solution." This is unacceptable. To make matters worse, I am moving out of the country in February. I had a buyer for my truck and now it is un-sellable due to this ABS issue. I hope that a re-call will be issued soon so those of us with this common issue can get some relief. Thank you

Dealing with intermittent service brake system messages for over a year now. Light is constant now which means my ABS / anti skid/ and cruise control no longer function. Believe this is the ongoing HCU / ABS module known issue. Frustrating going into the winter months with such a heavy vehicle and loss of safety feature with no fix from Ram.

The Bosch CP4 fuel pump internally disintegrated sending metal shavings throughout the fuel system. On the highway accelerating out of a toll both without warning, the truck lost almost all acceleration power and began to shudder. There weren't any preexisting warning lamps or messages. Any time after that when accelerating up to highway speeds quickly or attempting to maintain highway speeds the truck would lose acceleration and begin to shudder. When I took it to a mechanic, they informed me the CP4 fuel pump had "grenaded" and the whole fuel system needed to be replaced. If this had happened when merging into traffic or crossing at an intersection, I could have been hit because I couldn't accelerate as needed.
