I experienced a spontaneous windshield crack on my vehicle, it started in the upper darkened section of the windshield.
The contact owns a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle and activating the front window defroster, moments later while driving at an undisclosed speed, the front windshield started to crack. The contact stated that the crack started from the bottom of the windshield and extended toward the driver’s side of the windshield. The crack extended approximately 22 inches. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified but the manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 33,000. The contact stated that they would like to cancel this complaint.
After having cowl replaced under warranty, at the dealership, I drove vehicle home (3 miles) and placed in garage. Next day, noticed 10 inch crack on lower passenger side of windshield. Took car to have looked at by dealership who stated crack had to come from rock and refused to replace. On my way home, I did not take a rock to my windshield. The Service Manager stated he would call Subaru regarding my issue. He has never called to provide any update.
A few days ago I went out to my shop to get in my car to go to work and when I got in my car I noticed a giant crack in the window that is in the middle of the window down at the bottom and it starts under the wipers and is about 6 inches long. Then a few days went by and I was driving to work again on the high way in the rain and it cracked another 2 inches.
My 2019 Subaru Crosstrek has a little over 19000 miles on it, and my windshield has cracked for the third time. The first time was after a rock strike at the edge of my windshield; the vehicle did not make it the couple miles home before it had split several inches. The second and third times seem spontaneous. Both cracks originated from the bottom of the glass on the passenger's side, and there were no known rock strikes either instance. Both instances, the windshield cracked several inches while the vehicle was parked. In the third instance, the vehicle had only been sitting an hour between use, and a six inch crack appeared within that time. None of the three windshields have sustained any other damage beyond the cracks. Subaru has recently undergone lawsuits regarding this issue with
I woke up one morning and found my windshield cracked. It's literally above the defroster for the glass when its winter. It spread for no reason nothing was thrown and I was not in any accident for that to crack on it's own because it was cold. I live in queens, ny and we havent had any cold cold winters yet for that to have happened on it own. The vehicle was parked when I discovered the crack. I cant use the defogger because it will make the windshield crack even more!

My first Subaru. On the drive home from the dealership, a rock cracked the windsheild. Less than a week later, while traveling on a freeway for just a few minutes, another rock hit the windshield and caused a major crack/ long line across on another part of the window. So unexpected, unusual and I hope not predictive of consistent glass issues. The bigger issue is that upon acceleration, the acceleration often, briefly, loses power. Like something is impeding the fuel momentarily. I've become accustomed to it but it took some getting used to. I worry that it is the sign of a major defect/issue. The car is the current model year, though, I did purchase it with 6,000 miles on it. I've wondered if these issues are what caused the previous owner to trade it in within months of buying it new.
Not sure yet what component or system failed as the car is being towed to dealer. On 12/23/24, The engine made a grinding noise and then the car completelyshut down and froze on the Highway. No Power, All the Dashboard lights flashed on - and I could not put the car in Park. Since I was on the highway - my safety and safety of drivers behind me were at great risk until a help truck was able to block the road. Car will be inspected by Subaru on 12/26. Subaru was closed 12/23 PM, 12/24, 12/25 There were NO warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of a problem prior to the failure.
Driving about 40 miles an hour, and it was quite a windy day and a small pebble hit the windshield and caused a small crack which quickly elongaged to about 36 inches
Cuts out momentarily when accelerator is pressed and dealer says thats normal. This is dangerous when merging in traffic.

For the third time, the battery on this car needs to go back for service - the car is housed in a garage on our property and is turned on every 3-4 days. This morning and twice before the car doesn't start. In the previous 2 times the car was completely dead and I had to jump start it and take it to the dealer where they said they replaced the battery. This morning when trying to start the car, the lights were flashing but the engine did not turn over. The same thing happened with our last Subaru a 2015 Subaru impreza. We feel the car should not need to be started every day nor should we need to put on a trickle charger as suggested by jeff at paul miller Subaru who I understand is the service manager there in parsippany, nj where we bought the car. The car was parked inside the garage. Al
Today, 12/19/2021, marks the sixth (6th) time my car’s battery has failed and forced me to call Star Link to schedule and wait for a battery jump. Subaru refused to replace my battery after the 3rd and also refused to check the grounding wire upon a service inspection. This battery is faulty and Subaru knows it. My child has been with me in three of th de ridiculous occasions of waiting for jumper cables and has been frightened each time. This is totally unacceptable and is costing my family time, money, and emotional distress.
I was driving in traffic to complete stop, as I was accelerating the vehicle stalled. This has happened only once. I have had another incident when I was backing up to park my car in my garage, my back up camera froze while im still in motion then the infotainment reboots.
Hi. I purchase my 2019 Subaru crosstrek in october of 18 because I decided to suck it up and have a payment to ensure I had a safe vehicle for myself and for my son. Since we always purchase subarus through my work, I went that route because I've been very pleased with them especially with safety. In may of 2000 19, I was driving to harrisburg for work and I had my son with me and a whole egg that was presenting at the conference we were headed to. On the way there, on 22 east where there was a lot of construction but a highway, I went to go around a truck where I accelerated and went to go into the slower lane once I passed him but all the sudden, I lost complete power and my car shut off!!! I hurried up and got it back on and somehow the truck that I just passed was able to maneuver but

I see this as a potential safety problem and not an immediate safety problem. It involves a 2019 Subaru crosstrek. On 3 different occasions, weeks or months apart, the hood has popped up 1 inch and has been stopped by the safety hook. I notice this only when I reach highway speeds and the front hood "flutters" up and down. There is no indication, from inside the car, that the hood has partially released at speeds under 50 MPH. On none of these 3 occasions, has the hood release lever, near the drivers left leg, been activated, pulled or bumped. I've only intentionally opened the hood once or twice -- and the process seems normal. This hood release problem has never resulted in loss of forward vision or with the hood in a fully "up" position. The car is 7 months old with about 7,500 miles

Intermittent Power Steering Malfunction while driving causing car to violently "self-steer". Vehicle is NOT equipped with adaptive cruise control or lane assist features. Loss of control while driving become intermittently high risk having to clutch the steering wheel and counteract undesired vehicle self-steering forces to avoid hitting other cars on the road. No other vehicles or other property were damaged during discovery of EPS malfunction. Malfunction occurs at highway speeds and also local town speeds. There are no check engine lights present on vehicles OBD system. Vehicle is only ever serviced at the same dealership where originally purchased. Upon occurrences of malfunction, vehicle was taken to dealership for diagnostic testing. The dealership's determination is th

The contact owned a 2019 Subaru Crosstrek. The contact stated while her husband was driving at 25-30 MPH downhill, the tractor trailer before him slowed down at a curve. The contact's husband depressed the brake pedal but it failed to respond and the vehicle accelerated unintendedly, causing the vehicle to fall into a ditch where it bounced and hit the rear of a trailer, then bounced back into the embankment. The passenger's side and driver's side roof rail air bags deployed. The frontal air bags failed to deploy. The emergency units transported the contact and her husband to the hospital where it was diagnosed that the contact had sustained a compression fracture in her back. Her husband did not sustain any injuries. The occupant of the trailer did not sustain any injuries. A police repor
