Some vehicles may exhibit wiper blade contact with the A-pillar trim, with or without a chattering noise. This condition may be caused by worn or contaminated wiper blades. It can also be caused by bent wiper arms, or loose wiper arm retaining nuts due to improper handling. Improper handling occurs when pulling on or forcing the wiper arms. Technicians should be aware that while replacement of the wiper blade may resolve some cases, correction of bent components or repositioning of the wiper arms, particularly when the retaining nut is loose, requires additional steps to ensure proper alignment and function.

Is there a fix? Manufacturer service bulletins
The manufacturer has issued service bulletins covering visibility on this vehicle — documented repair instructions, service campaigns, or warranty extensions sent to dealers. A TSB isn't a recall (it's not a free safety remedy), but it's the manufacturer acknowledging the issue and how to fix it.
Some customers may complain about color discrepancies (brightness differences) of the image displayed on the screen when using the 360°view monitor. As this phenomenon is not a system failure, do not make any repairs or replace any parts.

To reduce the risk of this occurrence, the AUTO function is disabled if the power window is operated 10 consecutive times without being fully closed (turning the ignition OFF and then ON does not reset the counting). If the power window is fully closed before the 10th time, the counting restarts and the AUTO function is not deactivated.

Was driving on interstate, during the afternoon, not close to any other traffic ahead. It was neither raining nor particularly windy. I heard a very loud “explosion” sound, like a gunshot. I pulled over and my sunroof is bowed OUTWARD a little, and missing a big section of glass. There is no rock or debris laying on the interior screen, and the sunroof is NOT concave like from an impact. It is…
Manufacturing defect in the windshield glass: distorted/warped windshield glass causing waves/ripples. Result: impaired visibility when operating vehicle and rapid eye fatigue. Google search (forums) indicates that this is a well known issue on several Mazda models. The issue presumably existed at factory. I noticed upon purchase as CPO at 6k miles. Available for inspection if needed.
I have noticed the windshield is distorted and from reports all over the Internet that seems to be an issue with 20-22 mazda cx-30’s and I don’t think Mazda is going to replace it. It causes me to get fatigued, and a little dizzy at times during long distance driving.
Common questions
How serious is the visibility problem on the 2021 Mazda CX-30?
It's a documented issue but not catastrophic. 8 complaints have been filed. Repairs average $350 and most owners catch it before it causes a breakdown.
At what mileage does the visibility typically fail?
Mileage data is limited for this issue. Owners report failures across a wide range, suggesting cause is more about driving conditions and maintenance than mileage alone.
What does it cost to fix?
Independent shops typically charge around $350 for visibility repairs on this vehicle. Dealer pricing tends to run 20-40% higher. The exact figure depends on the specific failure mode, parts availability, and your local labor rates. If you're outside factory warranty, an extended service contract often covers this category.
Are there any recalls related to visibility?
No active recalls currently cover visibility issues on this vehicle. The complaints filed represent owner-reported failures that haven't risen to the level of a manufacturer-issued recall — but they're still worth knowing about before you buy or budget for repairs.
