2022 Ford Bronco Sport visibility problems

Various 2021-2025 Ford and Lincoln vehicles equipped with the rear camera on demand feature may exhibit "Please Check Surroundings For Safety" or "Full View Not Available" messages when the rear camera button is pressed and the vehicle is not in reverse. Inform customers this condition is considered normal operation and does not affect vehicle durability because the full rear view camera image can only be shown when the vehicle is in reverse. No additional diagnosis or service is required for this condition.

Some 2021-2023 Bronco Sport and 2020-2023 Escape vehicles may exhibit a rattle or flapping noise coming from the rear air extractors while driving. This may be due to the normal operation of the rear air extractors. To determine if this is a normal condition, perform a road test at 40 mph (65 km/h) or above. Inspect if the noise is coming from the rear extractors. During the road test alternate air conditioning (A/C) between fresh mode and air re-circulation mode. If the noise is eliminated when the A/C is in fresh mode, this is considered a normal characteristic of the vehicle and no repairs should be performed.

Some 2021-2023 Bronco Sport vehicles equipped with a 1.5L engine may exhibit: insufficient cooling from the air conditioning (A/C), under hood popping/knocking/hissing noises and/or under hood smoke, coolant stains and/or spills on to the A/C compressor and clutch assembly. The compressor clutch might fail after operating the A/C system if the exterior of the compressor gets wet. Perform pin point test J, refer to the Workshop Manual, Section 412-00 Climate Control System > General Information > Diagnosis and Testing. If a compressor clutch failure is identified, replace the compressor clutch only. Do not replace the A/C compressor if no performance issues are identified. Document the PPT J

All 2021-2023 Bronco Sport vehicles have a headlamp low beam pattern with a dark band above the vertical reference line. It is by design that there is no light directed in this area to satisfy regulatory requirements and also to minimize glare to oncoming traffic. Secondly, in the low beam pattern there is some light directed upward to satisfy regulatory requirements and also to assist with overhead sign visibility. This a characteristic of the vehicle. Do not attempt any repairs for this condition.

Some 2021-2022 Bronco Sport vehicles built on or before 07-Nov-2022 may exhibit a squeak/rattle/creak noise from the roof opening panel when the glass is closed or in vent position while driving on uneven highways. This may be due to roof opening panel bolts not being properly secured. To correct this condition, confirm that the bolts on each side of the moon roof are properly tightened. If the bolts are not properly tightened, tighten the bolts. Refer to the Workshop Manual Section (WSM), Section 501-17 Roof Opening Panel Glass > Removal and Installation.
