The Anti-Theft System on the car randomly looses power. This causes the car's power to cut out when you are slowing down and apply the brakes to stop. Once the power cuts, you have to wait about 30 seconds before the ignition Start button illuminates again to restart the car. Once you restart the car the screen on the center dash (stereo/navigation screen) states the Anti-Theft System lost power and you must push the power button in on the stereo for a few seconds to reset it. When it occurs while at a stop sign, traffic signal or during stop and go traffic, other drivers have to wait for you to reset the car so you can proceed and get out of the way. When it occurs during parking, you get out of the car and when you attempt to lock the car it will not since the system lost power. You have

Third row drivers-side power outlet caught on fire while dropping kids off at school. Kids started saying they smelled smoke while driving. Six year old child was sitting in seat right next to the power outlet shouted the van was on fire, everyone exited vehicle Fire extinguisher from school was used to put the fire out. Fire department came, stated the fire seemed electrical in nature; do not have fire department report yet. Plastic and surrounding area are melted from the fire. Vehicle is currently sitting at mechanics lot waiting to hear back from Honda; insurance told us to wait to hear back from Honda before they would do anything. Called the Honda Customer Care on the date of the incident and have still not heard back from them; have called multiple times and they say we are in a que
Engine turns off by itself at stop. Auto idle stop was not turned on. It also happened when i pressed the reverse button. When it turns off by itself, i have to turn it back on and put it back into gear. It happened 4 times today
The idle start stop feature constantly doesn’t work on our 2022 Honda Odyssey Touring. When stopped at a light or stop sign the engine will turn off COMPLETELY, causing me to have to put the car in park and restart the car. Also, sometimes the van will start, sometimes it won't. I replaced the battery and now it starts but it is still turning itself off in traffic. There have been several incidents where this is during rush hour traffic causing traffic jams and we have been very close to being rear ended. Sometimes I have to wait a few minutes before it will actually turn over. This is EXTREMELY unsafe and should be addressed by Honda with a FREE fix for all owners. I've taken it to the dealership and, after scanning my VIN, told that my specific Odyssey doesn't have any open recalls or ser
The liftgate on my vehicle stopped functioning in March 2024, one month after the warranty expired. On June 24, 2025, the vehicle underwent a power tailgate unit replacement and water leak repair at Ocean Honda of Brockton. Water had leaked into the tailgate unit and caused it to short out. The total cost for this repair was $1,776.18. I have attached a copy of the paid service repair summary and proof of payment. My primary concern, beyond the financial burden, is the inherent safety risk posed by this malfunction. As a parent of three children, we specifically chose the Honda Odyssey for its reputation for safety and reliability as a family vehicle. A power tailgate unit that can fail due to water infiltration presents a serious hazard, as it could cause the tailgate to unexpectedly ope
On October 31, 2025, I brought my vehicle to the dealer for several issues, including an Auto Engine Idle Stop System problem, a memory seat malfunction, and other concerns that were discussed with the service advisor and are listed in the invoice. I was charged almost $1,000, including a new battery. Initially, some of the problems appeared to be resolved, but shortly after the service, the Auto Engine Idle Stop System problem reappeared, and the memory seat stopped working again. Even more concerning, a new and dangerous issue began immediately after the repair: while driving at night, the headlights suddenly turn off for a few seconds and then turn back on, and the “Auto Engine Idle Stop System Problem” warning appears at the same time. This issue never occurred before the dealer perf
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving 40 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact stated upon depressing the brake pedal, the brake pedal was stiff and would not go down. The contact was unable to pull to the side of the road and allowed the vehicle to roll until it came to a complete stop. The contact and his son exit the vehicle. The contact stated that while they were standing on the sidewalk, his son noticed that the message "Push the Start Button and Hold for Two Seconds" was displayed on the instrument panel. The contact's son pressed the START button as instructed and was able to restart the vehicle. The contact was able to drive at 20 MPH to the nearby dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notifi

While at a stop sign in a residential area, after going approx 20 mph, the rear windshield spontaneously exploded. It threw glass into the back seats where there were children.
The glass sunroof exploded on our 2022 Honda Odyssey. No prior issues, dents, etc., serviced consistently by the local dealership. While driving on the highway an explosion sound occurred overhead. No overpasses were nearby, nor were any projectiles witnessed. Thankfully, the interior sunroof shade was completely closed, preventing the thousands of pieces of broken glass from falling into the vehicle. Thankfully, we were also able to avoid an accident in the moment. Talked to local dealership and Honda Americas. Both simply said I was out of warranty, even though this is a massive safety failure. A simple google search will show this is a known issue across Honda Odyssey sunroofs, Honda CRV back windshields and Honda HRV back windshields. All of these cars should be recalled.
I was driving around 65mph,decided to get off the exit, and the vehicle slammed on the brakes, another time a deer ran out in front of me while I was going 40mph,I hit the brake was able to keep from hitting the deer and the vehicle comtinued to brake,it has happened while the cruise control was on as well,so far it has happend 6 times, either slams on the brakes or continues to brake even after letting off the brakes,I am scared to drive it not knowing when it will happen again,it gives no notice,I have been lucky that a car has not hit me from behind….this is a serious issue that needs to be investigated and resolved, before one of my family members gets seriously hurt..
The Camera/sensors are defective and are dying. My vehicle is less than 2 years old and all these features are not working. Honda is saying I need to replace the camera out of my own pocket. I'm seeing online that this is a common problem to a lot of Honda owners
Immediately after picking up my vehicle following the replacement of the front bumper, I noticed the keyless entry system started to malfunction. When I touched the driver’s door handle, it didn’t respond as it should. Instead, I had to use the rear left passenger door handle to unlock the driver’s door. Additionally, the vehicle used to emit a warning buzz if any doors were not properly closed. However, after the repair, this warning sound no longer functions. When the doors are properly closed, the vehicle typically beeps twice in quick succession, but these beeps are sometimes too faint to hear due to background noise. Three days ago, I returned home after dark and unknowingly left my vehicle unlocked in the driveway because I didn’t hear the usual warning sound. That night, a burglar
My power sunroof busted randomly while driving. Thank goodness I had it closed underneath me or else the glass would have fallen on me. It was sudden & I was not under a bridge or anything else to make me believe a rock or debris hit it. Additionally could not find a trace of a rock or anything afterwards. Not only did this pose a threat to me, but the glass flew behind me & caused an issue for the cars behind me.
airbags 2 complaints shown
While waiting at a traffic light, I began moving as soon as the light turned green. However, I was momentarily blinded by the sun and accidentally hit the curb. The airbag deployed but failed to inflate properly; it just fizzled out and hung limp, like a deflated balloon. Fortunately, I was traveling at less than 5 mph, and no one was injured. However, the situation could have been much worse if the vehicle had been moving at a higher speed.
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Odyssey that was modified by the BraunAbility company. The contact stated that after the vehicle was modified with a new floor, suspension, seats, and wiring for a ramp, the airbag warning light illuminated. The contact stated the vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for BraunAbility where the failure was diagnosed as an airbag and seat belt sensor failure. The contact stated that he was informed that the BraunAbility company was unable to fix the failure. The manufacturer BraunAbility was contacted but offered no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 500.
seatbelts 1 complaint shown
While breaking, rear driver’s side passenger seat disengaged. Our 8 year old son was in seat with seat belt on. Upon breaking the seat propelled him forward. His face hit drivers seat and he was lacerated and concussed. Not only did the seat locking mechanism fail, but seat belt lock did not engage or prevent him from being flung. Brought vehicle to dealership same day as incident. They claim to have attempted to recreate incident, but used an adult male (instead of a 50lb “dummy”). Because they couldn’t recreate the unlocking of seat or explain failure of seatbelt to restrain, was told nothing is wrong and they attempted to “close the case” with nothing fixed, replaced or explained.
visibility 1 complaint shown
The contact owns a 2022 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact became aware that the driver’s side side view mirror displayed an extremely distorted image, which severely compromised the side view visibility. The contact also stated that the mirror had previously been replaced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 23V174000 (Visibility). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed a failure with the driver’s side mirror. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was 20,000.
brakes 1 complaint shown
Warped rotors causing violent shaking of the steering wheel in fast braking. Had dealership turn rotors and fixed the problem for a couple days but the rotors started acting up again after a couple days.
powertrain 1 complaint shown
The transmission failed on two separate occasions. The first instance occurred while making a left turn when the gear shifting malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to emit a groaning noise. This happened at a speed of less than 5 mph and lasted only a couple of seconds. The second incident took place while I was waiting at a traffic light. When the light turned green, my vehicle failed to move. I immediately turned on the emergency lights, as I was the first car in the lane. More than half a dozen vehicles passed me before I turned off the engine and restarted it, which allowed me to move just before the light turned red again. This situation was risky, as I could have been rear-ended by cars behind me. This reminded me of a few unfortunate incidents in the past where I was hit from behind
engine 1 complaint shown
Engine totally shut down at a stop sign. No indicator lights were on, the van was completely "dead". The van restarted after continuously mashing engine start button for 4 minutes. During the other occurrence, the engine would not restart after a short store stop but some of the lights were on on the dashboard. The van restarted after about a minute. These occurrences happened within 2 weeks of each other and the mileage was between 44,000-46,000mi.
