Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2022 Lincoln Aviator and Ford Explorer vehicles
Improperly heat-treated engine rails may reduce the vehicle's structural protection in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. In addition, an engine rail may detach and contact the road while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will perform an engine rail strength test and replace the rails as necessary, free of charge. If the engine rails require replacement, owners will have the option for a vehicle replacement or buyback. Owner notification letters were mailed August 22, 2022. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22C13.
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Aviator vehicles
Detached trim may cause a road hazard and increase the risk of a crash.
Fix: Dealers will repair or replace C-pillar appliques and window division bars, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed September 29, 2025. Owners may contact Ford Customer Service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 25S66.

Some 2020-2022-Corsair, 2021-2023 Nautilus, 2020-2024 Navigator/Aviator, and 2021-2024 Mustang Mach-E vehicles equipped with phone-as-a-key may exhibit various phone-as-a-key concerns with diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) U200D:15, U200E:15, U200F:15, B1589:31/49 through B1598:31/49, B1A56:31/49, B1D55:31/49, and/or B15A5:56 stored in the remote function actuator (RFA) module. If any of these DTCs are detected during diagnostics, clear the DTCs, reprogram the RFA to the latest software level and start a new Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) session. This article supersedes TSB 23-2181 to add 2024 vehicle model year. Some 2020-2024 Explorer/Aviator vehicles may exhibit a lack of audio and/or a water leak in the rear liftgate area and/or water in the spare tire area. The customer may indicate that this concern is more noticeable after a car wash or rainfall. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to identify the leak path.
2022-2024 Explorer/Aviator vehicles built on or after 28-May-2022, 2022-2024 Expedition/Navigator vehicles built on or after 08-Jun-2022, 2022-2024 Escape vehicles built on or after 01-Jun-2022 and 2022 Corsair vehicles built on or after 01-Jun-2022 are no longer equipped with a hands free liftgate system. The vehicle is not misbuilt. The addition of any parts is not a warrantable repair. Do not submit a claim for this condition.
Some 2020-2024 Aviator vehicles may exhibit concerns that reqiure loadspace trim panel vent register replacement. The vent register is now available separately (service base part number 19893). It is no longer necessary to replace the entire loadspace trim panel.
Some 2020-2023 Aviator vehicles built on or before 12-Oct-2022 may exhibit a door ajar or door fault warning message present in the message center with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) B1175:19, B1176:19, B11C0:19 and/or B11C1:19 present in door latch control module E (DCME), door latch control module F (DCMF), door latch control module G (DCMG) and/or door latch control module H (DCMH). This may be due to low battery voltage and DTC thresholds being too low and not a fault in the door latch assembly. Rear door trim came loose and fell off while driving. Had the service department at the local dealership look at the missing trim on the rear of the car and they noticed multiple of the plastic clips holding the trim on the rear were broken and remained in the area where the trim was attached.

Vehicle had roof leak which resulted in visible water stains on roof liner, issue persists with now having rust stains on liner from the same area the roof leak was occurring.
