A loose brake pedal can result in a loss of braking function, increasing the risk of a crash.

Fix: Owners are advised not to drive their vehicle until the repair has been performed. Dealers will replace the brake pedal and bracket assembly, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 21, 2023. Owners may contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 23S61.

To correct the condition, reprogram the ABS module using the latest software level of the Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS) diagnostic scan tool.
