2024 Jeep Wagoneer owner complaints

While making a left turn on a green left turn arrow the vehicle for no reason slammed on the brakes without any notice. Causing the car to come to a violent stop. And almost causing us to be rear ended. The violent stop caused both of us injuries to our backs and necks.

Unexplained and dangerous transmission issue resulting in stalling while driving at low speeds, electronic malfunction, and check engine light which first occurred on 7/23/24 when the vehicle had roughly 3,500 miles. Vehicle was with dealer service from July 24-August 15, 2024. During that time, repair was allegedly attempted twice and vehicle returned to me on 8/15/24 after allegedly a replacement part was installed from Jeep/Chrysler HQ. Was told by the dealer service rep the issue was a known issue and other Wagoneers had been brought in with the same issue when I retrieved the vehicle. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked in the garage for approximately 8 days, and upon returning to the vehicle, the contact noticed that the battery was fully drained. The contact was able to jumpstart the vehicle with assistance. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was confirmed that it was a common issue for the battery to become drained, needing to be charged after the vehicle was parked and unused for several days. The dealer advised the contact to have a jump starter handy. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

Third time while driving the car just stops stays on drive but car is completely dead. Have to put in park and turn off and on car to go. Also have a few times of the car is in a parking spot and then go to reverse stop limit brakes and it won’t let you go when you put it into drive. It does the same thing and it’s stuck until you turn the car off and back on.. The most scary thing is twice it’s been in the middle of the intersection that it’s died today. It happened for the fourth time three times in a row. I have taken my car into Jeep and has been there for over 69 days in total for many different electrical issues. Within less than 24 hours of picking the vehicle up from the thermostat repair on XXX6, it began shutting off on its own and losing engine RPM, including while being driven on the freeway and while stopped at a red light. It shut off completely on its own two times in the first 24 hours back in my possession, with no warning that the vehicle was about to lose power. Losing power on the freeway risks a sudden loss of motive power at highway speed and a high-speed collision, and shutting off at a red light risks being unable to move out of an intersection or accelerate away from a hazard, with a heightened risk of being struck. The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH on the interstate, the vehicle stalled. While the contact’s husband was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle shut down, and the driver was able to coast off the roadway. The vehicle was able to be restarted. The check engine warning light turned on and off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed and determined that the failure was caused by the auxiliary battery. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The dealer stated that the failure was caused by the heat. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and opened a case. On November 17, 2025, my vehicle engine overheated and shutdown while my wife was driving and left my wife and school aged daughter stranded on the side of the road. Took vehicle to dealership and they identified the Thermostat to be faulty and needing replaced. on March 27, 2025, NHTSA issued a Technical Service Bulletin (09-006-25) and a Rapid Service Update (25-047) to Dealerships advising them of the issues nationwide with faulty Thermostats. I would like to request this be a recalled item for 2022-2024 Jeep Wagoneers to replace the faulty thermostats. There is nothing safe about driving a vehicle that shuts down on the road while driving and leaving people stranded on busy roads and highways, especially when they know it is an ongoing issue.

With less than 500 miles on the vehicle, while stopped at a stoplight, the vehicle automatically shifted from drive to park and had to be restarted in order to accelerate forward. Check engine light also came on. When stopped at the same light again moments later, the same thing occurred. These events happened within a couple minutes of each other. Vehicle would not accelerate until restarted. Took vehicle to get serviced, the next day within minutes after leaving the dealership and servicing, the check engine light came on after accelerating at a stop light with the same engine error codes.

Vibrations in steering and seating despite multiple balancing attempts and new tires

Vehicle is one week old from dealership with 382 miles on odometer at time of incident. Driving under normal conditions. Paved city street in dry weather. Vehicle lost engine power and showed the error message on gauge cluster “shift into p”. Accelerator would not work till stopped vehicle in the middle of the road and shifted to park and back to drive gear.

2024 Wagoneer was shifting weird, throwing itself in parking mode. Shutting off and making you stop while driving to shift in desired gear. Throwing itself in park going down the highway and about had us in a head on collision. Motor has loss of lower and overheating. Multiple misfires on multiple cylinders on all 3 occasions when returned to the dealership. Unable to fix on multiple attempts. Car is still in dealership garage awaiting to be repaired.

Vehicle shut down 4 times in traffic almost causing an accident each time loss of power and steering. This all occurred in 1 day.

About 45 minutes into a drive, vehicle bogged down. Dash started flashed high coolant theme then immediately after got an alert for low oil pressure. Immediately pulled over to the side of the road and shut the vehicle off. Took almost an hour for vehicle to cool down enough to check coolant level. Level was completely gone. Very minimal level in the reservoir. Levels were just checked at a service appointment not even 2 weeks ago. No signs of any leaks on the floor inside the building my vehicle is parked in. I have taken my vehicle in several times to get it checked out regarding an issue i have been having since the beginning of the year. I have a severe, recurring engine-stalling safety defect. The vehicle has been in the shop in Boerne texas several times. The engine completly dies, requiring a full manual key/button cycle to restart in/out of traffic. It cuts the power steering and forces the vehicle into park, these are safety issues since at times i sit in traffic for two hours or when i have my newborn grandson traveling with me when i have to travel out of city.

At stoplight getting ready to turn left light turns green I proceed going about 15 20 mph in the middle of the intersection middle of the turn the car just slammed on its brakes. I thought I got in a car accident but looked around and there was no other cars around.
