2024 Jeep Wagoneer owner complaints

While making a left turn on a green left turn arrow the vehicle for no reason slammed on the brakes without any notice. Causing the car to come to a violent stop. And almost causing us to be rear ended. The violent stop caused both of us injuries to our backs and necks.

Unexplained and dangerous transmission issue resulting in stalling while driving at low speeds, electronic malfunction, and check engine light which first occurred on 7/23/24 when the vehicle had roughly 3,500 miles. Vehicle was with dealer service from July 24-August 15, 2024. During that time, repair was allegedly attempted twice and vehicle returned to me on 8/15/24 after allegedly a replacement part was installed from Jeep/Chrysler HQ. Was told by the dealer service rep the issue was a known issue and other Wagoneers had been brought in with the same issue when I retrieved the vehicle. Dealer service could/would not confirm if issue was recreated but assume so since the vehicle was kept for so long. Sudden stalling and check engine light occurred again on 10/3/2024. The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that the vehicle was parked in the garage for approximately 8 days, and upon returning to the vehicle, the contact noticed that the battery was fully drained. The contact was able to jumpstart the vehicle with assistance. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was confirmed that it was a common issue for the battery to become drained, needing to be charged after the vehicle was parked and unused for several days. The dealer advised the contact to have a jump starter handy. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred the contact to the dealer for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 11,000.

Breaks, engine and transmission as well as radio and screen (electrical).

This vehicle has presented a myriad of electrical problems as follows: 1. Glitching in the central display panel. Slow to turn on, flickers at times. 2. ALM (Active Lane Management) system randomly and suddenly turning off. Often unable to turn the ALM system back on while driving. The same issue with the Adaptive Cruise Control system. 3. Vehicle sensors showing "unavailable" on the driver's display screen. 4. Vehicle was completely dead due to both batteries dying (main and auxillary) 5. Engine ran hot after a short period of time. Temperature reached as high as 253 degrees, then the engine overheating sign came on, followed by Low Oil pressure notification. Oil pressure dropped to at least 21 psi 6. The vehicle is stalling. The vehicle has been to the dealership three times and they cannot figure out the issue. The vehicle has only been inspected by dealership. There was no warning lamps or message of this issue. The issues started two weeks after we purchased the vehicle.

Without any warning my car will power off, then power on while I've been stopped at a light and getting ready to make a left turn. Incident has occurred on 3 separate occasions.

Vehicle is 4 months old and has 2300 miles on it. Randomly and suddenly the vehicle will lose power while in traffic. No steering or engine power. It will abruptly coast to a stop, put itself into park, and stall. Several lights will come on. All the lights but the check engine lights disappear after letting the car sit. The car sometimes turns over only to stall a few seconds later. If left to sit for 30 minutes or so, it will drive again. Obviously a car that shuts off and loses power while driving is a big safety issue. I am unsure if I should drive it again, in case it happens at the wrong time. Leaving for work this morning and reversed out of parking spot, tried to pull out onto a busy road and almost died. The car just kinda rolled forward a bit and would not accelerate or do anything! The ignition switch was blinking. I could not reverse or go forward or put it in park, the gear shifter lights were all blinking as well. I couldn’t shut the car off to restart it. I could not change gears or go anywhere but sit in the middle of an intersection with cars approaching me at a high rate of speed. It took approx 2 min for the car to do anything. It finally allowed me to shut it off and restart. Check engine light on. I reversed back into the parking lot I had exited from and drove it around to make sure I could accelerate onto this road where people do 70mph. I’m extremely lucky

On November 17, 2025, my vehicle engine overheated and shutdown while my wife was driving and left my wife and school aged daughter stranded on the side of the road. Took vehicle to dealership and they identified the Thermostat to be faulty and needing replaced. on March 27, 2025, NHTSA issued a Technical Service Bulletin (09-006-25) and a Rapid Service Update (25-047) to Dealerships advising them of the issues nationwide with faulty Thermostats. I would like to request this be a recalled item for 2022-2024 Jeep Wagoneers to replace the faulty thermostats. There is nothing safe about driving a vehicle that shuts down on the road while driving and leaving people stranded on busy roads and highways, especially when they know it is an ongoing issue.

With less than 500 miles on the vehicle, while stopped at a stoplight, the vehicle automatically shifted from drive to park and had to be restarted in order to accelerate forward. Check engine light also came on. When stopped at the same light again moments later, the same thing occurred. These events happened within a couple minutes of each other. Vehicle would not accelerate until restarted. Took vehicle to get serviced, the next day within minutes after leaving the dealership and servicing, the check engine light came on after accelerating at a stop light with the same engine error codes.

Vibrations in steering and seating despite multiple balancing attempts and new tires

Vehicle is one week old from dealership with 382 miles on odometer at time of incident. Driving under normal conditions. Paved city street in dry weather. Vehicle lost engine power and showed the error message on gauge cluster “shift into p”. Accelerator would not work till stopped vehicle in the middle of the road and shifted to park and back to drive gear.

The contact owns a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer. The contact stated that while approaching a stop with his foot on the brake pedal, the vehicle shut off once slowed down to 1-3 MPH. As a result of the failure, the contact was forced to restart the vehicle, with the power steering and check engine warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) was reset, and the software was updated. Despite the repair, the contact stated that the failure returned immediately while driving the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 150.

While sitting at the gas station in park, my feet were on the floor not touching the brake or gas pedal, the wagoneer shifted itself into drive and started driving forward and collided with the parking barrier in front of me.

About 45 minutes into a drive, vehicle bogged down. Dash started flashed high coolant theme then immediately after got an alert for low oil pressure. Immediately pulled over to the side of the road and shut the vehicle off. Took almost an hour for vehicle to cool down enough to check coolant level. Level was completely gone. Very minimal level in the reservoir. Levels were just checked at a service appointment not even 2 weeks ago. No signs of any leaks on the floor inside the building my vehicle is parked in. Had vehicle towed to dealership and the thermostat failed according to shop tech. Which is a very common issue for 2022-2024 Wagoneers. And have only been issued as a TSB instead of a recall so manufacturer isn’t responsible to cover this continued problem. A huge safety concern for

My 2024 Jeep Wagoneer L with the 3.0L Hurricane engine began experiencing drivability and warning-light failures at very low mileage and within the first year of ownership. The vehicle was purchased new in October 2024 and experienced its first major drivability/towing event at approximately 10,372 miles. Over the following months, the vehicle experienced repeated check engine light events, shaking, sputtering, hard starting, loss of throttle responsiveness, drivetrain hesitation, and multiple towing incidents despite repeated dealership repair attempts. The most severe safety event occurred in May 2026 at approximately 18,850 miles while traveling on the interstate with my family and young children. At stoplight getting ready to turn left light turns green I proceed going about 15 20 mph in the middle of the intersection middle of the turn the car just slammed on its brakes. I thought I got in a car accident but looked around and there was no other cars around. This was very dangerous and could’ve been catastrophic the car now the next morning was taken to Jeep and they’ve been working on it for two days with no answers. I just bought this car eight days prior to it happening and do not want to get back in this car so I’m trying to do a buyback or lemon. Law are looking for my options for more so you and other people should be notified it’s a dangerous vehicle.

While driving at highway speeds, the jeep suddenly downshifted, revved up a ton, and threw overheat and low oil warnings. The head gasket likely almost blew, we were very close to losing control of the vehicle. After googling, I discovered that this is a problem that Jeep is aware of: dozens of reports online over the last two years, and the dealerships have been buying them back and claiming it's just a thermostat problem rather than issuing a recall for what is obviously a very serious design flaw and safety issue.

On 5/14/26 around 8:00am, I just dropped the kids off to school and entered onto the 5 lane freeway, 290, driving into work. Driving 70 miles an hour, the steering light and a warning light came on and then other lights started flashing. The engine shut off, and the steering wheel felt like it locked-up. I managed to exit off the freeway and the car came to a stop. The car would not restart. A tow was called to take to the nearest dealership. In August 2025, this happened and we were told it was a bad AUX battery and it was replaced. Now we are told it is the PDC that is causing the issue.
