2024 RAM 1500 owner complaints

My 2024 Ram 1500 TRX has recurring safety-related failures of the infotainment system affecting both Uconnect 5 (12” screen) and earlier Uconnect 4 units. These issues are widespread in 2021–2024 Ram TRX and Ram 1500 models and began or worsened after forced over-the-air updates. The primary defect is black-screen failures while driving. On two separate incidents my 2024 RAM [XXX] with ESC displayed multiple dashboard alerts while turning at low speed with an driver alert instruction to shift the knob to park with truck still rolling. On both incidents the engine was shut-off while the vehicle was still rolling. Very dangerous but I had to stop the vehicle completely and shift to park then restart the truck. I will attempt to get camera pics of the display next time it happens. Similar to 2025 RAM ESC recall, the crash safety features are disabled until the vehicle is stopped and restarted. Problem : Noticed that after every IGNITION START / REMOTE START , the 12in infotainment screen freezes for few seconds and goes down entirely with a blip in the speakers. Issue gets resolved after few minutes with manually Turning ON the Screen. Reverse Camera cannot be selected while in reverse during this state. Video is attached for reference. My mom was driving my 2024 Ram 1500 Limited equipped with eTorque and was coming to a stop. While decelerating, the vehicle suddenly and unexpectedly accelerated forward without her intentionally pressing the accelerator pedal. She immediately applied the brakes in an attempt to stop the vehicle, but I was unable to stop it before the vehicle struck a brick building. The collision caused damage to the front of my vehicle and substantial damage to the building’s brick exterior wall. The acceleration was unexpected and occurred while she was attempting to slow/stop the vehicle. My vehicle shut down as I was in drive. Engine was shut off and it engaged the emergency parking brake.

The auto shutoff is working intermittently. Also, the vehicle sometimes shutsdown and won’t restart without putting it in park, then pressing the ignition. Also, the touchscreen works intermittently

On [XXX] at approximately [XXX] on [XXX] south of Madras Oregon. We were on our way to Bend Oregon and just coming up to the scales, when I accelerated to pass a car in the passing lane, all my dash lights lit up and the engine stopped running. Being in heavy traffic this made a dangerous situation with vehicles all around me, while my vehicle was coming to a stop. I was able to pull to the right shoulder to safety. Vehicle: 2024 Ram 1500 Big Horn – 3.6L V6 eTorque Approximate mileage: 41,400 miles I am submitting this complaint regarding multiple incidents involving unexpected engine RPM increases, abnormal acceleration, and delayed throttle response following activation of the Auto Start/Stop system. On two separate occasions, while accelerating, the engine RPMs unexpectedly increased to approximately 3,000–4,000 without a corresponding increase in vehicle speed. The 2024 Ram 1500 3.6L V6 E-Torque engine stalls at low speeds. Without warning the engine shuts off and the emergency brake automatically engages, when the truck comes to a stop it shifts into park, and I have to restart the truck. Fortunately this has only happened in parking lots at speeds of around 5mph. This has happened twice so far. The battery voltage dropped from 13.8 volts to 12.2 volts during both stall events. The truck is 1 year old with 15,324 miles on it.

The contact owns a 2024 Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving with his family at approximately 70 MPH, several unknown warning lights were illuminated, and the vehicle lost motive power and came to a complete stop in the middle of the highway. Additionally, the hazards lights failed to engage as needed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer to be diagnosed; however, the dealer informed the contact that the failure could not be replicated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 3,500.

The truck is on its 3rd camshaft and lifters due to failures. The truck has 43,000 miles on it. This is not normal. RAM has fixed it twice, and now the new lifters, that were installed a month ago are also beginning to make noise. When these camshaft and lifters fail they put metal into the engine which creates catastrophic failures.

Failure of the power steering system. Almost impossible to turn at slow speeds.

Took delivery of new truck (2024 Ram 1500 4x4 Laramie) on September 25th. On September 26th, while backing into a parking space, the engine cut off and multiple error lights illuminated (including check engine light). I was able to re-start the vehicle and back into the space. Dealer investigated, determined that a fuse was loose. On October 14th, while pulling into a shopping center road, the engine shut off and the same series of error lights, including the check engine light, illuminated. When the engine cut off (including the first time) power steering is lost, and the vehicle becomes very difficult to steer. The airbag system failed to deploy during a front-end collision. Despite significant damage to the front of the vehicle, none of the airbags activated. Yes, the vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The driver (my husband) hit his head on the steering wheel due to the airbags not deploying, which put his safety at serious risk. The lack of airbag deployment increased the chances of injury during the impact. The problem has not yet bee confirmed by a dealer or independent service center. I bought a new Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck from Lindsay CDJR located at 8100 Centreville Road Manassas VA 20111 on [XXX] and on [XXX] I noticed there are missing rear wheel shields on both sides of the truck. I called the Dealership and spoke to the salesman that sold me the car Said Hashemi and I sent him pictures of the missing parts and exposed wires and undercarriage and parts. He told me I could go to a local dodge dealership and get a quote for the parts and that dealership could call him and he would arrange for a charge to the Linsay dealership. I did this the same day 10/23/2024 and got a quote of $809.14 When I called from that local dealership Garden City Dodge in New York Said Hashemi then spoke to the sales Manager Mike Tatum who said they would not pay for them.
