2025 Mazda CX-50 owner complaints

First time I noticed the crack on top passenger side of the windshield was on 9/12/25 while taking a break from work in my car. Car mileage on 9/12/25 was 1892 miles Upon inspection of windshield, I found out that crack was felt when I ran my fingernail on the inside, and when trying to feel the crack from the outside, windshield felt smooth and without any indication of cracking. I would like to attest that this vehicle has been kept in a garage since its purchase. I also would like to add that there has not been debris of any kind hitting the windshield while driving it, hence the crack being felt only from the inside. I have taken the car to the dealership today and I have an appointment for further inspection on 9/24/25

I was driving to Castle Rock, CO from Parkville, MO on [XXX] for vacation. I used the heated seat feature off and on during the trip. When I arrived in CO at my destination I noticed my thighs were hurting- stinging and hot. I checked my thighs and saw they were red and blisters were forming. I went to urgent care and I referred to the ER- I was given information about how to treat 2nd/3rd degree burns. The rear hatch window shattered overnight while parked for no identifiable reason. There was no sign of a break-in or object that may have struck the window. Ring camera footage shows no one causing the damage.

Due to a hybrid battery malfunction, full body sensor mlafunction and TPMS functionality error, vehicle left inoperable. Vehicle could not be placed in neutral. Vehicle could not be jump started.

I rented this vehicle from Enterprise (EAN HOLDINS LLC) in Collierville Tn. on 5/19/25 I rented the vehicle to attend a funeral in Virginia. I drove 1803 miles there and back. While it was raining and cold, I used the seat heaters on and off when I noticed that my legs and gluts began to become irritated and inflamed. Once I finally was home late that night, I observed that I had been burned on legs and glut area. The areas were red and inflamed. That morning I had blisters and large red/purple bruises which I began documenting with photos. I went to see my doctor who stated that I had 1st and 2nd degree burns which he then photographed and documented in my chart and prescribed some meds. Emergency brake came on as I was backing out of parking space, pausing to double check for traffic not seen on camera. The emergency brake froze on "on" and car was stuck, unmovable, in traffic lane. The emergency brake would not release when put in reverse or drive. The same problem happened again the next day in forward. Two different dealers were not able to duplicate the problem. No warning lights came on.

When using adaptive cruise control, during SOME cornering, SOMETIMES the car brakes unexpectedly, very aggressively, without warning. Very dangerous, especially when another car is behind you.

Brake booster failure in less than two years of ownership. It seems to be an issue with A LOT of these models. Very unsafe to have any brake failure

I previously reported the auto breaking system would slam on breaks prematurely. Now it was a factor in an accident where the Mazda CX-50 was rear-ended by a Ram 2500 truck at full speed on the highway. Car is incompaitated and I have suffered injuries.

When approaching cars at an intersection, the brake warning does not give any warning, but the cars brake, lock up, and throw me and anything in the seat flying into the floor or side compartment. It was not even necessary to stop that quickly. Totally random and could cause an accident.

TO NTSA - 2025 Mazda CX-50 Premium Turbo Plus - Purchased [XXX] - Less than 2,000 miles Driving north on [XXX] , I took exit [XXX] . When slowing to change to the right-hand lane, it surged then rapidly accelerated. Stepping on the brake did not slow it down, increased acceleration. To avoid hitting cars in my lane, I jumped the curb to the frontage road, continually pumping on the brake. The left front wheel and axle broke off and landed 20 ft away. The vehicle did not slow down; It was stopped by snapping a power pole in half. While trying to grab my purse, two Good Samaritans yelled at me to get out of the car, it was smoking and there were power lines overhead. Miraculously, I walked away. I brought my vehicle to Safford Mazda of Fredericksburg on Monday, December 15, 2025 due to a front-end clunking that occurs during left or right turns. A service representative test-drove the vehicle with me and was able to hear and duplicate the noise. Shortly afterward, I was informed that the front axle has internal damage and that the vehicle would need to be retained by the dealership for repair. I was told the necessary parts would not be available until sometime in February 2026. The dealership retained possession of the vehicle and arranged a loaner vehicle for my use. The service manager declined to provide written documentation stating that the car was unsafe to drive or describing potential consequences of continued operation. On three separate occasions, while in reverse backing out of my driveway, the car failed to engage the transmission when shifting into drive, acting like it was in neutral. There were no warning lights or messages on the dashboard. The only way that I found to engage the transmission was to turn off the vehicle, turn back on, and move selector to drive. This is a safety issue as I've had cars approaching in both directions with the CX-50 behing immobilized and not able to move out of the roadway.

I bought the car new from Mazda in December, 2024, and I am the original owner of the car. I backed out of a parking space. I shifted my gear to D, but the car kept sliding backward. I quickly shifted the gear back to P, pressed the parking brake, and turned off my engine. I had to restart my engine several times before the car will drive forward in D. This incident happened twice already.

1) Driving on an expressway and the red warning light goes on - two red bars with a sterring wheel in the middle. Car sounded an alarm that indicated we were going to crash. No cars in front of us. 2) Driving on the expressway with the cruise control on. Driving 75 miles an hour and the vehicle goes to 30 miles an hour and I have to accelerate. Thank the Lord no one was behind me. This has happened 3 times. I took it into Mazda and tool them the issue but they just did their regular maintenance on my car. There is a major issue with this vehicle and nobody wants to admit Need your help

Cruise control surges beyond normal limits, has tried to take curves on exits so fast the tires slide and I have to slam on the brakes. Also, when pulling out from behind a car, the cruise control kicks in too fast and is flying toward stopped cars, and I have to use the brake to stop it or rear-end the car in front of me. Also, the fuel system would not allow me to fill up the gas tank, and I was stranded. Computer would not open the fuel tank for me to put fuel into it. Has to pry the entire assembly off and break it. Then fuel would not go into the fuel tank, air pressure kept turning off the pump. Brake pads loose / moving inside the shims of overall Brake system for the vehicle . Making audio noise while driving and parking and stopping vehicle. Safety risk of brake Failure Minor Odor of fire/fumes

An indentation in the rear bumper may be noticed SAME AS sa035/22 BUT DEALER said is not applicable to my vehicle even when is the same deffect.

The issue is that the rear window spontaneously shattered. My car was parked in the driveway at the time. I got into the driver seat, like usual, and closed the door with normal velocity. Immediately after closing the door, I heard a 'crinkling' sound that my brain couldn't identify. I looked into the back seat to see if I could see what had made the noise, but didn't see anything that answered that question. As I looked into my rear view mirror, before starting the car, I saw blue sky - which wasn't usual (the window is tinted dark). I turned around again, and saw that I was seeing Through the back window. My initial thought was that the hatch was up. I got out of the car, went to the back, and discovered an utterly shattered window. I would say that most of the glass bits fell into the c
