Recall Roundup: 1 New Vehicle Recall (October 11, 2026)
This week's notable NHTSA recalls — what's failing on each vehicle, the safety risk, and the fix.
One recall this week, and it’s a safety system that only matters when you need it most. Here’s what’s going on with the new Ram 1500.
2026 RAM 1500
Chrysler is recalling certain 2026 Ram 1500 trucks over the side air bags. The connector for the driver and front passenger side air bags may not be secured properly, which can keep those air bags from deploying the way they should. Because of that, these trucks don’t meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards 208 and 214, which cover occupant crash protection and side impact protection.
The risk is simple. If a side air bag doesn’t deploy in a crash, you’re more likely to get hurt.
The fix is free. Dealers will inspect the sensor connections and repair them as needed at no charge. Owner notification letters are expected to go out October 27, 2026. If you have questions, call Chrysler customer service at 800-853-1403 and reference recall number 94D. The NHTSA campaign number is 26V622000.
