Look — RAM's fuel-system story is well-documented in the NHTSA file, and it ain't pretty. 458 complaints across 17 year-model entries from 2013 to 2021. Not a small number. 2016 RAM 1500 leads the list, but the same issue shows up across multiple years on the same platform. 5 injury reports on the record — not a category to wave off. Average shop fix runs about $1,200 — not catastrophic, but it adds up over time. Across the 224 complaints reporting odometer mileage, the median failure lands at about 83,354 miles. Check the fuel pump access cover for prior work. A vehicle on this list that already had a pump replacement is a vehicle to consider — the work is done.
