I have a standard and was driving down the highway where the speed limit is 55 MPH when my gas pedal became stuck in between shifting. I tried to push the gas pedal down but it would not go. I had to let my car coast over to a turning lane in order to get out of coming traffic. I put my emergency lights on and had to let my car sit. After a few minutes I tried to push the gas pedal down and it still would not work. I then turned the car off and restarted it and the gas pedal still would not move. I turned the car off again and restarted it and let the car sit again for about 5 minutes. The pedal finally worked but as soon as I made it to the next intersection and made my turn into the parking lot where I work, the gas pedal was stuck again. I then put the car in neutral and let it

Referring to case # [xxx]. Upon further inspection it was determined that the root cause of the short was in fact the small bundle of wires going into the liftgate. Repairs have been made to all affected wires. Including installation of a brand new headlight switch Ford certified. Cost of repairs 2347 dollars and 97 cents.upon reading other complaints on this website I've seen at least 40 other cases caused by the same bundle of wires. This is very dangerous and as you can see could potentially cause a vehicle to burst into flames while driving. Something's gotta be done. Driving on route 209 approximately 40 miles an hour. I noticed white smoke coming through the dash. Immediately pulled the car over, put the car in park, removed the key, and got out of the car. With no key in the ignition the starter began turning over. I didn't have any tools to unhook the battery. The starter turned over for about a minute, then the windshield wipers, headlights, and horn all began activating. I immediately called my mechanic for emergency roadside assistance. After about 4 minutes of the wipers head lights and horn all activating with no key in the ignition, someone stopped and had some tools unhook the battery.mechanic showed up about five minutes later, had the car towed to his shop, and began searching for the problem. Three times since the car's purchase in late 2005 I have experienced a 'brake fade, soft pedal" issue. The vehicle was taken 3 times to the local dealership crown Ford in redding, ca for the problem and was dismissed by the dealer as they could not reproduce the problem! Since then the warranty has ended on the vehicle but the issue remains and occurs a few times each year! Every time is a scary situation, I am sure one day the vehicle will just not stop!!! You press the pedal and the pedal fades to the floor, you have to let up on the pedal and then press it a couple times to pump up pressure to stop the vehicle! We had waited for a recall from Ford and nothing! Last night 12.27/2016 I saw on the news that a probe has been opened for this exact issue but on newer model years of Ford and

The dealer told him the particles were actually flux from the heater core. When the heater core got hot the flux broke up and separated from the core. The dealer flushed the heater core. This stopped the particles from escaping for several weeks. The problem recurred. The contact's eyes were burning and stinging when the flux blew in his eyes. He must turn the vents away from his face to avoid any contact with the particles. The vehicle is scheduled for another heater core flush next week. No other repairs have been made at this time. *ak

I purchased a pre-owned 2005 Ford focus about 1 1/2 ago. Recently, the driver's side passenger door would not lock automatically or manually. I searched the internet for information and discovered that there had been a recall on this problem. I called Ford and was told that my vehicle was not included in the recall because it was only the 2005 Ford focus from a certain manufacturing location. The representative informed me that my 2005 focus was not manufactured from that particular location. So I took it to my mechanic who stated that it was the door latch and would cost $271.44 to repair. I had no choice but to have it repaired. I've attached a copy of the recall and I'm very upset since it is the exact problem that I am having yet it's not included in the recall. I understand that v

There is water leaking from my car into the engine. It is seeping under the cowl. This is causing water to get into my air filter and causing problems with my MAF system. This problem occurs when it rains or when I wash my vehicle. I just purchased the vehicle on nov. 9 2009. I was not disclosed of this issue. I have not taken it for repair as repair costs are astronomical. I have seen hundreds of others with the same vehicle (Ford focus) with water leak problems. I own a 2005 Ford focus. I am terrified to drive my car in the ran because it hesitates and causes the engine to misfire. I am scared that it will happen on the road and I will get killed and ran over my truck or something. Please do something about fords poor workmanship. *tr

I was westbound on 5th st. In olivehurst, ca, and headed to olivehurst drive. The conditions were dry and cool, and the speed limit was 25 MPH. I had not yet come up to the speed limit (below 10 MPH) when my front end began to shake. Seconds later, my passenger and I heard a loud bang, and the front end swerved sharply to the right. I tried to correct to the left, and ended up clipping a pole (on the right side of the road) instead of hitting it head on. My passenger sustained a blow to his knee. No other injuries occurred, and we did not feel it necessary to call an ambulance. As there was minimal scrapes on the power pole, and my car was not covered for collision damage, I did not notify the authorities. Gas pedal sticks in cold weather when first putting car in gear and stepping on gas pedal. If you pump the gas pedal a few times after starting the car, the problem seems to disappear for the length of time you drive the vehicle. This problem could cause an accident if the above procedure is not taken. *tr

Bought the car for my mother it had 91,000 miles on it and ran fine. It now has 106,000 miles on it and the automatic transmission has failed with a broken intermediate band, looked up the problem and found lots of complaints about the same problem again and again. It will show up as a shift solenoid "d" problem but if you fix it, it will not help. The band is broken and must be replaced. Car would not shift smoothly from 2 - 4 gear.
