There were no events leading to the failure. This is the 2nd such failure I have experienced. When approaching a stoplight in heavy traffic I was downshifting the motorcycle using the engine to decelerate. The clutch cable snapped without warning with the motorcycle still in gear. I was able to lock us the brakes and kill the motor before running into the back of a car. This is the 2nd clutch cable on this motorcycle that has failed in less than 2 years. After the first occurrence I just thought maybe I had a bad part. I replaced it and didn't think anything more about it. This time I was a little more concerned. Upon close inspection of the clutch lever where the cable is inserted I noticed a burr in the casting that may be causing this problem and causing the cable to wear.

I am the owner of a 2006 Suzuki boulevard m109r and I have been having trouble with my transmission for over a year now, my second gear does not stay engaged , as soon as I shift into second gear and accelerate it goes back into neutral, I attempt to shift into second gear again and the same thing happens all over again, no second gear, apparently I am not the only owner who's having this problem from what I've read on the internet on many different forums and local friends that have the year, make and model motorcycle as mine. It is very unsafe to shift from first to third gear, not to mention the wear and the stress it puts on the motorcycle and possibly causing more mechanical issues.

The bike jumps out of 2nd gear into neutral. *tr

Since purchase, the bike has had trouble going into 2nd gear. It has popped out several times and a couple of times would not go into 2nd gear at all. Now, routinely, in 2nd gear the bike lurches and bucks when you give it gas to speed up. It stops when shifted into 3rd, 4th, or 5th. And also does not do this in first. I have almost wrecked this bike twice due to the violent bucking of the transmission. No work has been done yet. *tr

I purchased the Suzuki m109r brand new, within 2 months I begin having problems with the 2nd gear slipping out. I took the bike to dealership immediately, with no positive results. In 2006 they claimed that these problems were not apparent to Suzuki. I recently found pass invoices from dealership that explained that there had not been any defects or complaints referring the transmission in 2006. I was offered a one time "goodwill" service due to the fact that the bike was brand new. I got my bike back and within 8 months the 2nd gear started slipping out of gear, so I skipped 2nd gear and went straight to 3rd. As of 2009 the bike has been sitting with a transmission that is defected and badly in need of repair. This bike is a very powerful bike and I feel the transmission was not made effi

Bike shifts hard into 2nd gear. Once in gear the bike surges and bucks like the transmission is slipping. Sometimes it slips out of gear into neural. Mostly it stays in gear but bucks so bad I get wheel spin. Once in 3rd gear the problem stops. I have seen hundreds of online posts detailing the problem but I've never seen a solution in how to fix it. *tr

Again, I will need to replace my clutch assembly on my Suzuki blvd m109r motorcycle. Last year (7/2007) I replaced the clutch assembly on my bike with 1850 miles. I now have 5000 miles and have to replace the clutch assembly once again (7/2008). Same symptom, lost of power. *tr

There are a number of 2006 & 2007 Suzuki m109r motorcycles that have defective breaking systems on them. The rear rotor is separating from the mounting plate. Suzuki says this is normal but other mechanics say that the issue is a safety issue and should be changed. Suzuki has in fact changed the rotor for the 2008. Line up I will be posting your web site so other owners can let you know how big this problem is. *tr

Purchased the bike in late june with less than 1800 miles. Got a vibration feel & small tapping noise a couple days later. Took back to dealer & they didn't feel it or hear it. Then in sept went for a short ride with a friend & it started knocking & trying to stall out. Called the dealer & with lots of problems finally got them to diagnose it. It needs the motor rebuilt with pistons, rods & crank. They had done the turn up & changed the oil before we picked it up after purchase and they didn't seem to see any problems then. Don't know how it could need the motor rebuilt with less than 2500 miles on it. The motor isn't even broke in yet. Has there been any problems with this? I am having to shell out $3500 for repairs I don't feel I should and aren't my fault. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2006 Suzuki m109r motorcycle. While idling at a stop light, oil spontaneously began spooling out of the rear of the vehicle. As the contact attempted to accelerate, the rear tire began spinning out of control because it was saturated in oil. He took the vehicle to the dealer, but they could not determine the cause of the excessive oil loss. Immediately after the inspection, while driving at an unknown speed, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed back to the dealer, where it has remained for the past thirty days. As of july 21, 2008, the dealer could not determine the cause of the failure. The failure and current mileages were 3,000.

I was riding my motorcycle, (2006 Suzuki m109r boulevard) on i465 in the middle lane at approximately 12:30 pm. I heard a loud thud and all of the sudden my rear wheel locked completely up. My rear end slid out to the right, but somehow I was able to countersteer the motorcycle and keep it upright. With just pure luck I was able to reach the shoulder of the interstate after sliding for about 100 feet with no bodily harm. After looking at the motorcycle I realized that the swing arm (which houses the drive shaft), had broken completely and caused the back tire to lock up. I did some research online, and have found that I am not the only person that this has happened to. There are many instances on the website m109riders.com with pictures that are identical to the incident that I experience
