My service air bag light came on so I took it to the dealership to get it looked at. They told me it is just a sensor and you need to pay $900 for us to fix it. I don't have $900. About a month later I notice my dash on the passenger side starting to crack a bit and then a few weeks later a see my dash is now starting to bulge and it has a outline where my air bag is. I am terrified that it is going to deploy while I'm driving and my wife or a child is in the seat when it blows. I have read numerous blogs concerning the exact same issue with the air bags and I can't figure out why this is not already a recall issue. *tr

The passenger seat airbag sensor has malfunctioned and needs replaced at a cost of $1500.00. Gm knows about the defect and that the passenger airbag will not deploy. There is currently a class action suit against the company.

Around 60,000 miles the "check air bag" light came on. The passenger seat air bag comes on and goes off during travel. If I was to have an accident while the bag happens to have turned itself off, I'm afraid a much greater injury will occur. Dealer says its not under warranty and will cost around $1,000 to replace the computer board in passenger seat. I believe this affects other Chevrolet models as well. Chevrolet should recall the circuit board before their customers are injured or killed.

Service air bag warning light comes on and goes off while driving . Called service department they said make sure nothing is under seats that could obstruct the seat sensors. Checked nothing there. Light still on. Service department said it would make air bags inoperable, wouldn't deploy air bags. In case of accident. Is it normal to service air bags at a certain mileage point. I am finding online many of the camaro's seem to be having the same problems I am. I don't want to be driving when they decide to go off . *tr

While driving at highway speed "service airbags" light came on for no apparent reason. This car has never been in an accident and did not come in contact with anything. Light is still on and repair "estimate" is between $750.00 and $1500.00. Car had approximately 32000 miles on the odometer when this occurred but because the car is 4 years old Chevrolet will not warranty this safety problem.

Went to get an oil change last week. After the oil change, my "service air bag" light is on. Talked with the mechanic and he showed me everything he had touched on my vehicle. Took my car to the Chevy dealership in aberdeen md and they said that an oil change would not interfere with the airbag sensor. One of the service guys told me it is normally a wire that needs to be changed. They scheduled me for an appointment for monday but after doing research I decided to hold off. I do not think I should be fixing a safety issue, plus I am seeing this common in these cars. What are Chevy's plans to fix? I have been driving my 11 year old son around in a car that could potentially be a death trap for him.

I have a 2010 Chevy camaro rs 2 lt. I am experiencing an issue with front ps wheel "washboarding" ;feels like driving with a flat tire. Dealership replaced front tires, still have problem; they pretty much washed their hands of this issue, said they can't find anything... It only does this in the morning when starting out, when I drive vehicle later in the day it drives fine, but I now have a metal on metal sound coming from that wheel so its progressively getting worse. I love the vehicle, but am increasingly frustrated with this situation and lack of concern with dealer. I don't live in a cold climate, just the opposite, so tire flatspotting isn't a consideration here...at times, the car also seems difficult to control as if its riding in a road rut and being "pulled" to one side or anot

The 2010 camaro rs package only comes with pirelli p-zero tires, (p245/45/zr20 in front, p275/40/zr20 in rear). These are "summer only" tires. Neither gm nor the dealership explained this at the time of purchase. It was also not included in any of the paperwork describing the vehicle or in the owner's manual. The vehicle was purchased in northern illinois, where winter driving conditions are a given. I only became aware of this after the first significant snowfall, when the vehicle became extremely difficult to control. It skids during even at low acceleration and during gentle braking. When the dealership was contacted, they said there was nothing they or gm could do regarding the situation. They are selling these vehicles with "standard equipment" that is certain to make them unsafe to d

Engine light illuminated with p0008 OBD-ii trouble code: engine positions system performance bank 1. Twice was told by dealership it was an oil issue even though no oil change alerts came on and check engine light kept coming back after service (occasionally intermittent). MPG was negatively impacted during regular operation and occasional rough idling at stoplights. At 77,000 miles (and just past the 7 years covered by extended warranty), was finally told this was a timing chain issue and $1,700 to fix (of course not covered). Research on stretched timing chain from p0008 error for camaros indicated many others with issue and extended warranty up to 10 years/120,000 miles issued by gm for other vehicle models using same engine. Bulletin/warranty should be extended to affected 2010 c

I purchased a 2010 ss camaro in northeast ohio. After purchase I found out that the cars come with "summer only" tires. The tires do not say anything about being "summer only" so I tried to drive the car in our winter season. The car is impossible to drive in as little as an inch of snow. I purchased winter tires for this season for over $1000.00. Pirelle informed me that the tires an not to be used in temps under 41 degrees, the week of thanksgiving (2010) temps in florida were under 35 degrees. These tires can not be used in more than 50% of america! Why should a customer of a new car be expected to purchase tires? Then are unsafe and unusable in most parts of the country. *tr
