While driving the car, the engine shuts off unexpectedly and we lose power steering and brakes. We have to coast to a stop, put it back in park and restart engine and proceed. This happens with no predictability which makes this dangerous. The times that it has happened, the roads have been wet or snow covered. It has also happened on dry roads. Traveling at a high rate of speed makes this a dangerous circumstance. Since it is unpredictable, we are very nervous to take this car on a highway. We have had the car in to shapiro leon motor sales several times and they cannot find anything that comes up on their diagnostics.they did replace the powertrain control module. This did not make a difference. It continued to shut down. There is no rhyme or reason. They have driven it but it did not sh

Since 2013 my Dodge grand caravan has failed to start on numerous occasions. It will work ok when suddenly you turn the key and the dash lights come on but the engine will not turn over. A Dodge dealer changed the battery but the problem has persisted. Sometimes you can turn the key to on shift into drive and back into park and it will start. Sometimes you can shift into neutral and it will start. Other times neither of these fixes work. Researching this problem shows it has long been a longterm problem with Dodge and Chrysler covering several year models. Numerous people have reported starters, batteries, tipm modules, win modules, fobs and neutral safety switkennethches (transmission range sensors) being replaced with no relief from the problem. Chrysler and Dodge dealerships are u

Driving on interstate I-90 when I lost power to wipers, turn signals, radio, power windows. I took the van back to the Dodge dealer since they had fixed the wireless ignition module under a recall notice in august of 2010. I was told to touch the key and the power would return which it did do.I was also told that the problem of the key turning off the engine was fixed under the recall but they now have this problem. Since first reporting the problem in october this has occurred more frequently. *tr

Beginning september 2017 to december 2017 (present): multiple issues related to electrical: (1) engine stalled while driving at 30 MPH (city street, driving straight), and lost power steering and brakes; (2) electrical system warning light has been coming on from september 2017 to december 2017 (present). Light often comes on when power window buttons are pressed; battery has been checked; alternator has been replaced twice (!) in december 2017 and warning light still comes on; (3) windows roll themselves down when vehicle is not running; this happened multiple times in winter and cold weather, there is no chance the window was left down by the driver; (4) head and tail lights blink when vehicle is not running; (5) rear seat power outlet not working; (6) rear defroster not working; (7) si

I have had my 2010 Dodge grand caravan for 1 year. First the alternator went out then the key module then the transmission then the shifting harnesses cable and now the lights keep blinking on and off and the van feels like it has no power the battery was just changed a month ago. This has been the worst vehicle ever and we are scared that it is going to cause a deadly accident. The vehicle gets stuck in gears. And and now keeps shutting off and the headlights keep blinking on and off as well as all the lights in the van. If these are know issues why has there not been a total recall on all these vehicles before a deadly accident does happen. Or is it going to take someone to actually die before something is done about all the known issues the makers of these vehicles are aware of.

When driving on the freeway at night the headlights suddenly shut off they would not come back on, neither the headlights or the high beams would work, I put the hazard lights on and got off the road, after that the headlights blinked when turned on and then would not come on at all, after that they came on and then shut back off again while driving on city streets, the headlights turn off while driving or do not turn on at all. *tr

The van will intermittently fail to start, or it sputters when it starts. Bypassing the fuel pump relay on the tipm module will fix the problem, however it is not a safe permanent solution. Other makes and models have been recalled for the same issue, however the 2010 Dodge caravan was not included in the recall even though the same defect and problem is evident. This is a bad design and Dodge should stick by their mistakes and provide a fix.

On several occasions (5 to date) the engine has stalled while the vehicle is moving at a steady speed. Each time the vehicle has been moving at less than 20mph and has been running for a relatively short period of time 5-10 min from cold start. We took the car to the dealer, but no codes were set and they couldn't find anything wrong. They say the engine is not due for maintenance for another 15,000 miles. We are extremely disappointed in this response given the seriousness of having the engine stall while the car is moving. Heaven forbid it occur while on the highway. *tr
